04/12/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and what a lucky break it was! We received a very warm welcome, and the food was excellent. Plus, they offer gluten-free options without any problems – pure bliss! We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Lyon.

I mentioned my gluten sensitivity, which wasn't a problem at all.

26/02/2026: I've been a regular at L'Apostrophe for over 20 years, and it's always a pleasure to walk through the door. Today, it's Lucas, Jeannot's son, who has brilliantly taken over the reins.
The welcome is typically Lyonnais: frank, authentic, and warm. There's a wonderful neighborhood atmosphere, the kind that's rare these days and that we love to find. Whether you're a long-time regular or just passing through, you'll feel right at home. A successful handover for a must-visit spot!

Table in a draft.
Disorganized service.
Amuse-bouche served before the ordered bottle of champagne.
Presentation of the wrong bottle of wine, already opened! Presentation of the digestif trolley during the cheese course. Hot dish served cold. Manager nowhere to be seen.
When it came time to pay the bill of over €1000, not a word of apology or a gesture of goodwill. In short, unworthy of their reputation. The service is more professional in some of the smaller restaurants in the area. Avoid at all costs!
06/01/2026: The food was excellent, the staff young and friendly, and the ambiance was fantastic. However, what bothered me somewhat was the smell of the glasses; the dishwasher smell was quite noticeable, especially when drinking a glass of water – that's unnecessary.

31/12/2025: 6 euros for a "hot chocolate" that turned out to be cocoa powder diluted in milk, served in cardboard cups.
And it was so diluted it was more white than brown.
This is extremely disappointing for an ice cream parlor, especially considering the price.

I took a teaspoon of ice cream and immediately spat it out!
How can you make ice cream that bad? Even the worst store-bought ice cream at 15 cents for a 35-pack is better

01/03/2026: We went to eat on the recommendation of the girl who gave us the free tour. We didn't wait long; the set menu was €19.90. The place was tiny, with tables crammed together, so you could eat almost next to strangers—very unpleasant. We ordered our food, and after waiting a while and watching everyone else being served before us, our first course arrived: a fairly decent onion soup and some puff pastry filled with cheese—nothing special. For our second course, we ordered three typical Lyonnais dishes: quenelle de brochette (like a fish croquette) – bland, tasteless, dry, in short, a disaster; sassiccion or something like that, a typical sausage-like dish, dry and bland; and meat with sauce and some potatoes that were burnt underneath. The whole thing was a mess, honestly, a horrible meal. Oh, and I forgot to mention, drinks weren't included in the menu, so we ordered the house wine. My fault for not checking the price because they charged me almost €18 for 46cl – outrageous! I'm speechless. If Lyon is the capital of French gastronomy, I don't know what I mean.
27/02/2026: A wonderful discovery! This traditional Lyonnais bistro is perfectly located for exploring the historic district. The menu is lovely, with plenty of choice... The food is delicious and the portions are generous! The atmosphere is truly pleasant, the service is efficient, and yet it was packed! By the way, remember to book ahead! Thank you to the servers and the owner! We'll be back!

04/02/2026: A little gem in Lyon, away from the hustle and bustle of Old Lyon, but starting to become a victim of its own success 🙂. It's still one of the best places in the area to relax in nature 🙂
17/01/2026: I was greeted with big smiles and attentive service during my visit with my grandchildren. Café Gadagne is a magnificent setting that would make Parisians envious! The brunch was excellent and made even better by the impeccable service and thoughtful touches from the staff, who were always smiling and attentive.
I even insisted a bit by asking if they had almond milk… and what a lovely surprise: they did! It's this kind of detail that truly makes all the difference. A very pleasant experience for both adults and children.
We will definitely be back with great pleasure.

16/03/2026: We came this Monday with friends and had a wonderful time thanks to Clémence and Alex. A huge thank you for their service; they were kind, friendly, and incredibly attentive! They heard it was my friend's birthday and even offered to put a candle on our chocolate fondant cake! The food was delicious, the ingredients were high quality, and the dishes were beautifully prepared. So, a well-deserved 5 stars!!

11/03/2026: Excellent, classic dish, however the wait was a bit too long.
08/03/2026: A very bad experience. There were six of us, and each person had simply ordered a meal. Despite this, the wait was about 40 minutes.
At the counter, all the orders were incorrect: wrong drinks, wrong burgers, and the wrong size container for the fries. Some burgers were served with the cheese not even melted. The fries were neither salted nor properly cooked.
The problem didn't seem to be an isolated incident: several other customers around us were also complaining about errors in their orders.

18/12/2024: Excellent repas dans ce bouchon haut de gamme. Un menu qui ne laisse pas sur sa faim et des plats qui nous ont regalé. Avec un service très agréable, plein d'humour et de bon conseil (merci notamment à Lenaig).
10/12/2024: Mal reçu, le réceptionniste ne trouvait pas notre réservation faite par téléphone nous a renvoyes; j'ai cherché sur mon téléphone la preuve de ma réservation mais ne l'ai pas trouvee; toujours avec la personne qui n ous disait de partir; finalement une vraie professionnelle est arrivée et à trouvé rapidement notre réservation...pas d'excuses présentées....mais c'est vrai qu'en 2024 ça ne se fait plus; je n'avais pas reçu de confirmation car mon adresse mail était fausse....nous avons été placé dans une descente pour fauteuil roulant avec beaucoup de difficultés pour arriver à tirer les chaises pour s'installer alors qu'il y avait des tables vides à côté....bref j'ai eu honte par rapport aux personnes avec lesquelles j'étais venues....je ne recommanderais plus votre restaurant.

21/09/2024: So stellt man sich Lyonaiser Küche vor. Derb, bäuerlich, aber von guter Qualität. Wir bekamen einen Tipp, hier Bouchon Lyonnais zu probieren und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Gerne wieder.
