27/09/2026: Recommended by a vendor at the Saturday market, we went here for a coffee that we were told was the best in Bayeux, on par with Italian coffee. I can confirm that it's all true: the coffee is truly good, the place is very cute, and the staff is very welcoming and kind. The price is also lower than many others in the area. Highly recommended!

28/09/2026: What a wonderful dinner at La Alcove! From the moment we walked in, we loved the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The service was wonderful, and they have a very nice wine list. Everything from the appetizer through dessert was impeccable. The carrot appetizer was absolutely delicious—and it was amazing how beautifully they presented it and, even more importantly, how incredible it tasted. The fish entrée was outstanding, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. And don’t miss dessert—it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. La Alcove is definitely one of our favorites. We highly recommend it!

13/10/2026: Thank you for the meal! We had the savory crepes and they were excellent!! Generously filled with delicious ingredients, they were perfect! We enjoyed every bite, from beginning to end, because of course, we couldn't leave without trying the sweet crepes. Plus, we received a very warm welcome from the staff! Thank you again, and we'll definitely be back.

12/10/2026: Very excellent dinner in Bayeau. Staff was friendly, service was excellent. We had a chicken dish in a Camembert cheese sauce with mushrooms that was amazing. Also had the lamb shank prepared perfectly. Definitely get a reservation as many had to be turned away at the door.

30/09/2026: The restaurant was recommended to us by our local hosts and diner at Le P’tit Resto was indeed an excellent experience in French food. Seated outside, with a beautiful view of the cathedral, we had a very nice 3-course diner, very well prepared and presented. The dark chocolate desert was fingerlicking good.

30/09/2026: This was our 2. visit to Bayeux, but our 1. chance to dine at Le P’tit Resto, it had always been fully booked before. Now we understand why! The service was outstanding. Our server spoke excellent English and stayed wonderfully calm even when the restaurant became very busy. She and her colleague managed everything with such warmth and skill. I’ve worked in hospitality myself, and I know how much that takes. Those two are worth their weight in gold. The food was just as impressive. The chefs deserve a star of their own! Every cent was worth it, and we would happily come back.

16/09/2026: The food is very good, but the major drawback is the wait, even though we had a reservation. We received our meal an hour and a half after ordering. What a shame. Two hours for a main course and dessert.

16/09/2026: We were made to feel unworthy when we arrived without booking. When that same greeter asked for drink orders, he yelled at me for asking for what cocktails they offered with Chartreuse. Note that two very large bottles were displayed prominently at the bar. He shouted, "Chartreuse is a digestif!" and stomped away. Later a waitress came and I ordered a gin with Chartreuse and lemon juice. After awhile she returned and stated that they couldn't mix cocktails. Note that the blackboard displayed two cocktail specials, a Bloody Mary and a London Fog. The food was good but not great. Our order of the velvety vegetables produced a gruel-gray soup that while tasty, looked like death. The chicken was actually delicious, but the escargot, if you could fine them, tasted like nothing but butter and herbs. By the way, when we left, many tables remained open despite the "booking" pretense. If this is your idea of a French restaurant experience, go for it. For me , it was insulting. By the way on our two previous nights in Bayeux, we had delightful restaurant experiences.
