21/08/2026: We ate at a restaurant today, and what a surprise to learn that you can't order a pizza for two!

20/08/2026: Very, very disappointed. I didn't dare tell Monique directly, but the dishes are far too expensive for what they are. €19 for five tasteless prawns that barely register, and especially €28 for a sea bass that deserved to be cooked longer and seasoned much better. It came with three measly slices of potato, a salad with a very unpleasant white dressing, and a slice of completely tasteless tomato. All this without dessert for €50, including a 25cl Leffe beer. It's honestly very disappointing, especially considering that for the same price, there's a very good gourmet restaurant next door. It's a shame that the restaurant and the food don't reflect Monique's ever-smiling and cheerful nature, the only redeeming quality of the place.

Don't hesitate to step inside the aptly named "Le Gourmand" in the heart of old Sète. From cuttlefish razor clams to octopus or beef macaroni, everything is fresh and expertly seasoned by this true Sète chef. It's impossible to resist a homemade dessert when the chef is also a pastry chef. A warm welcome from his wife and reasonable prices await you – you won't regret it!

25/08/2026: A particularly disappointing experience considering the €130 bill for two. For every simple request in the dining room, such as adding a scoop of ice cream or customizing a kir, the waiter simply turned on his heel without a word or even a nod to acknowledge understanding. We were also subjected to inappropriate and intrusive remarks about using our phones at the table, which is completely unacceptable in a professional setting. Finally, due to a simple mistake on our part when ordering (saying "à la carte" when our choices corresponded point by point to the set menu), we simply and diplomatically asked at the register if it was possible to adjust the bill. We were met with considerable aggression, under the pretext that the à la carte portions would be larger—something that was absolutely not apparent in the already meager portions on our plates. For a bill of this amount, the service and customer service should be impeccable. We will not return.

25/08/2026: Excellent restaurant, super fresh produce, so you have to pay a bit more, but it's worth it! The setting is lovely, I highly recommend it.

04/07/2026: Corinne and her staff are so lovely and helpful! The wines is incredible and very well priced. Also great that you can sit outside and bring food from elsewhere to eat with your wine.

08/09/2026: I'm never disappointed by this restaurant. It's always an exceptional culinary experience, especially when you choose the "trust" menu, a menu composed of courses that are revealed gradually. Five courses: starter, fish, meat, cheese, and dessert, a feast for the eyes and the palate. The service is impeccable. What I also appreciate is finding excellent organic wines from the region on the wine list at very reasonable prices (whereas in some restaurants the wine costs more than the menu). In short, I highly recommend this restaurant.

08/09/2026: A magnificent establishment! The cuisine is delicious, combining "surf and turf" dishes. The service is also outstanding. All of this makes for an exceptional getaway in Sète.

18/08/2026: What a disappointment!! We were expecting a tasting menu worthy of a fine dining establishment with this six-course tasting menu! Disappointed for several reasons: There was no cohesive theme between the courses, some dishes had no particular flavor, notably the watermelon and mackerel combination, and the meat was very tough to chew… The wine offered by the glass was of mediocre quality, and there were no sweet wines available except Muscat! The dishes were described automatically and extremely quickly, making them almost incomprehensible! The chef was having fun in the kitchen with his assistants, drinking a mixture that was half-spit out into the sink (visible from the outside table). The only positive points were the amuse-bouches and the desserts. This restaurant seems overrated and does not deserve the ratings given!!

12/08/2026: It had been a long time since I'd eaten so well! I had a truly wonderful culinary experience! Each course arrived at the table with an explanation, and the same went for the wine, which was perfectly recommended! Thank you to the whole team! I highly recommend it.

We ate there with friends for the Saint Louis celebration. The servers quickly set up three tables for us, the service was fast, and the food was excellent! The macaronade was perfect 🥰 A complimentary digestif was offered at the end of the meal. Great atmosphere, friendly servers. Thank you for the warm welcome. I highly recommend it 🥳

06/07/2026: We always have a wonderful time here, in the heart of the Sète market. The welcome is warm and friendly, and Chef Joël always manages to find you a table for lunch. 07/08/2026: A superb discovery! Sakura House is a real gem. The Japanese cuisine is generous, authentic, and above all, made with heart. 🌸 Here, many things are homemade, even the skewers, and it really shows in the food. The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are flavorful, and they are prepared with care. We also loved the tuna caught in Sète: it doesn't get any fresher or more local than that! We tried several dishes: salmon, ramen, takoyaki, onigiri, skewers… everything was excellent. The portions are generous, the presentation is elegant, and the children loved it too. Beyond the food, there's a real soul to this restaurant. You can tell that the dishes aren't just prepared to be served: they're made with passion and a desire to please. ❤️ An authentic place like this is the kind we wish we could find more often. We'll definitely be back! A must-try in Sète. 🇯🇵🌸

26/08/2026: Appalling service. It took 20 minutes for the waiter to come, and just as long to get our drinks. A smile was nowhere to be seen either.

25/08/2026: The staff were friendly, which was fortunate because the cuttlefish in rouille wasn't really cuttlefish at all, but rather rice in tomato sauce, and the cuttlefish itself must have been reheated three days prior. Not good at all. The dish was poorly presented. This was my first time there, and I won't be going back.

17/08/2026: Excellent restaurant, probably in the top 5 in Sète, with consistently high-quality, fresh ingredients. The owner is a bit eccentric but very friendly once you get to know him 😁

14/08/2026: It was the most tasteless meal I've ever had in France. The dishes I chose from the daily menu were prepared well in advance, heated up immediately after I ordered, and arrived even before the salad. Furthermore, the salad was extremely poorly prepared and insufficient. I would not recommend it at all.

15/07/2026: We came on July 14th without a reservation. For the other restaurants nearby, we had to book, but not for this one. Thank you to everyone who welcomed the guests as they gradually arrived; they found solutions for everyone. As for the meal, it was delicious! I had a warm goat cheese salad, and it was so good… The bread was excellent too! They say that if the bread is good, the rest of the meal will be just as good. The prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and kind! You can go there without hesitation.

13/07/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant during our vacation. The swordfish was initially undercooked. I politely asked for it to be cooked a little longer, and the dish was brought back to me properly prepared. However, I was disappointed with the service. Due to health reasons, I couldn't finish my meal despite my efforts. From that point on, I felt the welcome became much colder. We waited to pay and eventually had to ask another server, as we were no longer being served. It's a shame, because the quality of the dish was good after cooking, and warm service until the end of the meal would have left a much better impression.
