The ambiance and decor are bold yet tasteful. Special mention goes to the superb wine selection. A truly wonderful discovery!

12/02/2026: I ordered a durum kebab and it had a huge, raw piece of fat inside – really unpleasant. I threw up. Extremely salty. Really not good. Burned meat and raw fat. It makes no sense. In short, I strongly advise against it.

26/02/2026: Passing through Bar-sur-Aube, I stopped at this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise! The setting is truly wonderful, a blend of the old stone walls of the cellar with simple, modern furnishings. The €29 Tradition menu (starter, main course, dessert) was very appealing. Fresh ingredients, attractive presentation, and perfectly balanced flavors. The only slight drawback was the "gourmet coffee," which was a bit average. Thank you for the warm welcome.

10/03/2026: We came for all-you-can-eat mussels around 8 pm. The waitress misspoke, telling us it was only available from 9 pm. Then we ordered, and she explained that since our order was placed before 9 pm, we could still order more mussels. However, at 8:55 pm, they came to tell us that if we wanted more, we had to order immediately. So, to clarify, the all-you-can-eat mussels are only available until 9 pm! What a shame. The waitress should definitely learn the menu better. Otherwise, the meal was very good, no complaints.

Jennifer, whom we've known for 8 years, always gives a very warm welcome with a smile! Don't hesitate any longer, come and try it, you'll be back!

09/01/2026: What a pleasant surprise for our dinner tonight! The staff were incredibly attentive, smiling, and friendly, the dishes were delicious, and I'd never even seen an éclair with Chaource cheese! I highly recommend this restaurant and we'll definitely be back.

22/02/2026: Appalling service! The moment we entered this place, we were faced with a rude question English?! If so we don’t have spaces for you! There are ways and ways to explain the place is fully booked although plenty of empty tables which didn’t have “reserved” signs anywhere. Staff needs to be trained how to greet potential customers, rather then rudely pointing out tourists who are happy to spend and help the local economy!

17/02/2026: A nice place for a drink, especially in summer with the terrace. The atmosphere is lively and the menu is reasonably priced. Be aware, however, that the music is quite loud, but that also contributes to the festive feel of the place.

16/02/2026: For our 40th wedding anniversary, we organized a family meal at La Gentilhommière. We had a wonderful time; the young chef prepared an excellent, high-quality meal, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely return.

05/01/2026: We came for Christmas Eve 2025 as a family (teenagers and adults) and had a wonderful time. We had a small room just for ourselves (there were eight of us), which made the evening feel very cozy and intimate. The staff was very attentive, and the food was delicious from start to finish. The teenagers thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well. We will definitely be back.
