03/01/2026: Chance, hunger, and the cold led us to this restaurant just after New Year's Eve. Arriving on a Friday evening at 8:30 pm without a reservation, we were welcomed and received a warm reception. We loved the place and the atmosphere; we were served very quickly. My husband chose the steak tartare, and I had the octopus and grilled cuttlefish. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal; I had never eaten such tender octopus. The desserts were also excellent, especially the banoffee pie. We will be back.

04/11/2025: The owner cooks and serves us with a warm welcome. Set menu €17 Black pudding mousse with creamy leek fondue sauce – a delight! Extra tender sirloin steak with pumpkin purée and porcini mushroom purée – a generous portion! Cheese plate (4 different cheeses) Chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream Coffee 1/4 bottle of wine Special mention for the very crusty bread... I will definitely return!

30/11/2025: We had a lovely time as a family, enjoying a delicious meal, especially the oysters and the seafood spaghetti. One minor point: the fish soup. Why did they put pieces of fish in it? Perhaps the menu prices could also be reviewed.

26/01/2026: It's not what it used to be... the starter wasn't great, then the chicken... which wasn't cooked at all... the taste and smell weren't great... too long a wait between courses... the main course arrived barely lukewarm... in short, I don't know if we'll go back... the people at the next table were nice...

Didier is a character, friendly, authentic, who loves traditional cuisine, without fuss with restaurant codes despite everything. A unique, copious, quality menu, homemade with products chosen by him. Very good time, very well eaten, very warm welcome. We'll come back.

10/08/2025: Great experience! We arrived at 7:15 pm, a group of 5 of us, and were seated directly on the terrace. The service was a bit slow, but there was only one person there, so nothing to worry about, and the dishes were all delicious and very generous. I highly recommend this establishment.

07/08/2025: A superb address for our evening meal 🤩 Recommended by Thibault, the young owner of Fon Fon, faultless! Top-notch cuisine! Adorable waitress (Katia) with formidable efficiency and exceptional kindness. The owner kindly explained a few little cooking secrets to these lentils, which we'll keep secret here. A big thank you to him 😊👍 The aligot with pork loin is remarkably delicate, served with a small, high-quality mixed salad. For my part, I went for a fillet of salmon trout from the small river 3 km from the restaurant. Simply remarkable, perfectly cooked, with a little blue cheese sauce. I finished with dessert. A verbena sorbet and verbena liqueur cup. Amazing 🤩 The interior of the restaurant is very cozy. Very nice. And the prices are very reasonable. So, we didn't hesitate, just went for it!

03/09/2024: I hesitated before writing this review because usually when I don't like a restaurant I don't do anything: maybe it wasn't the right day, catering is difficult, it's a local business that it is appropriate not to criticize. I make an exception for Les Bruyères because I was treated in a way that was unwelcome and totally unprofessional. I enter this restaurant one afternoon without a reservation and the owner tells me that there will be no place before 1 p.m. Well, no luck. I decide to take a look at the room and the buffet to find out if I'm waiting until 1 p.m. and/or if I find a friend at a table who would like to accommodate me and then the owner comes upon me and asks me to come out of her room immediately. establishment: “I’m the boss and I’m telling you to get out!!!”. Faced with such a lack of courtesy and sense of commercial relations, I immediately head towards the door where the owner barely insults me for not leaving more quickly. Anyway, I just got thrown out. Well, otherwise the room is a common canteen room, furnished as a cafeteria, very noisy and uninteresting. The all-you-can-eat buffet doesn't seem any more interesting and we can guess its origin without any problem. In short, to run away, which is what I did.

21/09/2025: We had lunch there after the bike ride up Mont Mézenc. We received a cold welcome and were very surprised when we got the bill. We noticed an extra charge of 2 x €1.50 for charging our bike batteries! We hadn't been informed that this was an extra charge, and only one of the two cyclists had their battery charged! We still had 4 menus at €27 each and found the whole process quite disappointing. It's a shame because the food is decent.
