06/08/2026: We've been coming here regularly for almost 25 years now, and for the first time, we left without dinner… After 45 minutes of nothing, we took the liberty of asking about our order, to which we were told that we had apparently agreed together that we had cancelled it… We were really keen to introduce our friends to this place. We'll still come back, though, because we know that tonight's service didn't reflect the usual high quality.

22/06/2026: Pros - Friendly, efficient English-speaking staff - Views from the rooms and spa were incredible - Excellent range of options at the breakfast buffet and opened at 06.30 so eat then get out for the day early - Able to use facilities of hotel on day of checkout. We were kindly allowed to use the spa and hotel showers on the afternoon after we had checked out at no additional cost. This meant we were able to run all day and freshen up before heading to the airport. A really nice touch as meant you could maximise time in Chamonix rather than wait for flight home. - Toiletries in the room were good quality (not overstocked so environmental friendly) and able to ask for items free if charge from reception - Great location close to town centre and short walk to bus stops/train station Cons - Mattress was very firm so found it quite uncomfortable (personal preference though) - No aircon: stayed in June and the room was uncomfortably hot to sleep and the road outside was a bit too noisy to leave the windows open overnight to cool things down. It was exceptionally hot weather however so likely a very occasional issue. - Limited hooks in the bedroom for coats etc - Drinks in the hotel bar were expensive - EUR12 for a 1664 Krongenbourg beer. Despite a few small cons, this hotel was absolutely fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

22/06/2026: The entire staff (especially Reception) are absolutely FANTASTIC 🎉. Amazingly helpful, knowledgeable and willing to offer guidance. Beautiful views, great location! 5+++ stars. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

07/08/2026: We were disappointed with our experience. The potatoes were overcooked and the chicken and chips were really bland. The drinks weren't anything special either. Given the price, we expected more elaborate dishes, with greater attention to detail.

22/04/2026: Beautiful setting, generous and flavorful dishes in a gourmet style, incredible artichoke mousseline, impeccable service. Delightful and surprising flavor combinations (e.g., candied olives and strawberries, a real treat). Looking forward to returning and staying at the hotel!

07/03/2026: A solid lower-cost, unpretentious option with all the amenities and basic things you would need to support a great ski trip in Chamonix. The bus stops steps from the hotel taking you to all the surrounding ski resorts and downtown chamonix for transfer to the airport or the bus to Italy, Valle Blanche, etc. The staff are great and make sure you have everything you need, and are willing to keep your ski bags, boots, gear, etc stored in the boot room downstairs while you wait for your next travel plans. There is WiFi that works well from the room and from the lounge downstairs if you need to hop on work calls and get work done. I had no connection issues. Les Praz is a good location (and closer) to the resorts up the valley such as Le Flegere, Grands Montets, and Le Tour. 20 minute walk to downtown Chamonix on a lovely river-side path.

13/08/2026: A particularly pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, fantastic staff, and superb, quickly served food. Everything you could ask for in a good establishment. I will definitely be back with my girlfriend/boyfriend.

08/08/2026: The place itself is nice in terms of location and general pricing, but you can get very unlucky. We came during happy hour and asked, “so, what’s on happy hour?” — got a response different from what’s written on the menu, and ordered according to that. But, later, when we were paying, we discovered it’s exactly what was written on the menu, and the manager and waiter refused to give us the happy hour price, which was very rude (since, again, we went from what the waiter told us). Very frustrating and unpleasant.

06/08/2026: A truly pleasant welcome, a great respect for hospitality, a very kind person, really. Exquisite dishes made with quality ingredients; at this altitude, that deserves to be highlighted. Hats off to the kitchen! Impeccable service in my opinion, especially considering one person handling both reception and service. A very good restaurant to recommend 🤗

04/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly wonderful experience at Restaurant 3842! We were warmly welcomed by a particularly friendly and attentive person, which immediately set the tone for this special moment. The meal was a real delight: high-quality, flavorful dishes in an absolutely exceptional setting. The real bonus, in our opinion, is an advantage that many visitors don't know about: when you have lunch at the restaurant, you can fully enjoy the site without being constrained by the usually limited time for sightseeing. This allowed us to experience it at our leisure, admire the scenery, and take the time to appreciate this unique place. An address we wholeheartedly recommend, both for the quality of the welcome and for the cuisine and the overall experience it offers.

20/04/2026: Since the butcher's cut was flank steak, I ordered a Mont Blanc tartare. Disappointment! There was just a tiny bit of ham on top (see photo). I also ordered a mille-feuille 🤐 Disappointed compared to last year. I no longer eat at Grands Montets; I plan half-day trips and eat in Chamonix. I lose a bit of time, but I prefer it. €45 for a bad meal. The owner's explanation: it's the end of the season 😡

08/04/2026: I really enjoyed the soup, the draft cider, and the mint chocolate ice cream! The staff is super friendly, the music is good, and the terrace is sunny. Great spot in Argentière.

22/08/2026: Was a beautiful location, food was incredible and the staff were so lovely. Would highly recommend and the views were immaculate 🫶🏽 we even took a picture with the lovely lady!

17/08/2026: While on a road trip with a friend, we stopped at this restaurant for dinner. The fondue was excellent and the waitresses were fantastic. We had a great time and would definitely go back if we're ever in the area again. Sorry for the late review!

09/03/2026: The hotel lost my reservation, which I only discovered one week before arrival during peak season. I had already paid a €130 deposit 4 months prior. The deposit was eventually refunded, but being left without accommodation at such short notice created an extremely stressful situation and forced me to find last-minute lodging elsewhere at a much higher price. Hotel Le Dahu was of no help, despite this being their error. I recommend avoiding them.

16/05/2026: Our worst hotel experience ever. Among other things: unpleasant staff, a terrible manager, a steep and narrow staircase for carrying luggage, a dirty, unsoundproofed room, and much more. I do not recommend this place.

06/05/2026: We really enjoyed this place; the room and breakfast were perfect. There was a games room for everyone. The view was superb.
