01/04/2026: Honestly, I chose this accommodation by default, but when I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised: - The staff were incredibly kind, from morning till night, with genuine attentiveness and great politeness. - The building itself isn't much to look at, but the room was completely renovated and even had a bathtub, which was a nice surprise. The bedding was comfortable, and my room was clean. The only downside was the soundproofing; I could hear my neighbors, but I always sleep with earplugs, so I wasn't bothered. - Having arrived in an electric car, I was pleased to find that there were charging stations available. - Finally, the breakfast was simple but very good. Thank you to the team.

18/01/2026: I spent a week at this hotel, a renovated former campanile. The bedding is good quality. The rooms are decent and air-conditioned. The breakfast is quite comprehensive. I have fond memories of my stay; the price is much lower than other hotels in the Niort industrial area.

08/12/2025: Passing through on the road one lunchtime. The €32.XX set menu was excellent value for money. The food was refined, with seasonal vegetables and perfect seasoning. There were four of us, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was polite, helpful, and even attentive (refilling the water carafe, adding bread, etc.). +++++ As for the food, it's been a long time since I've been so pleasantly surprised!

02/06/2026: A warm welcome, as always, from Mr. and Mrs. Guignard and their team, including the delightful Maxime. After a homemade non-alcoholic aperitif, concocted by the "Maxiologist"—a must-try for its flavors and originality—we sampled the spring menu once again. The dishes are superbly presented, the tastes and flavors blending in a beautiful, inventive, and perfectly balanced harmony. Starters, main courses, and desserts are creative and delicate, yet understated—just like this wonderful Niort restaurant, which we never tire of. We'll be back soon, and thank you. It's always a true pleasure to share a meal with you. The setting is also magnificent, decorated with taste and refinement. The products are sourced from excellent local producers, using short supply chains. We returned for Mother's Day. The special menu was very tempting, and it was excellent and very complete; see the photo below. The flavors are straightforward, without the fuss and frills that detract from so many culinary creations. Despite a full terrace and a few diners inside, the service was, as always, quick, personalized, and efficient. A wonderful time shared with my mother, thanks to the entire team at La Belle Étoile. Thank you very much.

04/02/2026: Passing through Cerizay for a business meeting, I was recommended L'Atelier restaurant for lunch. The restaurant opens at noon. The warm welcome was excellent, and the explanation of the set menus was clear. The restrooms were very clean. The buffet was well-stocked, with three main course options—simple but generous—and a choice of three or four different desserts. The atmosphere was friendly, like a canteen. Consider making a reservation, as it's becoming increasingly popular.

26/03/2026: Hello 👋 dear foodie friends and gourmets... Today, while passing through Thouars for work, I decided to try this place since I didn't have time to go to my usual spot in the town center. Regarding the atmosphere and style, the decor is really dated, a sort of pseudo-country style from the 70s or 80s... Not necessarily a big deal, though; what matters most is the quality of the food and service... As for the daily specials and menu, it's really difficult to find what you're looking for because there are lots of chalkboards on the walls, but you can't make heads or tails of them... they could just display the daily specials... As for drinks, there's no menu; they just ask you what you want to drink without telling you the price... I tried an oriental pizza 🍕 which didn't leave a lasting impression; the crust was quite soggy. As you've probably gathered, this first attempt wasn't conclusive for me, and in my humble opinion, you can easily find better options in this area. As always, opinions are subjective, so feel free to visit and form your own opinion. Take care. Thierry.

20/03/2026: Keep walking, good people! Industrial food, nothing fresh, except maybe a bagged salad. More drinkers than eaters, a drunken atmosphere! Fries as greasy as can be, cooked in motor oil. Saint Macoux has better options, and the rest of the area is better too. This place is nothing like anything else in its class; its only advantage is its accessibility!

10/12/2025: Lunch menu with main course and dessert: duck shepherd's pie in a very small portion, not even a salad... Dessert was basically baked eggs served in a ridiculously small portion with a slice of tasteless, dry chocolate cake. Very disappointed with the quantity for the price.
