Valerie, who greeted us, was very friendly, the veal kidneys in Madeira sauce were delicious and honestly quite inexpensive for Lyon. 17/02/2026: We had dinner for Valentine's Day. We were seated upstairs because the downstairs room was full. The room wasn't very welcoming and felt more like a meeting room. We were disappointed because when we ordered our aperitifs, we had already mentioned wanting wine. We had to wait until our starters to ask again to order the wine because they had forgotten. The waitress couldn't open the bottle and went off to the bar without a word, presumably to open it. She apologized when she came back and put the cork on the bottle, which wasn't ours because it was red wine and we had ordered white. The dishes were very good but often lacked warmth. According to the waiters, we were given a detailed description of each dish, otherwise they didn't say anything. What bothered us was that each waiter did everything; it would have been much smoother if they had assigned tables. We were served water twice even though someone had already brought it. We were also very disappointed because our hot drinks were supposed to include petits fours when we booked, but we didn't receive any at all. On the other hand, we really enjoyed the musical interlude, which was great, with two people singing. It was a welcome change, as there is absolutely no background music in the restaurant. One last point that I think is essential: as this is a training restaurant, it's a shame that we can't give our feedback after the meal with a questionnaire or something similar, so that the students can improve. The meal was very generous and delicious.

14/02/2026: We came as a couple for Valentine's Day. And we'll never be back. Let me explain: I booked a table at the Vatel Lyon restaurant, hoping to share the Grand Vatel menu, which was presented and recommended to me by the reception staff. Imagine our disappointment when we arrived upstairs, in a sort of conference room converted into a campsite restaurant, complete with a glaring video projector and school chairs. Once seated, we were delighted to discover that it was a set menu, with no possibility of changes, a fact we hadn't been informed of by email. Halfway through the evening, you'll have the pleasure of listening to/enduring a participatory concert worthy of the worst campsites, all while enjoying a bland and tasteless meal that you could easily recreate at home. All this for the modest sum of €180 for two (knowing that this is not a professional service, but rather unqualified apprentices whom we don't want, as they have to learn somehow). In short, a very bad experience! For less money, and much better, I recommend the Bulle restaurant.

28/03/2026: I stumbled in by chance and was very pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious, with fresh ingredients and subtle spices. The service was friendly and quick. The only downside: it's a shame to sell a beer made in Belgium with a Lebanese beer label.

20/03/2026: The staff is exceptionally welcoming and friendly. It's the perfect place to discover Lebanese cuisine and savor its vibrant flavors. The setting is particularly pleasant, whether for lunch or dinner. I've been several times already, and I can't wait to return!

02/04/2026: Very disappointed, not really a traditional Lyonnais bistro. The food was mediocre and tasteless, even the cervelle de canut (a cheese spread) tasted only of vinegar. The welcome was friendly, but unfortunately, it quickly turned rude when we lingered. The comment, "I have to close," was neither professional nor elegant. Inappropriate behavior in a restaurant.

I was already familiar with this restaurant, which has a very good reputation for being a classic Lyonnais bouchon... and now I can say that its reputation is well-deserved. I highly recommend it.

15/04/2026: At Café du Jura, you settle in and fully enjoy the authentic soul of a magnificent Lyonnais bouchon. The menu is short and precise: each dish is generously prepared, a beautiful tribute to tradition and the culinary expertise honed throughout the restaurant's rich history. Ah, the Hélène Neveu sauce on the veal trotter salad! Bold and delightful flavors, accompanied by excellent bread of the same caliber. The chef is equally adept at desserts (the praline tart is unforgettable), and the wine list is impressive, particularly the Beaujolais, served by the glass, carafe, carafe, and of course, bottle—a fine example of its appellation. The service is warm and attentive. You'll want to get out your calendar immediately to find a date and return!
