08/09/2024: A simple and warm hotel-restaurant! Quiet! A pleasant surprise, a very cute room with a pretty terrace offering a beautiful view! The evening dishes were simply delicious! Thanks to the cook!!! We had a very good stay! A very warm welcome!!

19/08/2024: Very nice little hotel, quite well renovated. Very nice place. Comfortable rooms, ours had a small terrace with table, chairs and parasol. The hotel has a swimming pool. The restaurant is very good, with surprises like the verbena baba. A very good short stay for us

02/08/2024: Recommandé par notre hôtesse, nous avons été très déçus par la cuisine , le service ayant été agréable et souriant . Choix limité de whisky ( deux) Pain sec Salade défraîchie dans tous les plats. Faux-filet ( 4 € de supplément), commandé saignant , finalement trop cuit et trop dur . Plat avec la saucisse plutôt bon. Dessert passable. En prime , une erreur sur l’addition à notre désavantage , corrigée par notre vigilance et celle du serveur . Aucun geste commercial… Copie à revoir!

30/08/2024: To ban I really put 1 star because I have to put some. When you don't have a sense of business, you don't do this job. Mediocre waitress. Chocolate bar not kept at the right temperature: melted chocolate… not sure that the competent services are ok with this.

I recommend this restaurant just a stone's throw from the exit Massiac village, stage of the A75,

26/08/2024: Everything is very good. The pizza has very thin dough, delicious. We arrived at 8:55 p.m. for dinner and, despite being late for France, they treated us very kindly.

03/09/2024: We had an excellent stay. The welcome is friendly, the room clean with very good bedding, the hearty homemade breakfast, a small relaxing swimming pool, a salad/truffade/charcuterie plate as a "repair" in the evening and the pleasure of a lunch overlooking the valley under the gaze of Anjony castle. Of course, the hostel remains typical but ideal, escaping the impersonal comfort of a "mercury" for 200€.

27/08/2024: Very pleasant stay in a clean, quiet, comfortable studio, with a beautiful view. Rest on deckchairs in the garden. Very warm welcome. We really enjoyed the dinner prepared by the owner (charcuterie, truffade and homemade compote).

10/05/2024: The delivery men enter the kitchen in biker suits and handle the pizzas with their fingers. The pizzas are ok, a little greasy, fake cheese type ingredients and a hard crust.

07/08/2024: Run away !! 1 hour wait, regarding the kitchen I have no words. Tourist trap...

07/08/2024: Disappointing experience: on the single menu is offered tomato parmesan tart then filet mignon...as a result, at 12:45 p.m. the tart is not ready!!! (We ended up with melon), the filet mignon was transformed into pork chop (but according to the waiter's admission "it's the same thing"...it's well known!!!). And we ask him what beer he has: no choice but Pelfort...only to hear him a few minutes later offering Afligen or other draft beer to another table...! So a misleading menu and a completely off-the-wall and casual waiter.

11/07/2024: Hotel very well located in a green setting. Very quiet, ideal for hiking in the area. The lady who runs the hotel is extremely kind and helpful, always available. The terminal for recharging electric cars included in the room price is a plus! Rooms with basic decor but very clean and comfortable. Thank you again for your welcome we will come back!

24/08/2024: Pleasant stay but a few points to improve: The service was correct, and the rooms were comfortable and very cool, which is always appreciated. The pool is a good point, but there is a lack of power sockets in the room which is a bit annoying. The bathroom was large enough, but I miss the bathtub that you have to step over to shower, which is not very practical at my age. A very positive point: the evening waitress was very friendly and friendly. On the other hand, the breakfast was insufficient. There was no buffet or ready-to-serve drinks, and you had to squeeze your own oranges. It's a shame, because the rest, including the evening meal, was pretty good.

11/08/2024: We just stopped to enjoy the terrace with our little dog and eat. Very very good restaurant, we discovered Truffade, an excellent dish from the region. Friendly and attentive staff, we had a pleasant time. If you pass by there you can stop there with your eyes closed.

18/09/2024: Je fréquente la région depuis tout petit, 1968 exactement. J y ai un pied à terre depuis 25 ans et cela faisait bien 5 ans que je n étais pas venu au restaurant du Valcastel, depuis l épisode "Égyptien" pour ceux qui connaissent... Après avoir consulté le site du restaurant pour connaître les.menus et les avis, j ai décidé d y dîner avec une petite appréhension vu les critiques acerbes qui y figurent. C est chose faite ce soir et je rejoins l avis de cet internaute qui s étonne des critiques sévères qu on peut y lire. J ai pris le.menu relais à 28 euros un soir de semaine. J ai mangé une cuisine travaillée plutôt raffinée. La quantité peut paraître juste au premier abord mais en fin de repas je ne suis pas reparti avec la faim. Peut être doit on choisir entre quantité et qualité? Pour ma part je suis satisfait à tout point de vue, repas, service et cadre. Personnel attentif et bienveillant. Je regrette que les clients insatisfaits n aient pas eu ma chance. Le prix ? Il est est aussi celui d un établissement qui ouvre tous les soirs quand le autres sont fermés 4 soirs sur 7. Avec un peu de réflexion et d analyse on peut peut-être faire preuve d indulgence. J y retournerai et si parfois je devais changer d avis, je ne manquerai pas de le faire savoir.

14/08/2024: Un excellent service rapide et efficace félicitations. Mais nous avons été déçu par les crêpes aussi bien celles au sarrasin que les sucrées. L’ensemble revient un petit peu cher à la carte.

16/07/2024: We were able to test the new menu that the Maxotel offers every Saturday lunchtime in July and August. And we enjoyed ourselves, the service was excellent and fast, a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I recommend.
