15/06/2026: Our go-to lunch stop on our way to our holiday destination. Never disappointed. Always a warm welcome with a smile, even when we've forgotten to book. We usually take advantage of the daily menu, which is very comprehensive with buffet-style starters. The portions are generous and the service is very friendly, with hosts and hostesses who go out of their way to make customers feel welcome. Parking is right next door.

14/05/2026: We came on Saturday at lunchtime, a party of three. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile. The waiter who took our order was professional and excellent with our son. The plates were generously filled. The sauce served with the duck was delicious, and the fries were perfect—not greasy and crispy. We were served by their trainee. What I appreciate about this restaurant is that the team enjoys passing on their knowledge (trainees, apprentices). Mr. G is a good cook. We will be back.

28/04/2026: We didn't stay at this hotel as it was fully booked, but at 10:30 PM, after being turned away with a reservation from the Brit Hotel in La Ferté, we were redirected to a bed and breakfast known to the staff. So, for the quality of service provided, it deserved a review! Thank you

16/05/2026: While in the area for the Bagnoles de l'Orne fair, we booked a last-minute stay and absolutely loved it. The welcome was incredibly warm, the room very comfortable, the location peaceful, the price reasonable, and the breakfast products were incredibly fresh. Well done and thank you to the owner! 🙏

11/07/2026: We had a wonderful meal, enjoyed a pleasant boat trip on the Orne River, and had some great entertainment. The sunshine was also perfect. I highly recommend it!

02/07/2026: We just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a couple of friends... the captain was lovely and full of humor, the staff were super friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the setting was superb. We'll definitely be back.

21/07/2026: Passing through this beautiful region, we enjoyed a delicious meal of very fresh and generous seafood, with pleasant service. The only slightly annoying drawback was that the young waiter kept petting a dog during service. Overall, a very enjoyable time.

12/07/2026: Good experience at this inn. I stopped by completely by chance on a Saturday evening for dinner. The owner gave me a warm welcome, and the service was excellent. The local dish was delicious and very pleasant! I have no experience with the hotel itself, only with the restaurant…

26/05/2026: I was just passing through and ordered a simple coffee to go. They asked for €3.50! After I commented on the price, she (the owner, I think) let me have it for €3! Shameful and petty! I don't usually leave reviews on Google, but on principle, I can't let this go.

03/05/2026: Cold and rushed service. The owner treated me like an idiot twice when I was buying tobacco. I won't be going back.

13/07/2026: What can I say? The manager's disrespect and condescension were beyond belief. To explain my experience, I'd already been there once before, in 2023 (it was the same manager). We bought around €200 worth of cigarettes and lottery tickets. Having some health issues, I needed to use the restroom. The manager told me, in a nasty and condescending tone, that I hadn't consumed anything and therefore didn't have the right to go. Today, July 13, 2026, I went back to Bagnoles, stopped at the tobacconist, and again spent around €200 on cigarettes and lottery tickets. Someone in our group felt unwell and went to the restroom. And the whole thing started again. I hope this manager is treated the way he treats other customers. Being the manager of an establishment doesn't give anyone the right to be condescending, disrespectful, and gratuitously mean. And believe me, I weighed my words carefully because my anger is beyond words.

13/07/2026: Don't go there if you have children. The owner is unfriendly, didn't even greet us. He became aggressive because our stroller was parked incorrectly. We deliberately parked in a secluded spot where no one else was, but apparently that still bothered him. Please put up a "No Children Allowed" sign at the entrance; it would make things easier for everyone.

22/07/2025: Slow service - didn't understand English. We finished our drinks a long time before our waffles arrived.. Shame..

09/08/2026: We sat down on the terrace for a drink... we wanted to extend it with a meal... but there wasn't time, one of our two tables was taken: "Some customers want a table and you've finished your drink..."

08/08/2026: Nice terrace in the center of Vimoutiers. It's a shame that the lemon slice, barely 2 mm in diameter (I'm being generous), was brought with a smile, saying, "That'll be 50 cents more, sir." I'm not usually one to complain, but that was ridiculous! 😆🍋

01/03/2026: The hotel is very well located, with parking, a decent room for the price, and a comfortable mattress. It was very quiet. Breakfast was simple. The welcome was very warm. Dinner at the hotel restaurant in the evening was also very pleasant, with delicious dishes.

10/04/2026: Beautiful location, lovely well-maintained garden, super friendly welcome. Extra cushions available upon request. Small table and chairs available by the garden room. Our small dog was certainly welcome too.

06/08/2026: We've been three times: the first two times were rather unpleasant, though with some good points, but the last time was terrible. We called to reserve (because we had a long drive), and when we arrived, the table wasn't really available anymore; we ended up on the terrace in overcast weather, with wind and a few drops of rain (3 adults, 4 children). The worst part, by far, was the waiter's attitude. He was an unpleasant and condescending man. Given the number of positive reviews, perhaps the waiters' attitude is determined by their appearance, their age, the presence of children, or some other mysterious reason. There was palpable and poorly managed pressure throughout the entire service, not to mention the staff's comments, who were afraid our children would fall down the stairs, and so on. Avoid this place.

19/07/2026: The fruit and vegetable section was appalling this morning, I'd even say disgusting, and many customers were saying the same thing... Either the person in charge of that section doesn't like their job, or they're very poorly paid, or they're trying to give their boss bad publicity... It's a disgrace to leave produce rotten and in such an abominable state... You must have the means to accept so much waste, or the profit margin must be very high.

16/07/2026: Very good store, they're doing a lot of renovations, new fridges at the moment, it's the butcher and deli counter, it's good that they're evolving, pleasant and clean store 👍👌
