02/08/2026: As a Chinese customer, I felt unwelcome. Unfortunately, that's the impression I was left with from the experience. I stopped in Bellegarde to catch a connecting train and wanted to eat at a Chinese restaurant. Upon entering, I spoke Chinese to the owner, but she pretended not to understand. Yet, Chinese music was playing in the restaurant, and she insisted on speaking to me only in French, with a strong Chinese accent. My train was leaving an hour later. I asked her if I had enough time to eat. She replied that she would have to ask the chef first, that they were very busy and weren't sure they could prepare a dish, suggesting I get takeout instead. However, there was only one other table occupied in the entire restaurant. I explained that I could eat quickly and, if I ran out of time, take the food to go. Despite this, she seemed very reluctant. Without a word, without even looking at me, she simply gestured towards a table. Faced with this attitude, I didn't feel welcome and ultimately decided to leave the restaurant without eating.

01/07/2026: Excellent traditional cuisine. High-quality dishes that taste fresh. A welcome change from buffets! Very generous portions and impeccable service. I highly recommend it if you want to treat yourself!

19/08/2026: A large asian buffet restaurant for 22.90 euro. In addition to the large range of precooked foods there is a wok and grill station, choose from a wide range of seafood inc large tiger prawns, shells, razor clams, fish, steak etc and get it cooked to order with tour choice of 5 sauces. Drinks are reasonable price and theres a large dessert selection. Food quality varies and the food isnt very hot but it is absolutely good value. Atmosphere scored down due to toddlers allowed to run around by their parents... not strictly the resraurants fault. Some staff exceptional, others just fine. A handy place to stay when stopping at one of the range of nearby hotels.

27/08/2026: Always a pleasure to visit Canard Laqué! 🦆 A Chinese restaurant like few others: home-style cooking, generous and delicious, with very pleasant and warm service. 🍜 The dishes are hearty and always very popular. Special mention also goes to the decor, which immerses you in a truly authentic and exotic Chinese atmosphere. 🥢🐲 An address I happily recommend! 🦆

06/07/2026: Whether you're dining for two or five, you'll receive the same attentive service. The food is delicious and far superior to all-you-can-eat restaurants. The presentation is beautiful and the staff very welcoming. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

17/08/2026: Out of all places. This was probably the most disappointing. The food was hit and miss. The wontons lacked prawns. The rice noodles appeared to be the dry kind not the fresh ones. Apart from that the other dishes were ok. The prawns in the cheung fun lacked seasoning. The service was hit and miss. Asked for water lady kept repeating out loud you mean free water. I ordered a red bean drink which was quite good. Food arrived quickly. Lady just seemed to be want to be elsewhere. Aircon was alright. When the free water arrived in a jug I had to ask for cups. Has to grab sauces ourselves for some of the dishes. Prices reasonable. When I went to pay at counter lady reminded boss not to forget to add res bean drink. I paid a small tip.

19/09/2026: Great selection of food in the buffet. Not just Chinese food. Perfect stop before the ferry home!

18/08/2026: Excellent Peking duck, everyone loved it, I was a little less convinced by the noodles but the rest was excellent.

06/09/2026: The cocktails and food were surprisingly delicious, with a wide variety of choices – it was really good! However, the service almost ruined the evening; there seemed to be a lack of staff and a lack of organization, which is a shame.

02/09/2026: Nice neighborhood bistro. Quick service. The platters are filled with good quality ingredients, but I find the other tapas quite expensive for the portion size. The drinks menu, on the other hand, is extensive, with something for everyone. I recommend having lunch there during the week; the set lunch menu is affordable and quite original, with well-thought-out vegetarian options.

13/06/2026: Amazing restaurant, come and visit! Sometimes it's not crowded at all on weekends. The food is simply fantastic, the owner is very welcoming, and the portions are high quality and generous. I'll definitely be back soon ❤️❤️
