13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.

20/05/2026: I recommend it. We had the pike quenelles and hot sausage; both dishes were very good.

17/05/2026: Very disappointed with my afternoon snack. The waitress was unfriendly and not very efficient. The crepes were overcooked, dry, and too sweet. I do not recommend it.

09/08/2026: It was absolutely delicious. I was hesitant because there wasn't much choice on the menu, but I happily ate even things I don't usually like or dislike. The cats certainly add to the charm of the place, but I was most surprised by the amount of space; it's huge!

09/08/2026: A very pleasant place! We were able to enjoy a leisurely brunch surrounded by all these cats living their lives peacefully. Cats of all ages, each with their own unique personality. And the meal itself was delicious! Thank you for the menu accommodations!

31/12/2025: What is this inedible chocolate ice cream?? I took a teaspoon of ice cream and immediately spat it out! How can you make ice cream that bad? Even the worst store-bought ice cream at 15 cents for a 35-pack is better

31/12/2025: 6 euros for a "hot chocolate" that turned out to be cocoa powder diluted in milk, served in cardboard cups. And it was so diluted it was more white than brown. This is extremely disappointing for an ice cream parlor, especially considering the price.

14/07/2026: We waited a little while, but that's because the cook was working alone, and honestly, it was so worth the wait because it was delicious. Generous portions for the price, and it was very good. Just the image generated by AI when you have to order, well, that could be changed.

29/06/2026: 40 degrees Celsius in the restaurant, unacceptable. The music was blaring throughout the entire establishment, and some items had an outrageous price increase of almost €3. I ordered a taco, and they forgot the sauce and the €1 Boursin cheese supplement. Absolutely avoid this place!!!!

16/07/2026: I came here for lunch with my partner. The service was very welcoming (a young man and a young woman), both very friendly. The food was good and they gave helpful advice on what to order. I recommend it.

02/08/2026: I've rarely seen such an unfriendly waitress... I'm not even sure she bothered to say hello, no courtesy whatsoever... She practically threw my drink on the table...

30/07/2026: I don't usually leave comments, but this time... Next time you want to do a stereotypical accent and make misogynistic jokes, avoid doing it in front of the Asian woman. I should have read the comments before going in; I won't be back.

21/05/2026: When we arrived we were greeted by a man who I assume was the owner, who promptly brought a bowl of shredded cabbage with chives and vinegar to nibble on. We ordered steak frites and was given a hamburger patty. Not really sure what I was charged for since there was no ticket, only the credit card machine with a total was presented. People inside seemed shocked to have non-locals eating here, and there was a lot of gawking and whispering going on. The man I assume was the owner was nice, and the hamburger patty wasn't bad, but I never felt comfortable here. Mildly average.

16/08/2026: Honestly, a great stop in the neighborhood. Good and inexpensive sandwiches, really excellent Lyonnais desserts, and friendly service!
