04/08/2024: As a family of 5 with children under 7, we ordered the chicken and beef dishes. No warning from the waitress of what was to come.
5 minutes later 2 sizzling hot stones were put on the table. This set the alarm bells off but I assumed it was for the beef. Then the food arrived and we realised it was for both the beef and the chicken.
Raw chicken on the same plate as the salad and potatoes. I should have just paid the money and left there and then but we attempted to cook it because the kids were starving. Instead of having a nice relaxing meal we were trying to cook chicken on small hot stones for the family. I guess this could be ok if you’re a couple sitting down for some food and wine over a long evening but when you have hungry children it is absolutely no fun at all.
We had to ask for plates that hadn’t had raw chicken on them for the kids to eat off. There was no separate cutlery for handling the raw meat. I questioned all this and one of the staff explained that this is fine in France. I cannot see anything online to back this up.
I’m all for trying new things when we go abroad. Feeding my kids food that has been on a plate with raw chicken will never be something that I can get my head around.

15/08/2024: Ma quanto sono buone le cozze in questo ristorante? Noi abbiamo provato due differenti preparazioni: le mie con Roquefort e la mia compagna con pancetta. Davvero gusstosissime e il piacere è aumentato quando, dopo averne mangiata qualcuna, si poteva mescolare le cozze nella pentola col cucchiaio per amalgamarle e insaporirle ancora meglio con la salsa che stava in fondo al contenitore. Davvero una delizia. Molto buone anche le patatine in abbinamento. Ok, ma non di pià, anche il tagliere di salumi e formaggi che ci siamo divisi come antipasto.
La location è molto suggestiva: nel cuore del centro storico del bellissimo borgo di Dinan e una nota di merito al servizio: giovane, professionale e capace di parlare in inglese!

09/08/2023: With its characteristic silhouette, this mid-15th century building called La Maison Mère Pourcel is located in the heart of Dinan.
With its imposing dimensions, this five-story house bears witness to the wealth of Dinan's merchants and the remarkable know-how of master carpenters at the end of the medieval period. The half-timbered structure, although functional, is original in its design. In contrast to the general plain exterior decoration, a small kneeling winged figure is carved on one of the corner posts, to the southeast of the house. Called “Saint-Dinan” by the Dinannais, it is in fact a representation of the Archangel Michael and its dresses are characteristic of fashion during the reign of the King of France Charles VII (1422-1461).
In February 2019, a dendrochronology study (tree belt) revealed a single construction period, with the woods coming from a single period of tree felling in the winter of 1457. The Pourcel Mother House was therefore built in spring 1458.
The origin of the name dates back to 1935, when Virginie Pourcel purchased a commercial lease from the City of Dinan in order to establish the “Café des porches”. After
necessary work, it opened in 1937. In December 1944 Jean Rosaz and his son
Jean-Claude took over and transformed the popular café into a gourmet restaurant
The medieval heritage of Dinan is exceptional but fragile Part of the city walls of Dinan collapsed in 2015, and now the fire of Mère Pourcel.
The fire of April 15, 2019 which struck Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral
triggered an unprecedented act of generosity on the part of the French and
lovers of heritage from around the world. The fire in Paris Cathedral revealed the
threat to our heritage. This is why the Heritage Foundation worked
for twenty years with owners, town halls and associations
protect the many buildings under threat throughout France. The City of Dinan will join the Heritage Foundation’s campaign entitled: “Never again!” ". A specific sponsorship campaign is launched for La Maison Mère Pourcel.

04/05/2024: Je suis surpris de voir ce restaurant avec une bonne notoriété descendre aussi bas. Des employés un peu surpris de devoir travailler un vendredi très peu de table occupée alors qu'avant restaurant blindé. vin rosé vinaigre surprise du serveur.

Malheureusement je ne recommande pas ce restaurant
02/04/2024: ce soir nul, pizza trop cuite ,garniture ,un peut de sauce tomate,60gramme de bœuf trois copeaux de parmesan et quelles feuilles de salades, le tout pour 15 €.un 25 cl de rosé imbuvable pour 9€ ,foutage de g---e, ils nous prennent pour des tirelires.

28/08/2024: Très bon mais aucun effort de fait pour les végétariens alors qu'on avait prévenu en réservant. Du coup, les deux végétariens ont payé le même prix alors que ça ne les valait pas
22/08/2024: Le cadre est moderne avec vue plongeante sur la plage de Trestraou.
L'acceuil et le service est agréable et millimétré. Difficile de trouver un reproche.
Les plats sont très travaillés, je vous laisse voir les photos. Les saveurs sont recherchées. Par exemple un quasi de veau subtilement assaisonné au curry de bretagne et un point de garniture au nori. La philosophie est d'allier cuisine bretonne avec des notes discrètes de cuisine étrangère. J'ai trouvé audacieux et moderne. Donc là aussi, difficile de trouver à redire.
Je ne sais pas si le cuisinier s'est disputé avec l'inspecteur gault&millau et qu'il s'est vengé mais le 11/20 est largement sous coté (je dirais qu'on est aux alentours 14/20)
En conclusion, profitez-en rapidement avant que gault&millau y retourne!

24/06/2024: We had an excellent stay at Marie's house. Marie and Daniel are very considerate and attentive to the welcome. The bedding is very comfortable and the rooms spacious. The house is quietly located and has very convenient parking. There is nothing to complain about, it is perfect and to be recommended without any hesitation. Well done !
