18/07/2026: I came with my family, and at first it was alright. My father-in-law had a bad impression when we called to make the reservation; the person was cold and unenthusiastic, but we went anyway. During the aperitif, halfway through his glass, my father-in-law noticed ants in it. Yes, ants, you read that right! My mother went to the bar to point it out, and the only thing the waitress could say wasn't, "Sorry, I'll change it for you," no, no, no, it was, "Oh! There's protein in there." The excuse was: with the heat, the bottle seals pop off (not the original caps, but the plastic bits used to measure the Picon), and so the ants get underneath, but I filter it with a cloth when I pour. Do you use the same cloth for every drink? Because in that case, there are some hygiene issues that need to be addressed. At the end of the meal, she even told us it had been a long time since she'd served a martini. Excuse me? What are we supposed to make of that? That ants have been decomposing in the martini for months? If you still decide to go, I advise you to check your glass carefully; it's a shame, because this restaurant has real potential...
27/06/2026: Good food... But avoid this restaurant during hot weather. The air conditioning is inadequate and often broken or disconnected, making for an unpleasant meal.

18/06/2026: A really nice restaurant where you receive a warm welcome. The owner goes out of his way for his customers and does everything he can to make sure you leave with a smile. The all-you-can-eat Flam's on Tuesdays is fantastic, with excellent value for money.

23/07/2026: Went with our two teenagers for dinner and drinks at about 8pm. Atmosphere was great, we played card games, me and my husband had a few drinks and we all enjoyed our dinner choices. Staff were friendly and helpful and we didn’t feel out of place or a nuisance, with other families also in the Cafe and everyone enjoying the evening. Highlights were the home made pistachio cheesecake for dessert and the selection of natural wines. Would highly recommend.

For our Christmas meal, they went all out; we were lucky enough to taste a delicious homemade terrine.

03/08/2026: We're on vacation in the area and I was craving fondue. I tried the Swiss fondue and it was amazing. My family ordered hamburgers and they were very good. The service and atmosphere were also excellent.

06/08/2026: A wonderful place for typical Alsatian cuisine. Delicious coucroute and an excellent glass of Gewürztraminer. Discovered by chance on my way home and immediately made a mental note to return.
05/08/2026: We had a wonderful time at this Alsatian restaurant. The welcome was warm, the service attentive, and the dishes were generous, flavorful, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. The Alsatian specialties were authentic and delicious, served in a friendly and typical regional atmosphere. A truly excellent place that I recommend without hesitation. We will gladly return!

24/04/2026: The staff were incredibly welcoming, full of helpful advice and great recommendations. The location is ideal for visiting the center of Strasbourg. The room and bathroom were clean and functional. Thank you again for the stay and the warm welcome.
15/02/2026: The room was quite small and lacked any particular charm, with closet doors that only opened partially. Soundproofing was inadequate: on weekends, noise from nightlife could be disruptive (waking up around 5 a.m.). On the plus side, the bedding was very good quality.
The lack of a physical reception made the experience feel somewhat cold and impersonal: instructions were sent by email and keys had to be collected at the entrance. However, the central location was a real advantage, allowing quick access to amenities. The price-quality ratio was still acceptable.

We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening, and the food was truly excellent, with very good service. The owner is the chef and uses fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The room was large, comfortable, and clean.
The breakfast was comprehensive; nothing was missing.
We will gladly return.
01/06/2026: We were very disappointed with our visit to the restaurant. The Mother's Day menu, paper napkins, and the very limited meal for 40 euros were all very noisy. Good evening.

02/07/2026: Restaurant in the center of the village of Gambsheim. Parking available in front. It's spacious and has a terrace at the back. The menu is very comprehensive, featuring meats, salads, pizzas, and tarte flambée. The latter two are cooked in a wood-fired oven. The waitress was very friendly. We opted for an Antipasti platter and an oriental pizza. The platter was excellent and very generously topped, but the pizza itself was so-so. The crust was very thin, like tarte flambée dough. I think they could do better. The pineapple carpaccio was excellent, but the strawberries with whipped cream could have been colder. A good place to eat.
29/06/2026: First visit to Au Vieux Fournil. Pleasant setting and warm welcome.
Flammed tarts and pizzas. The same dough for both, which is unusual. The tarte flambée is slightly thick, while the pizza is thin, but both are very good.
The tarte flambée filling is excellent, generously topped, resulting in a superb round tarte flambée served on a plate.
The pizza has a thin crust, a very good tomato sauce, and toppings made with quality ingredients.
In conclusion, the tarte flambée/pizza combination, using the same base, allows both to be made in the same oven, and the result is original and impressive. A delightful surprise.
This restaurant is a great find; we will be back.

26/04/2026: Despite what some might say, this is the best taco I've ever had. I've been a customer and a fan of this restaurant for a few years now, so much so that even after moving further away, I remain loyal and make the trip to see it. The welcome is always warm, I've had some great times there, and I've had some good chats with our very own Sam.
I highly recommend it; the food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful!
02/04/2026: The manager is very professional and friendly; he prepares your tacos with care.
They're always generously filled, and I'm never disappointed when I go there.
I highly recommend him.
