10/07/2025: The waitress was very rude. They forced us to consume more under the pretext that we were too busy at the table (4) but not enough to consume (3). When we asked for a glass of water, they immediately sent us packing.
I strongly advise against this bar!

18/09/2024: Je fréquente la région depuis tout petit, 1968 exactement. J y ai un pied à terre depuis 25 ans et cela faisait bien 5 ans que je n étais pas venu au restaurant du Valcastel, depuis l épisode "Égyptien" pour ceux qui connaissent...
Après avoir consulté le site du restaurant pour connaître les.menus et les avis, j ai décidé d y dîner avec une petite appréhension vu les critiques acerbes qui y figurent.
C est chose faite ce soir et je rejoins l avis de cet internaute qui s étonne des critiques sévères qu on peut y lire.
J ai pris le.menu relais à 28 euros un soir de semaine. J ai mangé une cuisine travaillée plutôt raffinée. La quantité peut paraître juste au premier abord mais en fin de repas je ne suis pas reparti avec la faim. Peut être doit on choisir entre quantité et qualité?
Pour ma part je suis satisfait à tout point de vue, repas, service et cadre. Personnel attentif et bienveillant. Je regrette que les clients insatisfaits n aient pas eu ma chance. Le prix ? Il est est aussi celui d un établissement qui ouvre tous les soirs quand le autres sont fermés 4 soirs sur 7.
Avec un peu de réflexion et d analyse on peut peut-être faire preuve d indulgence.
J y retournerai et si parfois je devais changer d avis, je ne manquerai pas de le faire savoir.

01/09/2024: Great restaurant, well located, excellent cuisine, so much so that it was our regular restaurant during this week of vacation. We tried lunch, dinner and aperitif boards without any disappointment of any kind. Our congratulations for the salted butter caramel cream which dethrones those eaten before....A fast, efficient and pleasant service at the foot of the mountain....Go for it.

Nous sommes venue déjeuner.
Mon mari avait commandé un Burger cantalou.
La serveuse lui a demandé si il veut des frites avec. Biensur qu'elle savait qu'il y avait en accompagnement des frites,lorsqu'elle nous a servi elle a emmené en plus des frites qu il y avait en accompagnement un autre plat de frite.
Ceux qui a fait augmenter la note.
Méfiez-vous de la serveuse quand elle demande voulez-vous des frites avec, oh faites elle vous propose un autre plat de frites pas celui en accompagnement.
Elle l 'a fait à un autre client mais il a été malin en demandant bien si avec le Burger il y avait pas de frite.

Don't be fooled by the rather pretty frame, the abi doesn't make the monk a huge disappointment!!!!!

09/11/2024: Great moment with friends. We ate succulent spring rolls with the wok. The fish is excellent. Never disappointed when we come. We travel 90 km to come and have a great time.
Maybe lack of choice in your desserts 🍨 🍨 🍨. The ice creams are great. We will come back.
Correction: we ate there yesterday November 8, 2024 and the knives at our table were dirty (chocolate) as well as the paper placemats full of grease. Lack of choice in food, not enough quantity and not restocking. Hot dishes are cold. The desserts are inedible, not good. When paying not even a thank you goodbye.
We won't come there again. You have lost customers.

This is not an all-you-can-eat restaurant. It’s a donation place. The service is non-existent. There is almost no choice. The food is rotten, the meat is brown. The fight is very hard. Cold fries.
You will be alone eating because the restaurant is empty.
If you come to this place you come to donate money, you really have to come with this in mind otherwise you will be very disappointed.

01/09/2024: party organized by the staff right in front, impossible to sleep because of the loud music even with the window closed, it lasted until 2:30 in the morning. unbearable heat in the room, when we arrived there were just cheese and charcuterie boards...
I saw a review very similar to mine from 3 weeks ago today, too bad.

Nothing to eat in the middle of August for lunch!
Just a board of charcuterie or cheese
For the butter you have to ask and the pickles you have to forget because there won't be any!
No dessert either! Not even an ice cream stick!
Phew! There is coffee served without Neapolitan or other sweet treats!
Barely courteous welcome
These people should think about changing jobs!!!
It’ll make you want to plan a picnic rather than trying to make the locals work!

18/08/2024: A little too expensive for the current standard. The reception is correct and accommodating but the cleaning service can be revised. A bit off-center without it being infeasible on foot. On the other hand, in the middle of the festival, take into account the slightly unusual wake-up times and do not run the lawn mower at 7 a.m. or knock at 10 a.m. on 2 affiliated days.
