05/10/2026: Don't bother coming here for a coffee; you'll be treated badly. The welcome was terrible; we clearly bothered them. "They set up shop for 15 euros for 10 people," they said behind our backs. It doesn't seem to matter to these people. We just wanted a coffee after our picnic. Keep walking; there are other cafes nearby. Politeness isn't their strong point either; a simple "goodbye" or "have a nice day" is hardly necessary. Very disappointed.

14/09/2026: An excellent lunch menu and impeccable service! We had a wonderful time during our lunch at the Mets et Vins restaurant. The lunch menu was of exceptional quality, showcasing fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce. Each dish was a true delight for the taste buds and beautifully presented. The value for money for this refined cuisine at lunchtime is particularly remarkable. The service was quick, extremely warm, and attentive. If you are looking for an excellent place to have lunch in Bourg-en-Bresse, this is a must!

30/09/2026: As an occasional customer for several years, I've never taken the time to rate the establishment. Considering it's a cafeteria-style restaurant, I find the value for money excellent. I've never been disappointed by the food. The establishment is clean and pleasant, the staff professional, friendly (which is becoming rare), and loyal (employees stay), which is usually a sign of good working conditions. 11/09/2026: I'm so disappointed! I'd been waiting for this restaurant to reopen for a while, and I've always been satisfied. Even my friends and family, to whom I've introduced it, have been amazed every time. Unfortunately, today I didn't recognize the same food, even though they offered to bring me a new plate and made a gesture of goodwill by not charging me for my lemonade, which was very kind of them. I hope it was just an off day; I'll still go back to be sure.

04/10/2026: This Sunday, September 4th, the day of the street fair, my daughter and I decided to take a little stroll around town. Since we love the ice cream at the Brasserie du Théâtre (we're regular customers), we went there around 2:15 pm. It was lunchtime, and many tables were occupied. The waiter came over and said, "No bar service at this time. Come back around 3 pm." So, okay, we took another little walk around town to pass the time. We came back around 3 pm, and there it was again: the waiter said, "No bar service at this time. Come back around 3:30 pm." WHAT?! Is this a joke? I'm starting to wonder if people even want to work. It's just unacceptable. Frankly, I'm very, very disappointed with the Brasserie du Théâtre. Now nobody wants to work anymore. It's unbelievable, but true.

We enjoyed dishes prepared by a chef who clearly loves his work, with exquisite finesse, using fresh, homemade ingredients—worthy of a gourmet restaurant. A huge thank you again for your generosity. Unfortunately, establishments like this are becoming increasingly rare. You can go without hesitation and enjoy a wonderful, convivial experience.
