19/04/2026: I am always welcome here. If there is no room, they will make room for me. A lovely French eatery/restaurant with a bar, tables, and a television. The staff is warm; I am always greeted kindly. Every now and then, there are special evenings with unlimited couscous, unlimited mussels, or whatever else the season offers. Always make a reservation for those kinds of evenings, as they attract a lot of locals. They also serve a great lunch at midday with daily menus at competitive prices. A nice terrace, especially in good weather. A delightful, village-like, and French experience.

21/02/2026: The welcome was fantastic in a discreet and quiet room at the back. The food was magnificent; we ate our fill and got our money's worth (we had the tagine, which I highly recommend)! The very welcoming staff even gave some tagine to our dog. The chef was able to adapt the dish for someone with dietary restrictions due to allergies, making for an excellent overall experience.

21/04/2026: Recently taken over, the new owners have kept all the positive aspects of the previous owners: generous and delicious cuisine, and extremely competitive prices. They've added the owner's own kindness, a smile, a little something extra... We love their pizzas! But that's not all! Go check it out, but make a reservation! All the best!

19/04/2026: Once seated, despite having a reservation, the waiter forgot about us for 40 minutes. I had to go get the menus myself. It's nothing like the previous owner! The gizzard salad was swimming in vinaigrette. The lasagna was perfect. The pizzas were okay, nothing special. The dishes are served in VERY generous portions! Too generous, even.

29/04/2026: I had reserved a table on the terrace that morning, but when we arrived for lunch... there was no table, so we ended up sitting in the blazing sun. Anyway, moving on to the food, there was a mistake with the wine 🍷, but the waitress only told us when the bill came... the starter was very good, marinated salmon 👍 followed by mussels (I think we had the last of the pot), practically all empty shells, the mussels were in the broth. Dessert was perfect. When I went to pay, I asked if we could stay on the terrace for a bit to chat, and the woman said no because it might attract other people who would come for a drink, which isn't the case in the afternoon 🤔. A bit frustrating! It used to be better. We paid €70 for two.

24/04/2026: Pleasant setting and warm welcome, the food is good but the quantity is a little small considering the price, which makes the menu expensive in the end for €30/person.

24/02/2026: After a beautiful, long drive through the Morvan, we arrived at Jean Michel's in the evening. He's a kind, cheerful man who knows a lot about the area. After welcoming us, he showed us our room, and we enjoyed a delicious meal at the restaurant around the corner. That evening, we returned to the hotel refreshed and asked if we could have another drink. He first told us it was already too late and that the restaurant was actually closed. After a brief chat, he told us to sit down and served us the best wine, along with a delicious charcuterie plate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and at the end, we were given a tour of all the rooms and spaces. Hospitality at its finest!

22/12/2025: How can I put it? An exceptional place, even though it's currently under renovation. As for the owner's welcome, we loved it! Very kind, interesting, and attentive. And the breakfast was simply delicious. We will definitely be back. Charente-Maritime

07/04/2026: I was very pleasantly surprised. I hadn't been to Saint-Sébastien for 30 years. The setting is still as lovely as ever. There were nine of us, celebrating a special occasion, and we ordered dishes without even looking at the price. With wine in April, it came to €450. It's more expensive than McDonald's, but the quality is significantly better. None of us had any regrets. If you're looking for a sure thing, with quality food, don't hesitate to go.

29/03/2026: Mixed review. The restaurant's cleanliness leaves much to be desired, especially the dirty stairs. This is a shame because it's an establishment with a lot of charm. We even found breadcrumbs on the table before being served. Also, the ketchup bottles, already opened, remained at room temperature throughout the entire meal despite the storage instructions: "Once opened, keep refrigerated." The service, however, was a positive point, with friendly and helpful waiters. As for the food, the experience was inconsistent. The white asparagus purse, advertised with mushrooms and garlic cream, turned out to be different from the description, with the addition of unmentioned carrots and zucchini cooked with a sauce (salted soy sauce?). The result lacked cohesion, the asparagus being barely perceptible and the cream rather bland. The side dish also included a bagged salad. The salmon tataki was very good, although it too was served with a bagged salad. The cod loin, accompanied by leeks and a lime sauce, was decent but the portion was too small. Despite the freshness of the fish, the seasoning lacked depth, with the lemony note almost entirely absent for all the diners who chose this dish. Conversely, the lamb shank with its jus and the duck breast with sweet potato purée and orange sauce were thoroughly enjoyed. The desserts were also a hit! There were some good dishes and the staff was pleasant, but between the cleanliness issues and some disappointing dishes, the overall experience was rather average.

02/05/2026: The service was good, the place is nice, but the food... it's really not great. The gravlax salmon is edible, but frankly, nothing special. The chicken on the Caesar salad wasn't crispy and was cold; it tasted frozen. The beef tartare was really bad. I don't usually like to waste food; I finish it even if I don't like it, but honestly... the meat wasn't good, it seemed poor quality, and the spices weren't any better. I even questioned the freshness of the product.

14/09/2025: Very friendly welcome. The rooms are a little sparsely decorated but big and clean and super comfortable and the modern bathroom has a lovely shower. The WiFi signal is good. Essentially a comfy no frills place to stay at a reasonable price. Breakfast offered at €9 although I didn’t try it. Free parking outside the hotel. Recommended!

08/09/2025: We (two people on a motorcycle trip) spent one night at this hotel. The very friendly hostess looked after us wonderfully! The rooms are simple, but they were perfect for our needs. The evening menu was also really excellent. The motorcycles can be parked in a garage.

01/03/2026: Honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews. The owner's service was very kind and efficient, the croissant is wonderful, as is the raspberry macaroni we had. The coffee was very good and the hot chocolate is spectacular. It's a privilege to have a place like this in such a small town. We will be back many times!

23/12/2025: Clearly, he more than earned his qualification in pastry cream making and his doctorate in chocolates; in short, an excellent pastry chef and chocolatier. However, he only received a passing grade for shop layout and aesthetics and was soundly failed in the master's program for smile/friendliness.

20/04/2026: The room was spotless. The bathroom was spotless, although a walk-in shower would be better! However, the heating was too hot and couldn't be adjusted; you had to leave the window open to cool the room down! The price of breakfast doesn't reflect the quality offered! Neither the layout nor the quality is good; it's regrettable to have breakfast on stained tablecloths! Fortunately, the staff is very pleasant and friendly. The Accor group should impose its standards on its franchisees. 😏

16/04/2026: This hotel is not worth the price of the rooms. The breakfast was extremely meager for €18.50. There was only one coffee machine in service, which malfunctioned twice within 10 minutes, and the other was out of order. Before even saying hello, they asked for your room number to access the breakfast room, just in case... In short, we won't be returning for our business trips to Nevers.

01/11/2025: The village kebab shop is a true institution! Always a warm welcome, fast service, and above all, delicious sandwiches. Quality, quantity, and good cheer are always guaranteed. Well done to the whole team!
