28/05/2026: Absolutely avoid this place. A disastrous experience from start to finish. The waitress made a mistake with our order and then literally asked us to leave the restaurant instead of acknowledging her error or offering a solution, even though the place was empty. Customer service: nonexistent. The refund took forever for something that should never have happened. No professionalism, no sincere apology, no attempt to rectify the situation. We felt utterly mistreated. And to top it all off, the restaurant tries to project an “authentic Japanese” image that sounds more like tourist marketing. Thankfully, the neighborhood is full of genuine Japanese restaurants that actually know what hospitality is. Keep walking. There are infinitely better options around.

24/02/2026: An excellent restaurant that I highly recommend! The welcome is always warm and attentive. The food is delicious, generous, and prepared with great care. The stuffed crab in its ceramic shell 😉 is always a hit. Special mention also goes to the ginger prawns, bursting with flavor, and the tender and fragrant duck with mushrooms and bamboo. The friendly interactions with the hostess add a much-appreciated and personal touch, making the experience even more enjoyable. A truly delightful experience from beginning to end.

26/06/2026: A delicious experience. Pay once and eat as much as you want. A perfect way to sample specialties from Japan, China, and especially France. From meats and seafood to sweets, including macarons and mochi. I definitely recommend it 👌

03/07/2026: A very pleasant evening at Village Monge yesterday with friends, on the airy terrace. The atmosphere was lively with swing jazz musicians (I don't think they have that every day), and the service was friendly and professional. I had a tuna steak with fresh vegetables and wine during happy hour, and my friends seemed equally pleased with their meals. In short, I'll be back. :) Thank you!

16/05/2026: Very good. The waitress was very pleasant. It's a shame it was so smoky; the ventilation is too weak. My eyes stung. Other customers were coughing. And the Lacoste wine wasn't good. I'm looking for improvement. Please don't take this the wrong way.

20/05/2026: I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant during my visit to Montpellier. The place is truly beautiful and peaceful, and it also has an outdoor terrace where I sat and ate. The waitresses were incredibly friendly. The dishes and desserts were also delicious and beautifully presented; I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The prices weren't too high either, so it offered good value for money. I highly recommend this restaurant.

08/05/2026: The food is seriously home-style, with a real homey feel. The service is friendly, and the waitress, Celia (or someone else), I think, is welcoming and smiling. The beer is good, and the terrace, which I love, is bathed in sunshine. The tables and chairs are made of wood… a lovely terrace in the summer. The interior of the Babote Tower, dating back to the 15th century or earlier, creates a warm, slightly medieval, convivial, and romantic atmosphere. Special mention for the Thai chicken wings, which are super crispy 🥰
