08/05/2026: I'm updating my previous review because I've been coming to La Table du Lamen for years and have always loved it. It used to be a real gem for me: I especially adored the pork rib soup with thick noodles. The homemade pasta was delicious, and the flavors felt authentic, generous, and comforting. I also appreciated the restaurant's friendly atmosphere, the efficient service, the wide selection of dishes, and the fact that they once allowed me to bring my dog ​​in, which I greatly valued. It's precisely because I loved this restaurant so much that my last visit was such a disappointment. I came with friends to whom I had enthusiastically recommended it, but this time the experience didn't live up to my memories at all. We felt that the portions weren't as generous as they used to be. The chicken noodle soup was rather bland, with fatty bits that my friend didn't like. The spare rib soup, which used to be my favorite dish, seemed much less flavorful than before: less aromatic, less substantial, and overall less comforting. We also ordered a chicken and vegetable stew for €16. For the price, we found it expensive for what it was: little meat, a weak chicken flavor, a lot of fat, lots of celery, cilantro, and vegetables, but a disappointing overall balance. The most regrettable point was that one of my friends felt unwell after the spare rib soup and ended up vomiting. I can't say for sure what caused it, but it obviously significantly impacted our experience. I'm genuinely sad to write this, as I've had some truly excellent experiences here in the past. I used to recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it in the same way. I hope it was just an off day or a bad time of year, but we left very disappointed after this visit. I sincerely hope it was just an off day, because I used to love this place. But unfortunately, on this particular visit, the value for money and the flavors were no longer up to the standard I had experienced before.

29/08/2026: Excellent restaurant with a very pleasant welcome; the food is very good. My meals were well packaged as I ordered takeout. The prices are reasonable. This restaurant was a great find.

31/08/2026: Small parking lot and the dining room wasn't very big either, a bit cramped, but otherwise we ate well and the food was fresh.

18/08/2026: New to the area, a friend said he had eaten there before but was ill afterwards but decided to try it for myself. The majority of the dishes were really great and I enjoyed the food but there were 2 dishes that I stopped eating because they were not pleasant and for the last 24 hours ive been ill with food poisoning, which prompted me in writing this review. I did initially give 2 stars for the majority of dishes but in hindsight, because I have been so ill have decided to reduce down to 1 star - you should not have to play Russian roulette with the dishes you eat - all should be safe to eat! Note: Since I wrote this review the restaurant was closed for a few months because it failed food hygiene standards and on its re-operning we have seen a much improved quality of the food so i'll up the stars to 3 now - if I could recommend anything it would be to change the dishes being offered because it is a limited offering and you get a little bored if the menu does not change. New to the area, a friend told me he'd eaten there before but got sick afterward, so I decided to try it myself. Most of the dishes were truly excellent, and I enjoyed the food, but I stopped eating two dishes because they weren't pleasant. Over the past 24 hours, I've been sick with food poisoning, which prompted me to write this review. I initially gave most of the dishes two stars, but in hindsight, because I was so ill, I've decided to reduce it to one star. You shouldn't have to play Russian roulette with the food you eat—everything should be good to eat!

06/05/2026: Review given in response to Aurélie Ehret's opinion: My partner and I were also at this restaurant on Valentine's Day, and personally, we found the menu to be more than good, a cut above the regular menu. Excellent value for money for this kind of evening. Note that we eat there very regularly outside of Valentine's Day and we highly recommend it. The daily special is more than adequate with a good selection (available on Saturdays, no less). The best part: they accept dogs.

26/09/2026: Excellent cuisine with traditional recipes and an intimate setting. I recommend the grilled ravioli and the cucumber salad!

11/07/2026: The food is good, and sometimes very good. But... The opening hours are not respected. Several times I've found the door closed when the restaurant should have been open. Secondly, the service is slow because the owner does everything herself. It's a huge amount of work. Perhaps that's why she can sometimes be rather bossy with customers. This might seem amusing at first, although it eventually becomes tiresome.

30/06/2026: I came with my little boy yesterday around 1:30 pm. The welcome was very pleasant, the meal was delicious, my son ate everything and the portions were generous. We thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the spring rolls and coconut pearls. Well done and thank you, I will be back.

21/06/2026: Their behavior is very bad and I have been waiting for a long time. They are not paying me anything. When I say the food is ready, they are talking to me very rudely.

07/09/2026: If you need something quick and cheap, it’s a good deal. I had lunch earlier the day that was filling but I knew by 6 PM, hunger was gonna strike again. So I elected to get something to tide me over until morning.

15/07/2026: Excellent selection of Cantonese food for anyone who needs good Chinese food. We ordered the Cantonese Fried Rice, Thick Noodles, Sweet & Sour & Spicy Chicken, tofu & veg, and shrimp in sauce. The couple who run the restaurant are very nice and take care into their restaurant. Worth a visit for any local or tourist.

04/06/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. All the staff were very kind and attentive. We were just a little disappointed with the rice, which was dry (curry rice/Cantonese rice).

14/02/2026: Having eaten in many Chinese restaurants, both in France and abroad, I can say that this one is clearly among the best in France. The dishes are excellent and, above all, authentic: they aren't "adapted" to the French palate; the flavors are bold, balanced, and truly present. You can feel the respect for traditional recipes. For example, the pho is served with all the authentic accompaniments (bean sprouts, lemon, chili paste, chilies, etc.), which is quite rare and worth mentioning. The portions are generous; you leave feeling more than satisfied, and the value for money is simply unbeatable considering the quality offered. A restaurant I wholeheartedly recommend to lovers of authentic Asian cuisine!

06/06/2026: I was unpleasantly surprised by this restaurant. When I walked in, the waitress had a huge, ear-to-ear smile and asked me what I wanted. My bladder was incredibly full, so my first concern was to empty it and then think about what to eat. I asked her to show me the restroom, and her face tightened, and she said, "€2, madam." I asked, "€2 for what?" She confirmed that the €2 was for the restroom. I gave her the €2 I had in my pocket and went to the restroom (I didn't really have a choice). However, I left and had lunch at the restaurant across the street where I should have been able to empty my bladder for free too, but oh well! Never again will I set foot in that place.

02/06/2026: The waiter was fantastic in the evening. The buffet is expensive. There are no group rates. It's wiser and healthier to order à la carte and avoid fried foods. The flavor enhancer is heavily used in the dishes and has consequences for appetite and the body. The establishment should inform customers about the effects of this salty ingredient, which can cause euphoria.

15/06/2026: A pretty nice restaurant with a lovely and immersive atmosphere. The place is very quiet, perhaps even a little too quiet, but still pleasant. The dishes are very good, generous portions, and the prices are reasonable. The waitress was also super friendly. If you're looking to eat sushi, don't hesitate :)

24/07/2026: A truly beautiful establishment, with welcoming, friendly, and warm staff. As friends with a Vietnamese couple who own a restaurant in Aubagne, I'm usually very critical when comparing different restaurants, as my friends are exceptional cooks. But the cuisine at Le Jardin de Jade rivals theirs; I'd place it on the same level. My wife had Thai salad, I had Chinese salad, followed by beef satay on a hot plate and sweet and sour pork—yum, what a treat! Thank you, gentlemen; we'll be back on our next visit, you can be sure of that.
