13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.

13/09/2025: The restaurant has fundamentally changed its concept. Not a disaster in itself, but the links/photos should be changed. Completely understaffed, one poor server overwhelmed for the entire dining room. The kitchen is taking it easy during this time. Way too hot inside. The food is okay, nothing special. We just wanted to leave...

19/01/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at the gourmet restaurant La Tête d’Oie, with a simply exquisite view (table #5 😉). We chose the six-course menu, with a wine pairing for me and a non-alcoholic pairing for him. A big thank you to the sommelier for the quality and precision of both suggestions. Each dish was prepared with care and refinement. The welcome and service were impeccable from beginning to end. Excellent value for money for this type of establishment. Thank you to the chef and the entire team for this wonderful experience. I highly recommend it. PS: Practical tip: eat light during the day to fully enjoy the six-course menu… and come with an open stomach (and heart) ✨

11/12/2025: Great pub with a good choice of bar food and beers on tap. The staff were fantastic and made us feel right at home.

24/11/2025: Good place for a pint or two. Good atmosphere if you like sport as have games on.

18/06/2025: Dishes costing almost €20 with 4 pieces of chicken, cheese naans that are incredibly rubbery and squeaky under the teeth, and to top it all off, dishes that are not up to scratch. Napkins were also forgotten even though we were told at the counter that there were some... RUN AWAY!!!!!

04/01/2026: The atmosphere was lovely, the place had a lot of charm (with statues of the Virgin Mary, which I loved). The food was both excellent and plentiful. The waiter was very friendly. Even the dog was adorable. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

04/07/2025: Lovely staff who put AFL on the tv for us to watch with a fan as well as it was pretty hot! They really went above and beyond to look after us. Great tunes too.

02/07/2025: The Wallace is a sure bet for spending an evening with friends. The atmosphere is warm, the decor typical of an English pub, and the selection of beers is truly excellent. The dishes are simple but good, perfect with a pint. The service is generally friendly, even if it can sometimes be a bit lacking in responsiveness when it's busy. A great place to chill, watch a game, or enjoy an after-work drink!

22/09/2024: Fabulous killenny and delicious ruby rouge beer from Ireland The ruby rouge beer is amazing - rich creamy cherry flavour. Super refreshing. We met Brandon,our server at the pub, he let us sample some beers before ordering. We loved his warm hospitality ! Thank you for making our Lyon trip memorable.

01/09/2024: If you're tired of the dumplings and andouillettes served in most restaurants on Rue St Jean, then you can try the exotic at the Raj Mahal. We received good advice from the waiter, who did not push us to eat, and who directed us towards suggestions that were not too spicy. I don't remember the name of the dishes, but it was tandoori.

21/09/2024: So stellt man sich Lyonaiser Küche vor. Derb, bäuerlich, aber von guter Qualität. Wir bekamen einen Tipp, hier Bouchon Lyonnais zu probieren und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Gerne wieder.

19/09/2024: The vegetarian Poutine was great, a recommendation for sure! The waiters were very nice and they were happy to speak English with us. Would 100% come again.

23/09/2024: On our return trip from Provence, we spent two days in Lyon. This is where we came across Le Bœuf d’Argent by chance. In the evening, only menus are offered. The service was very friendly, and our questions were answered expertly. The wine list is huge, but help is available. The food was incredible, very refined, and every dish surprised us. A special experience was the appetizer before dessert, designed to cleanse our taste buds. Then the chef, an Italian lady, came to ask our opinion – simply excellent. It’s a slightly higher price range, but an absolute favorite to add a special touch to your visit to Lyon.

21/11/2025: A well-located shop in Lyon's old town, offering good quality ice cream and crepes. Outdoor seating is available in the summer.

16/11/2025: Hot chocolate so thick it was like hot ice cream you could eat with a spoon. Undrinkable (or inedible).

03/12/2025: Always a good time, a pirate's hideout just the way I like them. The service is very pleasant and they show rugby matches on a retro TV.
