Disappointed... I would have preferred to have been told that this cocktail couldn't be served at this time of day. (In the photo, I've already drunk a little from the glass, but anyway, it was only half full ☹️) For the price of the cocktail, frankly...

10/05/2026: Our stay at La Maison de Rhodes was an enchanting interlude in the heart of Troyes during a sporting weekend getaway. Nestled in a former Templar residence, this 5-star hotel elegantly blends the authenticity of its timber framing with contemporary refinement. Our spacious room, with its exceptional bedding and generously sized bathroom, guaranteed excellent comfort. The intimate, heated outdoor pool area was a haven of relaxation for a sunny afternoon. Dinner and breakfast, prepared with local products, delighted our palates. Finally, the warm welcome and helpful advice of the staff, who even took care of our reservation at a local restaurant, truly charmed us. An exceptional address, where history and hospitality come together perfectly. We will definitely return.

18/02/2026: Magnificent setting, ideal location, friendly welcome, comfortable room. The only drawback, and a significant one at that, was the breakfast: for €32 per person, you only get a croissant, a piece of bread, and a rusk so hard you could break your teeth on it. And when I dared to ask the young woman serving if it was possible to have a second croissant, I was curtly told, "No, it's one per person! We order them according to the number of guests, and it's one per person." And of course, she didn't offer me anything else. Needless to say, as soon as I left the hotel, I stopped at the first bakery I saw. In short, as someone accustomed to five-star hotels and Relais & Châteaux properties, I felt like I was in a run-of-the-mill youth hostel! This was my second stay at the Maison de Rhodes (the first must have been in 2018 or 2019), but I don't recall such a mishap, otherwise I obviously wouldn't have come back. But now I've learned my lesson: never again!

09/02/2026: A one-night stay with a room + dinner + breakfast package was excellent. The hotel, restaurant, and room were very clean. The owner was welcoming, the home-cooked meals were just the way we like them, and the chocolate mousse was delicious.

31/08/2026: We bought pizzas from the vending machine in Barberey this Sunday and were very disappointed. The crust was hard, and all the pizzas we ordered had far too much Gruyère cheese and very few other toppings. The Gruyère doesn't melt when reheated; it just hardens. Carrefour brand pizzas are better and three times cheaper!

17/07/2026: Pathetic: I reserved a truck on the website. It didn't mention automatic transmission, yet this is the truck they gave me. When I refused, the owner couldn't accept that it wasn't specified because people prefer it. He was incredibly unfriendly and unpleasant: it's a disgrace.

10/09/2026: I withdrew my review from July 2025 because the food has been awful since the chef left in January 2026. They need to bring in Philippe Echebest. The two dishes my wife and I received were completely inedible, yet we paid full price!

30/08/2026: Having tried Tante Reine's brunch several times, I'd generally been satisfied with the offerings and service until now. I went back today and unfortunately found the servers rather unprofessional (smoking a joint behind the counter was a bit much... and they forgot to serve us). As for the buffet, I find the selection less varied and of lower quality than before. The buffet area is very small, which unfortunately creates bottlenecks and makes it difficult to get food.

19/08/2026: Excellent service, friendly and welcoming! It's perfect for an afternoon snack with children, with a good selection of cakes, crepes, and waffles. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy.

09/08/2026: This restaurant offers very reasonable prices compared to other restaurants in the area. The food is good, the only downside being the Chaource lasagna, which was served in too small a portion, and the pizza dough, which wasn't exceptional. But everything is homemade, and it's very good... except for the desserts, which were a bit of a disappointment. The crème brûlée was very good, but the desserts in the "café gourmand" (gourmet coffee) seemed mass-produced, as did the chocolate fondant. We still recommend it if you're passing through Troyes.
