09/09/2026: Long wait for food despite place being almost empty. Most of menu not available. Tarte flambée was very good when it arrived though.

27/09/2026: September 27, 2026. When we asked if we could get a table for 11 people for coffee and snacks, we were met with eye rolls. Reluctantly, they showed us a table and handed us cutlery for everyone. The staff clearly didn't enjoy their jobs, the chairs were uncomfortable, and the prices were exorbitant. The composition of the soap in the restroom is open to wild speculation. The "Grand Café" is just a kind of double espresso. DO NOT GO!

25/09/2026: Run away from here 🤣 Onion soup made with chicken bouillon cubes is a disgrace to France. The Greek salad with corn and a mountain of iceberg lettuce also raises questions 🤣

18/09/2026: Beautiful location. Very kind waiters. The food is good and traditional, not excellent but good. The cake wasn't very fresh.

09/09/2026: Very nice and friendly service (the waiter specifically advised me to place my bicycle bag under the table in the outdoor area to prevent possible pickpockets), nicely set tables, reasonable prices: Unfortunately, the tarte flambée was partially burnt, but the topping was good and plentiful.

03/08/2026: We were extremely disappointed when, while eating, my boyfriend found a dead wasp inside his pancake, which could have been extremely dangerous for him and made us question the restaurant's hygiene. When I told the waitress, she replied, "These things happen." Then she asked if she should remake the dish or not, which seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, I strongly advise against going to this place.

02/08/2026: Went on a date there because it looked cute, I ordered the Vegan French toast, vegan coco cream with strawberries and spéculoos. I'm lactose intolerant so I chose the vegan option right away. But couple bites into it my stomach started aching and I didn't know why because there wasn't supposed to be any lactose in it. Then I started wondering if the vegan bread was cooked in butter (which has lactose in it) cause the cramps were so bad I couldn't finish my plate. We paid and on the bike home i almost puked 😅 On the bright side the place looked cute and the waitress was kind :) But I don't think we'll go again unfortunately 😅 (it's very pricey too)

14/09/2026: We came on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as a group of three, and were very well received by the waiter. Léo was very professional, friendly, and attentive. The meal was also very good.

11/09/2026: It was a wonderful experience! I ordered the steak, and the taste was absolutely incredible. The dish was prepared so professionally that I even had the chance to meet the chef and thank him personally. The waiter, Leo, was excellent—smiling, friendly, and helpful as always. The restaurant itself is spacious, with a beautiful atmosphere and lovely indoor and outdoor seating areas. I would definitely recommend visiting! 🤍

09/08/2026: Very good food at reasonable prices. Only the waffle was disappointing (too hard), go for the stridel!

19/09/2026: The food was unclear, as I didn't eat anything at all. The service was terrible; we sat there from 2:00 to 2:40 and no one served us. Then one server handed us a lunch menu, and after we ordered, another server told us it was afternoon and they only had afternoon menus (after 2:30). We left angrily, telling them we'd been there since 2:00 and no one had paid any attention to us. The server said it was fine.

11/09/2026: We came for the food and stayed for the entertainment. Ollie has a passion for food, beverages and hosting. He has lived a life to the fullest. Sadly, the restaurant is closing and he starts his next chapter. Thank you for a wonderfully warm, kind and fun filled evening. You certainly gave us an evening to remember! Best wishes

29/07/2026: Right in the heart of Strasbourg, not far from the town hall in the Krutenau district. Varied menus to suit all budgets. A warm welcome with a wonderful smile. You'll feel right at home.

05/05/2026: On the evening of April 30, 2026, my son, daughter-in-law, and I were looking forward to celebrating my birthday once again at La Maison des Tanneurs, a restaurant I have only fond memories of and have recommended many times. But what a disappointment! The sauerkraut was mediocre, the pike-perch tasteless... but the real low point was my vegetarian dish, which I wouldn't have dared serve to anyone at home: a mound of dry sauerkraut surrounded by bland or overly salty boiled vegetables, apart from two spoonfuls of cooked red cabbage. The overly sweet rhubarb tart had lost all its acidity, but the iced kougelhopf was good. What happened that evening?

16/08/2026: We had a beautiful evening here. The owners are cute and helpful with translating the French menu. The food was prepared with a lot of care (you can see jars with selfmade fermented vegetables all over the place), the atmosphere is cozy, and everything tasted amazing. We had the tomato gazpacho as a starter, and duck breasts as a main dish. We would have loved to try some desserts, but were stuffed. In addition, they have great wine.

14/09/2026: We were there for a company event. They served tarte flambée. Everything was to my satisfaction. The interior is exactly to my taste: rustic, antique, and cozy.

14/09/2026: The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. The restaurant has a very unique decor and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.
