28/07/2026: It was match night, so the atmosphere was a bit unusual, but it was okay 😉

20/07/2026: Pleasant, casual atmosphere and a pretty place. Regarding the snacks, they were average, and a major drawback was the waitress behind the bar who served us Aperol Spritzes. She handled the ice cubes with her bare hands, especially since we often saw her outside smoking. It's unacceptable! It's a shame because the place is very nice. The waitress should be taught to use ice tongs.

02/10/2026: Unfortunately, our experience at Mamma Giovanna was ruined by the attitude of one of the servers—the gentleman wearing red glasses. He asked whether we wanted sun or shade, and we said shade. When we politely tried to clarify that we were hoping to sit outside in the back, he responded, “You need to know what you want,” in an unnecessarily rude and passive-aggressive tone. He then seated us at one of the sunniest tables anyway. The food was decent, but nothing special. What really stood out was the poor service and attitude, which put us in a bad mood and overshadowed the entire meal. Hospitality matters, and unfortunately we would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

23/09/2026: A good Italian restaurant in Colmar, generous and delicious portions, great price and excellent service. The waiter asked where we were from and I thought twice before saying from Israel, but he smiled and said hello in Hebrew and was very nice, which is quite a feat for Israelis abroad today.

19/09/2026: First, we were served by Laure, but it was excellent: polite, helpful, and kind. A classy person who handled some rather difficult customers. A very, very good establishment. We didn't leave hungry.

16/09/2026: Friendly service, but Rösti's quick tourist food was a bit bland, with cheap lettuce leaves and carrots without dressing. It was a disappointment.

15/10/2026: Very friendly and fast service. You sit outside in the warm autumn sun. The tarte flambée was quite good. Perfect for day-trippers.

11/10/2026: Right in the center, in a pedestrian zone, with a beautiful church square, the overall setting is perfect for a pleasant meal. The terrace is spacious, easily accommodating up to four people; reservations are recommended, especially during the summer months. The restaurant is quite clean, and the restrooms are adequate. The welcome and service are energetic and friendly; no complaints there. Things take a slight turn for the worse with the menu, which is predictably bland. The dishes arrive quickly... perhaps too quickly to allow for any real culinary effort. This is evident in some dishes that are served after a long wait while customers make their choices. The ham hock with Munster sauce has a very tough skin; it lacks its usual melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the accompanying garnish further detracts from its appeal. The rösti is tasteless and soggy in its bath of Munster sauce. Fortunately, once the skin is cut, the meat is tender right to the bone. Finally, the last disappointment: the dessert menu is truly unappealing. The selection is extremely limited. Overall, it's not bad, but it's nothing special and feels predictable. It's a tourist trap without any real identity of its own.

25/09/2026: Whatever beer he was serving (Colmar artisan seasonal?) it was the best I had on my visit. I came back a second time it was so good!

03/09/2026: I have not been there yet but a friend told me that the owner is one of my fans. I am from Gibraltar and the officent of MAPR. I shall be in Colmar this December and I would like to visit this cafe and say hello

19/10/2025: We only had one wine and one beer, very expensive, the service was terrible, they gave us the wrong wine and it was terrible, the only good thing was the location

22/05/2026: Nice place, open late, they make good mojitos. It's on the pedestrian street, really nice, worth a visit. Well, a few years later, I've changed my mind. There's been violence outside the bar several times, but this time I was filming when one of the bouncers actually hit me. He had just hit a friend, which is why I filmed. And, as a little joke, he added, "We don't allow you in anymore." I'm not pressing charges because I really like Philippe, but I strongly advise many people against going there.

13/09/2026: Never order tarte flambée at James'On. We ordered two tarte flambées, which cost €12.50 each, only to receive small frozen ones from Picard, priced at €2.99 for the pair. I doubt the grated cheese added on top and the labor justify the (25 - 2.99) / 25 = 88% markup.

13/10/2026: Very tasty burger at a reasonable price. The meat was cooked to perfection. The fact that you can put a pager in your pocket and walk around a bit longer before it goes off is really great.

09/10/2026: I can't understand the negative reviews about the consistency and taste of the sandwiches. Tonight I had a chicken and cream sandwich and it was full of chicken... It had been at least 10 years since I last went there because I moved to a different region, but it's still just as good.

28/09/2026: We tried to go here two times, both times the staff was very unfriendly to us and we ended up not eating there. We went one time in the morning, and despite them having vegan options in the menu they said they couldn't make any until around lunch time and didn't try to accommodate at all. We left, and came back later in the day almost 2 hours before their supposed closing time, a lady was at the door and just rudely said the kitchen was already closed.

27/09/2026: This is the first time I've found a place to eat with a children's play area with all sorts of games, allowing parents to eat in peace. Plus, the food is good and reasonably priced. You can get pies, tarte flambée, crêpes, and pastries. Parents, go there, you'll be delighted.

20/07/2026: The service was disastrous. Either you take the phone and put the customer on hold, or you hang up and deal with them. She finally decided to do both, so naturally she asked me to repeat my order three times… I wasn't planning on having lunch here because a year ago the same nonchalant waitress burned the pizza I ordered. Unfortunately, they offered me a second chance, and I decided to give it another go. The result: an entire afternoon spent in the bathroom, and excruciating abdominal pain. Then I remembered all those damn flies landing on the pastries… I think we should call Philippe; it would be a great first episode for a bakery nightmare.

18/07/2026: Excellent homemade Liège coffee. The furniture is a bit dated, but the welcome and service are pleasant and impeccable.

26/09/2026: The welcome was mixed. We arrived 20 minutes early and felt like we were intruding; not a single smile. We wanted to be surprised (the slogan of the menu) by a €35 sharing menu with various dishes. The worst part for me was the romaine lettuce cut into quarters with a few grilled onions. The trout was too salty, the beef too salty... And when we asked to take the leftovers home, we felt like we were robbing them! 😀 In short, an experience not to be repeated

13/09/2026: Popular and busy. Pho was good, meat a bit tough. Servers were doing the best they could.

22/08/2026: Nice little restaurant for a quick bite in the Colmar covered market. Our dishes were tasty and generous. Quick service and a very friendly waiter. Reasonable prices.

25/09/2026: Wonderful location, but unfortunately the service and dining experience do not live up to the setting. The staff were not very friendly, the service was disappointing, and the menu left a lot to be desired. We expected much more from a restaurant located in one of the most beautiful spots in Colmar.
