I particularly appreciated the attention paid to my request. Although the six-course menu is usually only offered in the evening, the team was kind enough to prepare it for me at lunchtime. It was my first time trying food and wine pairings, and I was absolutely not disappointed. Each pairing was perfectly chosen and enhanced the dishes beautifully. Finally, the value for money is outstanding considering the quality of the experience offered. The Scratch Restaurant in Bourg-en-Bresse is a true gem, an address I recommend without hesitation. I particularly enjoyed the Northeast-style vermicelli salad, which was very refreshing in this heat. Special mention goes to the thinly sliced ​​potatoes, perfectly seasoned. The black pepper beef was also very flavorful. The honey and grapefruit tea was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. The atmosphere is friendly, the service pleasant, and the prices are reasonable for the neighborhood. I will definitely return to try their kebabs and grilled meats, which look excellent. 20/06/2026: Really attentive staff. Chef was able to accommodate one person in our family with a dietary restriction. The food was quite delicious, but oversalted. The joli bout de cochon in particular was so salty that my gums and palate felt weird until the next day, and I slept much hotter than usual (but it was delicious). This is not a complaint, but I think the restaurant should let new customers know that most of their main dishes (nos plats canailles) are just a piece of meat and no accompaniments. If we had known about the composition of the plates, we would have ordered more salads and shared, more like tapas. But the prices would be too excessive for tapas: 22€ for volaille de bresse for just one poultry leg, not even half a chicken, was asking for too much. The dishes that come with a sauce are a bit more balanced, but still no vegetables or starches, just meat and sauce.

One detail particularly stood out to me: I wanted an iced coffee, which isn't really on the menu. Since they were out of ice, an employee took the time to go and get some from their other location so she could make it for me. Despite the crowd, she made a point of fulfilling my request with great professionalism and kindness. This kind of attention is becoming rare and deserves to be highlighted.
