19/06/2026: We were promised an authentic Portuguese culinary experience (the food was fine for me), but I'm not sure Portugese cuisine has to include so many condescending remarks about your looks and unnecessary amounts of touching to the face and shoulders while serving you. My child was unnecessarily touched on their face and shoulders repeatedly, having handled food and drink immediately prior to coming to visit our table. This left them feeling uncomfortable and mildly distressed deform the experience. When the bill was presented the same waitress made a remark about how the young man was paying, which maybe didn't translate well from Portugese to French but it came across as rude. Any interaction with this waitress just made our visit to this restaurant worse, which is a shame as the outdoor setting is beautiful and they take great care in the decor. The other waiters and waitresses didn't seem so condescending towards the guests. The menu itself is very meat heavy and a bit light on vegetables. Order the fish with a soup for a decent experience otherwise they don't season the meat very much. The drinks are at least ok and the whole meal was reasonably priced for Strasbourg. Shame it had to be ruined by the waitress.

30/08/2026: Absolutely stellar lunch with my wife at the Chef’s table. Ordered the five course with the wine pairing and we received the 7 course by accident. It was lovely and we cannot wait to return.

20/09/2026: The cooking was perfect and the food was very good; however, for a fifth star, the seasoning would have been more precise (unanimous opinion from everyone at the table), and the hazelnut dessert, while excellent, deserved to be fresher and have a bit of a crunch. Such a good sauce deserves to be mopped up; it's a shame you have to ask for bread when it runs out. The wine was simply excellent, and the recommendation was very good. The price justifies these minor observations. We will definitely return.

The stunning view, the stylish ambiance, and the pleasant mood created the perfect setting for a special evening. I would particularly like to commend the service: The entire team was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and highly professional. I felt warmly welcomed and exceptionally well cared for at all times, without the service ever being intrusive. This is exactly the kind of dining one expects at this level. The culinary experience was also a true highlight. I had the Fleur de saumon Bömlo en gravlax, the Filet de bar, and for dessert, the Noisettement vôtre. Each dish was not only delicious but also presented with meticulous attention to detail and exquisite presentation. The flavors were wonderfully balanced, and each dish had its own distinct character. The carefully selected wine pairings were also excellent and perfectly complemented each course. Overall, a wonderful combination of excellent cuisine, outstanding service, a stylish ambiance, and a breathtaking view. A restaurant I highly recommend and will certainly remember fondly for a long time. A truly wonderful experience – I will gladly return!

Celebrating our civil partnership in this iconic Strasbourg establishment, founded in 1840, wasn't simply an opportunity to discover a fine restaurant: it was choosing a venue worthy of a moment that meant so much to us. And the experience far exceeded our expectations. From the very first minutes, everything exuded elegance without ever feeling cold. The setting, the service, the structure and pace of the meal… everything was meticulously planned, yet never overly formal. We truly felt welcomed with a smile and genuine warmth. Sometimes these kinds of establishments can be intimidating for newcomers or young people seeking new experiences, but not here at all; we enjoyed an exceptional and personalized experience. And then there's the cuisine. Let's get serious! This is gastronomy that aims to impress, working with ingredients with remarkable precision. The dishes are refined feats, choreographed, generous in both emotion and quantity. Every detail seems to have its purpose. Special mention goes to the blue lobster, a true highlight of the meal. Its preparation right before our eyes, with the ravioli, the jus, and that finishing touch that transforms the dish into a veritable spectacle at the table, will certainly remain one of the most memorable aspects of our experience. This is exactly what I love about fine dining: when technique fades into the background, giving way to pleasure, and you remember a moment as much as a dish. As one of the restaurant's signature dishes, and rightly so, I am impressed and delighted to have been able to explore the full menu, having chosen the appropriate tasting menu. The wine pairing was sumptuous, but I found the non-alcoholic pairing for my wife a bit repetitive, though thankfully she still enjoyed it very much, and that's ultimately what matters! What I remember most is the restaurant's ability to transform a dinner into a veritable ballet. We came to celebrate something important to us. We left with an even more cherished memory. Thank you to the team at Au Crocodile (or Au Crocodile, I'm not sure which you prefer), for this exceptional experience, for the cuisine, for the service, and for the thoughtful touches that made a young couple so happy. A grand Strasbourg establishment, a truly great restaurant… and now, a place that holds a very special place in our hearts. We'll be back, perhaps even at the chef's table.

15/09/2026: Excellent food. But note: In restaurants like these, the size of the portions is inversely proportional to the price.

18/09/2026: Save your time and dont wait in the queue! Okay food, bad service. I must say waiters work hard, almost running while taking/bringing the orders. However, attitude is not pleasant as shared in other comments. No excuses for eye rolling and making noises while serving to customer - although it may be acceptable French behavior. As for the food, flams are good but I am sure you can find similar tastes in other places in the city.

09/09/2026: A family visit to this Alsatian restaurant, with its lovely, traditional decor. It was a Thursday evening, so it wasn't very busy and therefore not noisy. The waitress and waiter were very pleasant and attentive. The meals were very generous and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The prices are average, but the generous portions are much appreciated! A great find.

21/09/2026: I'll never set foot in that place again. We went there calmly to order, and they refused to serve us, saying they'd be closing in 20 minutes, even though they're open until 10 PM. This isn't the first time; it's discriminatory behavior... AVOID AT ALL COSTS
