02/07/2026: Just passing by for a quick drink. The terrace is quite large, the owner loves dogs and is very friendly. No complaints whatsoever! 👍

05/06/2026: A very warm welcome, lovely decor with numerous photos and texts by writers in the stairwell and dining room. Each room is named after a writer with photos on the walls (we had Simone de Beauvoir). Truly charming and welcoming.

19/05/2026: A very pleasant hotel (dedicated to literature) in the center of La Charité-sur-Loire. The managers are very friendly. There's a shelter for bicycles inside the courtyard, and a small, cozy, and quiet outdoor area (unfortunately, the weather didn't allow us to enjoy it). Our room (Molière) was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The breakfasts were very generous, and the manager was attentive to guests' needs. We were able to park without any problem in front of the hotel. We spent several nights in this peaceful hotel after spending days exploring the surrounding area. A lovely find.

24/07/2026: Nothing. Zero. Restaurant closed. Impossible to make a reservation by phone, voicemail full. No response to emails.

15/05/2026: What a wonderful surprise! A very extensive local menu, excellent dishes made with fresh ingredients and exquisitely prepared – kudos to the chef! The service is efficient and friendly. A real treat that's well worth the trip!

01/08/2026: We went to eat mussels and after sitting down at a table they said they didn't have any, so we ordered Aligot. We preferred to eat inside so we wouldn't have to breathe in anyone's smoke, and since the window was open, the table that was taken outside was a smoking table. I don't want to inhale smoke, and today, four days after paying by card, I see that they have charged me for the meal again (How did they get my information for that charge?). They then made a refund, but I find it worrying that they accessed my account.

27/06/2026: Arrived at 3:10 pm on a Saturday and greeted with a smile, enjoyed an excellent and generously portioned plate of caramel pork accompanied by delicious homemade lentils and rice. A pleasant experience and I would definitely return.

But this establishment has sunk pretty low by accepting a company that regularly offers "free" meals on the condition of attending a two-hour brainwashing session to force customers to buy products at ten times their actual price.

01/03/2026: Honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews. The owner's service was very kind and efficient, the croissant is wonderful, as is the raspberry macaroni we had. The coffee was very good and the hot chocolate is spectacular. It's a privilege to have a place like this in such a small town. We will be back many times!

23/12/2025: Clearly, he more than earned his qualification in pastry cream making and his doctorate in chocolates; in short, an excellent pastry chef and chocolatier. However, he only received a passing grade for shop layout and aesthetics and was soundly failed in the master's program for smile/friendliness.

24/07/2026: We were very disappointed with our experience. The service was truly lacking. The waiter didn't know the menu: when we asked him what the meat of the day was, he couldn't tell us. I ordered a medium-rare hamburger, but it arrived rare. The service was also very disorganized. Although we were among the first to arrive, other tables that arrived after us were cleared and served before ours. As a result, having arrived at noon, we were still waiting for our dessert at 1:45 pm, even though the restaurant was far from full. A disappointing experience, marked by a lack of professionalism and a serious lack of organization.

23/07/2026: Avoid at all costs... At 11 pm, they're having a blast with friends, but for my kids, it's closed... Even during the day, the service is appalling. At that price, we'll go somewhere else.

17/06/2026: We, a group of four motorcyclists, stayed one night in June. Good value for money. Excellent meals. Garage for motorcycles. Quiet location; our rooms overlooked the fields. Friendly welcome. We recommend it.

07/08/2026: We ate here in July during our stay in Nevers. The meals were adequate. We both had duck breast, but it was overcooked. As a result, the duck breast was quite tough. The friendliness of the serving staff made up for a lot.
