10/03/2026: A magnificent place, it's very pleasant to walk around.

09/03/2026: Easy parking before reaching the lake. Several hiking trails are available. The loop around the lake itself is very easy and takes about an hour. We did the loop around the lake and Puy de Montchal (1407m): about 3 hours. You can bring a picnic (there was still a little snow on March 7th). Beautiful panoramic views.

20/03/2026: The food was excellent, the service was top-notch and attentive. My only slight complaint is the speed at which the dishes were served—too quickly when you have time to spare. Perhaps you could ask your customers about this.

05/05/2026: We had a very good meal there, a St. Nectaire fondue with a nice plate of charcuterie, and a good ice cream at the end, I recommend it!

23/05/2026: We've been doing motorcycle road trips for five years, and this is the first time we've come across this kind of hotel. We booked through Booking.com. A couple canceled two days after the cancellation date, and we received no discount, even though there were seven bikers who could have spent money on the premises. The manager told us it was Booking.com refusing. Well, you should know that Booking.com always asks the manager for their opinion, and it's entirely up to the manager's discretion—"I know this firsthand since I manage a hotel myself." No negotiation was possible, and to top it off, we couldn't even get a smile out of the owner. The entire hotel needs renovation and maintenance. We visited all our booked rooms, and I think mine was the best. The bedding was worn and soft, but still clean. There were two electrical outlets per room, one for the television. It's 2026, and you have to understand that everything is electric, especially with bikers. The bathtub leaked. There was condensation on the windows. Even if you put up a "Do Not Enter" sign, it doesn't matter; the cleaning staff still comes in when we're not there. To book a restaurant, make sure you book well in advance, at least 15 days ahead, but it's not a big deal; there are some really nice restaurants just 5 minutes away. Breakfast isn't worth €12. And the staff... the owner should find another line of work. The young waiter doesn't understand anything, and then there's the gentleman who works the morning shift, who is very friendly, and the cleaning lady who comes into the rooms whenever she wants. The pool needs renovating. Well, it's a 2-star hotel, but at €100 a night for two people... We'll go back to the Auvergne region, but definitely not to your place.

23/05/2026: A charming hotel that we stayed in between the Ascension Day holiday rush and the Whit Monday weekend in 2026. The owner gave us a warm welcome, showing us to our room and providing information. The room was a good size for sleeping, and the small bathroom was adequate. We would have preferred a shower cubicle rather than a small bathtub (hence the one-star deduction for the room), but our hygiene wasn't affected 😄. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant after a swim in the indoor pool. The meal was excellent, and the service was pleasant. In short, very good value for money for this lovely establishment. Thank you again for the warm welcome.

03/05/2026: My friends and I went to La Souillarde hoping to have a nice time during our annual vacation. What a disappointment it was… it was a culinary disaster! First, a fly (according to the waitress) landed under a goat cheese toast. Then, a hair appeared in the truffade… which was paired with a cheap slice of raw ham, probably from a supermarket. Furthermore, a €26 ribeye steak that was nothing like a ribeye. Just fat, sinew, and it wasn't cooked properly… in short, inedible. We also ordered a glass of red wine, which we weren't given a choice of, and it arrived at the table without any further explanation… In short, we could also mention the frozen desserts and the waitress's complete lack of concern for all these problems, but it's best to leave it at that. We do not recommend this restaurant.

14/05/2026: A very warm welcome in a typically Auvergne setting. A complete change of scenery under a snow shower on Ascension Thursday. Discovering this place and meeting the people who run it was pure chance, but you know the saying, "chance favors the prepared mind." If you're ever in the area, stop by this charming and timeless spot.

09/05/2026: Stopped in for lunch. We booked our table before coming. We had the Gelat salad with Saint-Nectaire cheese and an egg. Really good, we recommend it. The white beer is also very good. Locally brewed. And a small floating island dessert to finish. Also very good. Excellent service. We recommend this restaurant 👍

12/05/2026: We've been several times. Friendly welcome. Quick service. The truffade is always delicious and plentiful. The presentation of the Italian ice cream was average. A few minor issues this time. Perhaps it would be sufficient to clean the tables (during service) with a damp sponge, without any cleaning product; it's very unpleasant to have the smell (or even the spray) of cleaning product while eating. Regarding the menu, I asked what the cheese in the "Yssoirian box" was: - "It's an Yssoirian box." - "Is that the name of the cheese?" - "Yes." - "Oh, the cheese is called an Yssoirian box?" - "Yes." - "I don't know it, what kind of cheese is it?" "It's a cheese that doesn't have much flavor, that's why we add onion, etc..." Anyway, I ordered a truffade... It's a shame our waitress (from whom we'd already had to ask for a carafe of water several times, the same one who sprayed cleaning product on the table next to ours) was unable to provide simple information, especially in a restaurant that uses cheese in several of its dishes. So, for Océane's benefit, the cheese is called Yssoirien (and the dish is called Boîte Yssoirienne), it's a raw cow's milk cheese. You're welcome...

02/05/2026: Good evening, we ate quite well! We originally booked a table at La Bergerie, but when we arrived, it was closed! They sent us to Le Chalet, telling us it was the same place, same chef, same team. Sorry, the setting isn't the same, the menu isn't the same! It was light! From a marketing standpoint, it's questionable! Anyway, the red wine from the volcanoes wasn't bad...
