14/05/2026: I should mention that we were part of a large group of tourists (around 150 people) who had booked in advance and therefore benefited from a "group" meal, which was somewhat "lighter" to ensure everyone was served within a reasonable timeframe.
Despite these constraints, the meal was of very high quality. A minor cooking issue (for some diners) with the main course was quickly addressed and resolved. Admittedly, the starter was quite simple, but this was soon forgotten upon the arrival of the main course, which proved to be original and, above all, delicious. The welcome was warm, and the minor cooking problem demonstrated the responsiveness and genuine professionalism of this highly recommended restaurant.
09/05/2026: Excellent, refined, and with exceptionally pleasant service. Both family-run and highly professional. They are wonderful with children, and their children's menu still offers a great selection of gourmet food.

25/05/2026: Fantastic bakery! We went there to buy some treats on the recommendation of the tobacconist next door, to enjoy with coffee and homemade lemonade.
We got pistachio and speculoos éclairs—absolutely divine! They also had delicious and affordable pain au raisin and a brownie.
It's a shame we were there on a Monday, and since they're closed on Tuesdays, there was practically nothing left, but it was all incredibly tasty!
25/05/2026: For my wife's birthday, we ordered a strawberry cake for 14 people.
It was delicious; all the guests thoroughly enjoyed it.
The strawberries were very flavorful, which demonstrates the professionalism of this pastry shop. A strawberry cake is a pastry, of course, but the choice of strawberries is also very important.

10/05/2026: We had a wonderful time at this place where you can relax with an excellent cup of tea or enjoy a meal if you're hungry.
The duck parmentier was delicious, as were the desserts.
The interior is pleasant and welcoming, and the outdoor terrace is a real treat on sunny days.

09/04/2026: I was disappointed by my stay at the Jeu de Paume. A 5-star hotel can't afford to make mistakes, yet this establishment had several errors.
There was a computer glitch during the booking process. So, I went to pay on arrival, two days before my stay, and took the opportunity to request the blue room. Upon arrival, we were given the pink room! We waited 10 minutes in the hallway while the hostess corrected the mistake. The kettle in the room was hidden in the cabinet under the TV, and only three tea bags of unknown brand were provided. We would have preferred herbal tea or tea from a reputable brand. There were no soaps to keep, and only one shower cap for two people. Breakfast was delicious, but the hostesses lacked a smile, and the sparkling water wasn't replenished once the bottle was empty. The spa was a lovely place, but the next morning at 7:15, we found the tissues and candy wrappers left behind the day before. In short, the Auberge du Jeu de Paume doesn't deserve 5 stars.
The positive points are: the bedding, the sauna which is nice and hot, the breakfast items, and the hotel's location, but that's not enough!

The attentiveness and kindness of the staff made this mother-son tête-à-tête exceptional, every detail reflecting remarkable care. 02/04/2026: A major disappointment for a dinner costing over €100 per person.
While the decor, inspired by the castle's interior, is remarkable and the drinks excellent, the food is mediocre.
For example: the grey shrimp (from frozen), the foie gras ravioli were completely tasteless... or the salty caviar was so overpowering it was almost painful to eat.
In short, more pretentious than delicious.

05/05/2026: I rarely leave Google reviews, but the poor quality of this pastry shop compels me to do so. I have rarely tasted such bad pastries. I usually go to Tourbez in Gouvieux, but unfortunately, they are closed on Tuesdays. So, I opted for this highly-rated pastry shop in Chantilly. I bought Paris-Brest pastries, a crème brûlée, a chocolate éclair, a red fruit tiramisu, a rum baba, and some financiers. Basically, everything ended up in the bin! The crème brûlée had a lumpy texture and, of course, no vanilla flavor whatsoever. The choux pastry of the Paris-Brest and the rum baba were practically cardboard-like. The tiramisu was far too sweet, with a biscuit base that resembled sponge cake crumbs; it was detestable. The chocolate éclair was overly sweet and cloying. As for the financiers, they were vomit-inducing—a lump of sugar with no almond flavor. After the first bite, only a greasy sensation remained in the mouth! I don't understand why this pastry shop is still open… maybe for its bread?
