03/05/2026: Dinner for two at the Auberge du Bois Prin restaurant. Peaceful setting, a little removed from the center of Chamonix, with a beautiful view of Mont Blanc. Excellent cuisine featuring local and seasonal products with just the right flavors. Attentive service. All in all, a wonderful evening. I highly recommend it!

08/09/2026: We received an exceptionally warm welcome and excellent service from Christophe during our dinner. From the appetizer to the dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend Le Panier des 4 Saisons.

27/09/2026: The best restaurant in Chamonix for the quality of its Savoyard cuisine; the tartiflette and fondue are, in our opinion, the best. The welcome from the owner and his waiter is top-notch! Don't change a thing! We always go there several times when we're in Chamonix.

25/09/2026: The restaurant has a terrace with views of Mont Blanc. The service is spectacular, and the food is authentically French. They offer a daily special, which may include an appetizer and dessert (it varies daily), featuring French cuisine. The service is excellent, and the value for money is unbeatable. 100% recommended

28/09/2026: Good food and good service, but a few regrettable points. The ventilation seems inadequate: the windows have to remain open during the meal to let the smoke escape. Most importantly, the presentation of the tip is frankly questionable: the message "service charge not included," written on the menu, is only in English, and at the time of payment, the terminal directly offers 10%, 15%, or 20%. This clearly gives the impression that a tip is expected and not optional. For clarification: in France, tipping is entirely optional and cannot be presented as a mandatory service charge. It's a shame, because the rest was quite good, and the service was perfect.

27/09/2026: Nice and cozy place with a decent menu. We had some very well-cooked ribeye steaks with sides and French wine. Reservation recommended since there are not so many tables.

13/09/2026: I have mixed feelings about my experience at La Maison Carrier. We ordered à la carte and an aperitif. I ordered a glass of rosé champagne, and the waiter made a mistake (it happens). He corrected it, but another waiter removed our platter of appetizers while we hadn't finished and our glasses were still full. A few moments later, our main courses arrived, even though we hadn't finished our aperitif, which hadn't arrived for over fifteen minutes. We mentioned this, but the waiter didn't take the plates away. We didn't press the issue, but unfortunately, it spoiled a large part of our meal. Otherwise, no complaints. The food was refined and delicious. The staff was friendly and plentiful.

19/09/2026: Avoid this restaurant at all costs! The waitress reeked of alcohol (she was clearly drunk). For an aperitif, I ordered a small beer, but I was served a large one, and it wasn't even the right brand. Then the waitress transferred it to a 0.25L glass, but it still wasn't the correct brand. We ordered a fondue, the fondue pot stand was placed on the table, and when the cook lit it, flames erupted everywhere because the fuel had overflowed. Then, they served moldy bread, which is a serious breach of hygiene. The unfortunate cook tried repeatedly to make up for the service's mistakes. I was hoping to end my weekend on a high note, but this restaurant completely ruined my evening.

14/09/2026: Hello, we had dinner here as a family. We all ate very well, whether it was the Savoyard specialties or the other dishes. The portions were very generous and made with high-quality ingredients. Afterwards, we had dessert, which was also delicious. We had a wonderful evening!

26/08/2026: The C/P ratio is impeccable. Two words: Fair and fine. No matter what your food budget is when visiting Chamonix, I highly recommend having a meal at La Matafan at least once. Because……Life, huh. It filled the void that last night’s steak at another restaurant left in both body and mind. Before coming to Chamonix, I searched online for several recommended restaurants and looked through their menus for special dishes worth trying here. One dish at La Matafan particularly caught my attention: L'agneau I was already intrigued by the fact that the chef had experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Then, when I was making the reservation, I discovered that La Matafan is actually the restaurant of the five-star Hotel Mont-Blanc, which made me even more excited. From the reservation itself, to the bread, appetizer, cold soup, main course, and finally the little dessert, the entire dining experience truly lived up to the standards of a five-star hotel. Beyond the food itself, both the dining atmosphere and the quality of service were outstanding. Every dish showed the chef’s commitment to both culinary craftsmanship and artistic design, with an impressively high level of attention to detail. The tiny edible flowers delicately placed on the dishes were such a lovely little detail that made the whole experience feel romantic. The presentation made the entire dining experience feel beautifully complete. I especially want to praise the service staff. Dining alone in such a lively outdoor restaurant, combined with the fact that the folding chair was sitting on the grass and difficult to pull closer to the table, made me feel a little uncomfortable and anxious. But the staff were natural and warm throughout the entire meal, which gradually helped me relax and feel more at ease dining alone. And I absolutely have to mention the little dessert at the end. In my country, I never really understood what was so special about madeleines. I had tried them before and always thought, “Isn’t it just a sweet pastry?” But today, when I bit into the madeleine and started chewing, my eyes literally widened: “Oh～this is so good ❤️🥰” I even wanted another one 🤭. It was such a romantic dining experience that it made the whole day feel beautiful. I’ll definitely come back the next time I visit Chamonix.❤️ Highly recommended.

08/10/2026: We popped in for a quick brew before heading back to Geneva. A super accommodating place and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The restaurant is a lovely wooden building in a great location, close to the mountain train station. Wish we could have stayed longer, to be fair.

02/10/2026: A charming restaurant, welcoming from the outside, with a superb terrace that we thoroughly enjoyed. Nicely shaded, pleasant… perfect! The service is quick, attentive, and perfectly suited to children. We enjoyed their dishes so much that we happily finished our plates. And the fondue? A marvel! Flavorful, generous, and perfectly prepared. A warm welcome, attentive service, and a beautiful setting. I recommend it 100%!
