31/03/2026: We had a meal in a kotta grill at this establishment. The concept is very nice, original, and convivial (be careful if you have young children, as there's a risk of burns). We enjoyed a charcuterie board, starter, and main course with very good local products. There was also cheese to melt over the potatoes. One small point: it's a shame there was almost more pre-cooked meat than meat to cook, but that's a minor detail. The chocolate fondue for dessert was a nice touch, perfectly in keeping with the concept. So, a hearty and very tasty meal. The service was impeccable, and we appreciated the culinary journeys of the kotta. A great time spent with friends.

26/02/2026: A comment unrelated to the hostel's operations: My wife brought my daughter in for an urgent need to use the restroom. The woman there gave my wife a very cold reception and refused to let my daughter go ("if everyone does that, we'll never get anywhere"). While I can understand this for an adult, it's much less acceptable for a 4-year-old. I don't know what the hostel is like, but this was enough for me.

01/03/2026: A restaurant in a restored old house, retaining its original charm. Dishes are simmered or kept warm on a wood-burning stove. A truly delightful experience for the taste buds in this exceptional setting. The service and welcome are warm and attentive.

01/03/2026: During a weekend in the mountains, we stopped at this charming little restaurant with its rustic mountain atmosphere, enhanced by the all-wood decor. The prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent! It was impossible to have dessert because the portions were so generous! I highly recommend it!

28/01/2026: Wow, what a lovely, welcoming, and easygoing couple of restaurateurs! The husband makes excellent food, and the wife's service is impeccable. They are down-to-earth and always smiling. Whenever you're in Senones, a quick stop for a glass of rosé wine is a must. Absolutely worth it!

12/02/2026: Simply put, the quality isn't up to par with what you'd find in other establishments. The food isn't up to the standard of other places in this type of hotel, but the staff is great and the hotel could use a refresh with a warmer atmosphere.

If I had to compare it to an equivalent restaurant, it's nothing like it. O Malo has several different options for everyone. A real treat. We have a lot of choices. We can even modify our sandwiches according to our wishes. Everyone has their own personal menu. 😉 And the food is fast and efficient. I see there are a lot of negative reviews for this place. Reviews that don't reflect reality. I think there was a misunderstanding. I strongly advise you to go there. Don't trust the reviews, but trust your intuition. I respect every opinion, but I'm really disappointed with their comments. And I wanted to speak out because I don't agree at all. And we can't know if it suits us or not without Have tried, haven't you? Everyone's personality is different... opinions are divided. And we're in a secular democracy, so everyone is free to express themselves and say what they want. Trust yourself and your experiences, not opinions. 😉 So if you want a good experience... 21/02/2026: Although the restaurant is self-service, the food is very good (local dishes) and competitively priced. The setting is pleasant and decorated like a barn/chalet. A great stop in the middle of a day of skiing or hiking.
