20/05/2026: Review of this hotel restaurant: We ate there while passing through. I'm being polite, but the meal gets a 0/20. Meat reheated in the microwave. Fries inedible, hard, black, microwaved. Fish cooked in the microwave and undercooked, barely defrosted. Even the toilets weren't clean. My advice: run far, far away. To answer your question, I'm a chef in a bistro-style restaurant, and I can tell you that your filet mignon was anything but low-temperature cooked. Low-temperature cooking results in flavorful meat that can be cut without a knife. Your filet was tough, dry, and inedible! No offense...

12/01/2026: We had an excellent meal, a lunch for two, right in the middle of the Christmas holidays. Very good value for money. Perfect welcome and service. We are not hotel guests. I recommend the restaurant.

21/11/2025: Hello everyone reading my reviews. Excellent food, impeccable service, and a lovely setting near the Lay River and the port of L'Aiguillon. I highly recommend this place. The food is sure to whet your appetite, especially the fish dishes, or, for me, the eel with garlic and parsley – my favorite dish here. What more could you ask for? Enjoy your meal!

28/07/2026: I'm never disappointed when I eat here. The appetizer buffet is varied, and you can easily see that the salads are well-prepared and homemade. The main courses are also well-prepared, often with original touches. The menu is very reasonably priced. I'm always surprised it's not more crowded when I go because the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend it! 😊 (I'm a truck driver; there's parking available by walking around the store.)

29/05/2026: OUTRAGEOUS!!! I've never stayed at this hotel and I certainly won't!! They accept dogs, but at €15 per dog per day! We wanted to book for 4 days with our two dogs; do the math, it's more expensive than the price of a room!!! This is a blatant refusal to allow dogs!!!

18/06/2026: Disappointed. Two tables were taken on the terrace, six customers in total. We still had to go to the bar to order. There were four of us. I was the one who had to keep running back and forth. I had to ask for drinks... Not a smile. In short, two years ago it was a staff shortage, and today it must be the same thing. I don't understand this business sense.

10/06/2026: Unpleasant, very rude, and they call themselves a parcel delivery service, they kick you out because they're busy, tell you to come back tomorrow. It's not a place to go.

06/07/2026: My partner and I stayed at this hotel for two nights during the Half Ironman. We received a very warm welcome from Richard and his family. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. We ate very well, with a special mention for the Port-side Burger, which is excellent! The rooms are very nice, especially considering the short time we were there. Admittedly, it's a bit noisy on weekends, but earplugs are provided at reception and they did the trick perfectly. The location is ideal: just a three-minute walk from the beach, with a view of the harbor. The entire team is incredibly attentive and always available to help. We can't wait to come back! Thank you to the whole team!

28/06/2026: We had a wonderful 7-night stay at the Hôtel du Port and were delighted. The welcome was warm from the moment we arrived; the entire team was friendly, helpful, and very professional. The room was comfortable, clean, and pleasant, and the hotel's location is ideal for exploring Les Sables-d'Olonne on foot. A big thank you to the whole team for this lovely week. We will gladly return and highly recommend this hotel!

22/08/2026: My 4-year-old son urgently needed to use the restroom. I went into the restaurant and politely asked if he could go, but they told me no, it was reserved for customers. I can completely understand that, but refusing a child access to the restroom is inhumane. We had to rush to the public restrooms where, of course, there was a queue. In short, the service was absolutely unfriendly.

23/06/2026: One of the best croissants I've had (I do like them soft and squishy rather than crispy, so it's a matter of taste). The jambon emmental sandwich was great too, and I ate both of these after 9PM so they held up well.

12/08/2026: Beach restaurant, with the reputation that follows. The service is pleasant, but the food isn't anything special. The salmon tartare is rather unusual; I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. But hey, you know what you're getting into; don't expect fine dining.

26/08/2026: We came to eat on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. There were three of us, and we ordered three rib-eye steaks, priced at €23.90, with an estimated weight between 180g and 200g. As a former cook, I could tell just by looking at them that the weight wasn't right. When I saw my rib-eye arrive, full of fat and sinew, I told the waiter, who sent it back to the kitchen. He brought me a raw one to ask if that cut was okay. When I saw the small piece of meat, I asked him the exact weight, but he couldn't tell me. The only answer he gave was, "When you cook meat, it shrinks." Since I eat my meat rare, it's not going to shrink like that when I eat it properly. I always tip the staff a little something to drink, but since they don't always do what's necessary when customers tell them there's a problem, I didn't give them anything. In short, I do not recommend this restaurant which does not respect the quantities and is very unfriendly.
