03/05/2026: Dinner for two at the Auberge du Bois Prin restaurant. Peaceful setting, a little removed from the center of Chamonix, with a beautiful view of Mont Blanc. Excellent cuisine featuring local and seasonal products with just the right flavors. Attentive service. All in all, a wonderful evening. I highly recommend it!

08/09/2026: We received an exceptionally warm welcome and excellent service from Christophe during our dinner. From the appetizer to the dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend Le Panier des 4 Saisons.

22/08/2026: Sat outside with a wonderful view of Mont Blanc. A true family run restaurant. Everyone is delightful. They have daily specials and the price is reasonable. Wonderful cocktail, gazpacho, zucchini au gratin and beef. Only a few minutes from the crowds. Highly recommend.

13/04/2026: Hands down one of the best meals my wife and I have had. La Pasta Signature and Gratin De Pommes De Terre. Cépes Et Beaufort. I have zero doubt that the rest of the menu would be amazing too.

26/08/2026: I’ve ate at Michelin starred restaurants that were not as good as this place. One of the best meals of my life. There is no need to debate if this is the right place for you to grab dinner. Trust me it is.

24/08/2026: The Mrs and I visited during the UTMB week (quite by accident). The food was delightful (The steak and corn rib side were fantastic) and the service was personable and friendly with a lovely view of the river. Excellent gluten free options for my Celiac Fiance (a rarity in France!) and we will definitely be coming here again. A must visit!

13/09/2026: I have mixed feelings about my experience at La Maison Carrier. We ordered à la carte and an aperitif. I ordered a glass of rosé champagne, and the waiter made a mistake (it happens). He corrected it, but another waiter removed our platter of appetizers while we hadn't finished and our glasses were still full. A few moments later, our main courses arrived, even though we hadn't finished our aperitif, which hadn't arrived for over fifteen minutes. We mentioned this, but the waiter didn't take the plates away. We didn't press the issue, but unfortunately, it spoiled a large part of our meal. Otherwise, no complaints. The food was refined and delicious. The staff was friendly and plentiful.

23/08/2026: The decor is nice, the mountain chalet atmosphere is well done, and that's clearly the only positive point. However, the food is disappointing: the tartiflette is sorely lacking in flavor, the cheese adding mostly fat without any real taste. The prices are high, far above what the quality justifies. It feels like the place is designed for tourists passing through rather than for authentic Savoyard cuisine. As a French person, I would definitely avoid it. For a foreigner visiting Chamonix who just wants the mountain atmosphere, it might be justifiable, but don't expect a great culinary experience.

23/08/2026: The service waiter was extremely rude and arrogant. When we tried to escalate to the manager he seemed to be the waiters friend and did not care about his actions. Worst service ever and zero hospitality understanding.

26/08/2026: The C/P ratio is impeccable. Two words: Fair and fine. No matter what your food budget is when visiting Chamonix, I highly recommend having a meal at La Matafan at least once. Because……Life, huh. It filled the void that last night’s steak at another restaurant left in both body and mind. Before coming to Chamonix, I searched online for several recommended restaurants and looked through their menus for special dishes worth trying here. One dish at La Matafan particularly caught my attention: L'agneau I was already intrigued by the fact that the chef had experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Then, when I was making the reservation, I discovered that La Matafan is actually the restaurant of the five-star Hotel Mont-Blanc, which made me even more excited. From the reservation itself, to the bread, appetizer, cold soup, main course, and finally the little dessert, the entire dining experience truly lived up to the standards of a five-star hotel. Beyond the food itself, both the dining atmosphere and the quality of service were outstanding. Every dish showed the chef’s commitment to both culinary craftsmanship and artistic design, with an impressively high level of attention to detail. The tiny edible flowers delicately placed on the dishes were such a lovely little detail that made the whole experience feel romantic. The presentation made the entire dining experience feel beautifully complete. I especially want to praise the service staff. Dining alone in such a lively outdoor restaurant, combined with the fact that the folding chair was sitting on the grass and difficult to pull closer to the table, made me feel a little uncomfortable and anxious. But the staff were natural and warm throughout the entire meal, which gradually helped me relax and feel more at ease dining alone. And I absolutely have to mention the little dessert at the end. In my country, I never really understood what was so special about madeleines. I had tried them before and always thought, “Isn’t it just a sweet pastry?” But today, when I bit into the madeleine and started chewing, my eyes literally widened: “Oh～this is so good ❤️🥰” I even wanted another one 🤭. It was such a romantic dining experience that it made the whole day feel beautiful. I’ll definitely come back the next time I visit Chamonix.❤️ Highly recommended.
