06/04/2026: The bedding was adequate, but there was no soundproofing whatsoever; we could hear doors slamming until late in the evening, the sounds of conversations from neighboring rooms, the toilets, etc. The decor was very dated, stuck in the 80s/90s, and the bathroom could be cleaner. The water temperature was difficult to regulate. Breakfast was decent but basic; €48 when booking for 4 people, but ultimately charged at €52.

21/08/2026: Hair found in my burger with no apology whatsoever. No gesture of goodwill. The profiteroles were made with industrial-grade cabbage and were inedible.

03/08/2026: A stay at Les Temps Gourmands in Mondrepuis left us with wonderful memories and a truly delightful first experience in a bed and breakfast. Rosine and Antoine are exceptionally welcoming, warm, and attentive hosts who know how to make their guests feel at ease from the moment they arrive. You quickly feel right at home. The setting is peaceful, verdant, and conducive to relaxation—ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of big cities. The breakfast is also worth mentioning: generous, varied, and prepared with care—a real treat. A friendly and authentic place that we enthusiastically recommend and where we gladly return.

13/09/2026: A truly wonderful discovery at the foot of Laon Cathedral. Upon our arrival at Logis du Parvis, we were greeted with great professionalism by the manager, who showed us inside. The rest of the experience lived up to expectations: two attentive waiters, available without ever being intrusive, striking the perfect balance that characterizes fine establishments. On the plate, authentic, generous, and perfectly executed home-style cooking. The veal chop, flavorful and remarkably cooked, was accompanied by delicious baked potatoes: a dish that appears simple but immediately reveals the quality of the ingredients and the chef's mastery of the cuisine. To finish, it was difficult to choose between the profiteroles and the superb homemade Baked Alaska, flambéed right before our eyes: a dessert as indulgent as it was spectacular. The wine was also a delightful surprise, with a Pomerol served by the glass, fruity, full-bodied, and powerful, which perfectly complemented the meal. What stands out most is the genuine consistency: expertly prepared ingredients, authentic homemade cuisine, impeccable and welcoming service, all in an exceptional setting, literally at the foot of the majestic Laon Cathedral. An address well worth the detour, and one we will gladly return to.

12/05/2026: My parents have just returned from their stay at La Tour du Roy and wanted to share their wonderful experience: “La Tour du Roy in Vervins, Thiérache, offered us a timeless escape with its charm and warm welcome. The resort and the village have a fascinating history. Michelin-starred Chef Annie Desvignes delighted us with her dishes, which were a true treat for our taste buds. Our respect to her and our thanks to her entire team. We also enjoyed a very pleasant and extremely professional massage. We had an exceptional time and will return as soon as we can.”

22/04/2026: A truly beautiful setting. A warm and distinguished welcome. A place steeped in history, full of charm for those who appreciate it. A delightful encounter with the staff and the owner. We are so glad that "chance" led us to this place. The bedding was of very high quality, and the rooms were spacious. The restaurant and its menus, created by Chef Madame Desvignes, were a true delight. Thank you for everything and for our wonderful conversations.

09/06/2026: For a second visit, it was truly disappointing. The service was utterly appalling, especially from the waiter who was clearly more concerned with finishing his shift than with the customers! And to top it all off, the bill was exorbitant: 127 euros for two people for a very disappointing experience, culminating in a so-called "revisited" Paris-Brest of extremely poor quality! Avoid at all costs.

06/06/2026: A quality restaurant; the servers are very attentive, checking on us to make sure everything is alright. The food is very good, made with only fresh ingredients; it's a pleasure to eat such good food. I recommend this restaurant if you enjoy eating fresh, high-quality products.

21/08/2026: My husband and I were served by a lovely cashier today. I think her name badge said Pauline. It's so nice to be served by such friendly people! (They're the couple from the Eco Plus ice cream shop.)

15/08/2026: Parking lot under renovation with solar carport. The spaces are a bit small due to the concrete blocks at the base of the carports.

18/09/2026: The ribeye steak was generous and the fries were a welcome accompaniment. I had a pleasant meal...

16/09/2026: Special mention goes to the raspberry macaron: indulgent without being too heavy. The menu offers a really nice selection of classic dishes and desserts.

05/04/2026: It's hard to find a good restaurant in this area. Maya was a pleasant surprise. The daily special (veal for Easter) was quite good. The dessert was acceptable. The coffee wasn't great. The setting, with its green outdoor area, could be quite appealing in good weather.

13/08/2026: A refreshing daily special. The portion size was just right. And their Mojito was amazing.

09/08/2026: The burgers were very good and generous. The cheese and charcuterie platter was also very generous.

22/06/2026: A 15-minute wait at the bar for a beer that I had to get myself because there was no table service... I paid for 7 beers even though the bill clearly stated 6. I strongly advise against using the contactless payment system. Last week I went there for the first time and ordered the butcher's cut, which was tough and bland. Even frozen Charal cheese is better (there's a butcher shop 50 meters away). They've lost a customer; they'll soon be down to just a handful of people going back.

05/08/2026: We came here based on good reviews. Unfortunately for us, it turned out not to be recommended. They have a limited menu, it is relatively expensive, the man is unfriendly, and it smells like dog. Not a single vegetarian option. The food itself wasn't inedible, but with 3 small potatoes and 2 carrots next to the scallops and a dollop of sauce on the plate, it really isn't how it should be for the price they charge. We did get an amuse-bouche of some toast with white cheese in a small pot. I found the interior to be a hodgepodge; the furniture didn't all come from the same historical period, so you don't need to go for that either. Skip it.

05/12/2025: The hotel is located in a quiet area, with plenty of parking; I was even able to park a 20m³ van! The manager was very welcoming, friendly, and had a great sense of humor, which was fantastic! The room was also very nice, the bedding was comfortable. The only downside was the TV, which couldn't find any channels (room 8); but for one night, it wasn't a big deal. The small bottle of water provided was a nice touch! Meals at the hotel were also good, with a pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was very good, served directly at the table; to be picky, I'd say an egg and a slice of bacon would have been perfect 🤙 Looking forward to returning! 🙂
