31/07/2026: A solid 4-star experience, though not quite a total favorite Chez Max et Nico is a cozy spot with a simple menu and a exceptionally friendly staff. The service was impressively fast and efficient—we finished our meal in an hour without feeling rushed. Food-wise, the terrine starter was delicious with a great sauce (though a thicker slice would have been welcome), while the snails were decent but not memorable. For mains, the beef was properly cooked with homemade fries, and the sea bream was very tasty with a great sauce (though the fish portion was on the smaller side). Why 4 stars instead of 5: - Portion sizes felt slightly light overall. - A €12 supplement for the beef dish on a €32 menu feels a bit steep. - No air conditioning on a very hot day, which made it hard to linger. Final check: €92 for two (2 starter + main menus, plus 2 glasses of wine for €15). Overall, a really pleasant and enjoyable meal, just missing a few details to reach top marks.

The staff and atmosphere in this restaurant deserve top marks; we received a very warm welcome and the staff were attentive. As for the cuisine, it remains simple yet authentic and delicious. The menu is short, but very well executed, and every bite is a pleasure. If you're looking for a gourmet restaurant with all the trappings of fine dining, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for good, unpretentious food, a warm welcome, and a guaranteed good atmosphere, then go in—you've come to the right place. Congratulations on the wonderful evening you gave us. 28/07/2026: If you mix together all the clichés and stereotypes of a Parisian bistro, you get this place. Grumpy waiters, curt replies, no seating unless your group is full, poor service, cheap, mass-produced food, high prices, and many other surprises... 🙄 If you ask me, their location is actually perfect because, thanks to the Porte des Expositions right next door, tons of foreigners and tourists pass through, giving them a direct taste of the Parisian experience.

15/07/2026: Wonderful server's, suggested the perfect meal and drinks. We enjoyed this establishment we returned 3 times. Open air with a street view in or out of the sun or indoor with a nice breeze. English speaker or French the were the best we visited close to out hotel and the Metro.

30/07/2026: Cinq, near Gare de Clamart, is a small, chef-owned spot worth knowing about if you're in the area. We visited in June 2025 during Fête de la Musique. We shared a few dishes for around €30-40 per person: a creamy mushroom penne with crispy red onion, shaved parmesan and cracked black pepper; a cured salmon starter with grapefruit, pomegranate and passion fruit that came across bright and citrusy rather than heavy; a smash-style cheeseburger with melted cheddar on a sesame brioche bun, served with roasted fondant potatoes; and a chili con carne over roasted eggplant and squash with guacamole, pico de gallo and a cabbage slaw — an unexpected combination that worked well. We also had an Apérol Spritz iced tea, a nice twist on the usual spritz. What stood out most was the owner, who's also the head chef and clearly hands-on — he came by to check how the meal was going, which felt genuine rather than routine. Service was warm throughout. The space is small (I'd guess no more than 50 people at once) and nicely decorated without feeling fussy. Worth knowing: the menu changes often, so don't go expecting these exact dishes — it's more a reflection of the kitchen's overall consistency than any one item. I'd go back — the food held up across very different styles (pasta, seafood, burger, chili), and having the chef genuinely engage with diners is rare enough to matter.
