17/05/2026: A very enjoyable time at Le Carpe Diem. The place is quite discreet, a little off the beaten path, with a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The service is delightful. The menu features Burgundian cuisine, with frog legs 🐸 and snail croquettes being a real surprise. The veal kidney with mustard sauce is very flavorful, and the beef bourguignon is melt-in-your-mouth tender. Paired with a good red Burgundy, it's hard to imagine a better experience!

17/05/2026: An ideal place to discover Burgundian cuisine skillfully reimagined by the chef. A warm welcome and excellent value for money. It's slightly set back from Place de la Libération, but well worth the trip! Book ahead, you won't be disappointed.

24/06/2026: La Causerie des Mondes is a wonderful café/restaurant offering excellent coffee as well as tea and chocolate. They have a great bakery with a delicious assortment of sweet treats, and their menu had a small but interesting selection of meals, as well. Its location is just a few minutes’ walk from the palace but it's away from the jammed streets that plague most of the central area during the tourist season. Consequently, its atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, both in their outside seating area as well as a charming interior space.

07/07/2026: A great spot in the heart of Dijon. Pleasant terrace, but the interior decor is also very attractive. Attentive service. A good, reasonably priced wine list.

01/07/2026: Just dining on the terrace while overlooking the quiet square was enough to make me feel the leisure of the trip. The food was impressive, from the plating to the fresh ingredients and delicate sauces. I will visit again.

23/05/2026: The three of us went out for a day in Dijon. We hadn't booked a restaurant, and this was the only affordable one close to where we were staying. The price of the set menu (€22) was perfectly reasonable for a starter, main course, and dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this restaurant. Please don't make the same mistake we did and book ahead to avoid going hungry.

30/06/2026: What a fantastic evening! Jeff was an outstanding host and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were truly spoiled throughout the entire evening with warm hospitality and genuine attention to detail. The selection of freshly prepared dishes was excellent, everything was delicious and clearly made with great care. The wines were perfectly chosen and complemented the food beautifully. What really made the experience special was the atmosphere. Jeff has a remarkable way of making his guests feel completely at home, turning a great meal into a memorable evening. There was absolutely nothing to criticize, and considering the quality of the food, wine, and hospitality, the price was more than fair. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

18/07/2026: Passing through Dijon, we decided on "Le Piano qui fume" (The Smoking Piano). Dinner was perfect from start to finish: an aperitif with an excellent olive cake to whet our appetites, followed by a chilled zucchini and Comté cheese soup as an amuse-bouche (very refreshing in the heat). For my discerning partner: roasted duck breast with red pepper and Savora mustard emulsion, then a cheese plate from Burgundy and Franche-Comté, and to finish, a soft dark chocolate cake with passion fruit sorbet. For me: "Fresh from the market" fish (salmon that day) and a peach salad with lemon and olive oil, served with verbena ice cream. The meal was divine, the service impeccable, and the setting pleasant with beautiful exposed stone walls. I'm keeping the menu for our next trip to Dijon.
