09/12/2025: No problems to report except for adding telephones in case of problems in the rooms and a lot of noise in the corridors at certain times.

Tang gourmet
Gare, Paris
22/05/2026: For a quick bite, good, reasonably priced, pleasant service.
21/05/2026: Large place and very well located. There's quite a wait inside.
I tried two banh mi: the Gourmet and the Lemongrass Beef.
The Gourmet was pretty good, but classic (average quality). I wasn't too keen on the Lemongrass Beef; the flavor reminded me a bit of curry. So it's nice if you're in the area, but not worth going out of town for.

New China
Orleans
04/04/2026: Delicious dishes and very pleasant service
02/04/2026: What a disappointment!
I was drawn in by the window display, what a mistake.
I ordered stir-fried noodles and chicken with black mushrooms, which were completely tasteless and far too salty.
I thought I was going to have a delicious meal, but no such luck!

15/05/2026: Amazing Chinese Khmer and Vietnamese dancing and food - réal réal Nice
28/04/2026: Large restaurant with plenty of seating, very busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Quieter during the week, so less noisy. Good food with a wide selection. The roast suckling pig is recommended, but you must pre-order it.

Etoile De Chine
Saussay
13/06/2026: I've been coming every week for 15 years and I've never been disappointed.
The food is varied and refined, and they never make a mistake with the order, so
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
10/06/2026: This restaurant is a disgrace. To begin with, the waiters sigh when you ask for a carafe of water, and they speak to you as if you're annoyed that you came. The dishes are either cold or they're out of food. The restrooms are constantly dirty. Then my family and I decided not to go back to the restaurant but to order takeout because we do enjoy Asian food, but even then, it's a complete mess. Either a dish is missing, or it's covered in sauces that don't match anything we ordered, or it's simply not what we ordered at all. And speaking of sauces, when you ask for a mild sweet and sour sauce, they give you the spicy kind. We've been coming to this restaurant for years, and until the first change of ownership a while ago, it was fine, very pleasant, but since then it's been a complete disaster. Honestly, it's better to drive a bit further to eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet in Mantes or Évreux than to continue supporting the business of people who aren't even happy that you're eating there. However, the only positive thing about this restaurant is the person in charge of the wok station; he's lovely and very professional. It's fortunate he's there to salvage the disastrous level of this establishment. I also want to point out that the manager's responses to some reviews are completely unprofessional. He acts like a child who can't take criticism and prefers to chase away customers who point out problems rather than trying to resolve them to improve the reviews and the quality of the service and the restaurant. If you don't change anything, you're going to lose a lot of customers, both regular and casual, even though you have great potential because you're the only Asian restaurant for miles around. It's a real shame.

China Town
Avignon
23/05/2026: We just moved to the area.
We were familiar with Le Léopard in Torcy (77).
A magnificent restaurant in every way.
Last night we decided to eat at Le Léopard in Avignon, thinking it would be the same as the one in Torcy.
What a huge mistake!
I woke up this morning feeling extremely unwell, with a stomach ache and an incredible headache.
I keep going to the bathroom.
I suspected something was wrong with the sashimi.
I've been to over 300 Asian restaurants in my life, all over the world.
This is the first time I've ever encountered such a food safety disaster! The presentation was disappointing.
But I still tasted it.
One of the biggest regrets of my life.
And don't even get me started on the rest of the dishes.
Absolutely horrific.
Spring rolls that had been cooked and recooked.
Maybe they were left over from the day before.
And definitely reheated in the microwave.
Because they weren't crispy at all.
Dry and bland.
The tables and floor were filthy.
My God, a hygiene disaster.
I'm thinking of going to the emergency room.
Because eating raw fish like I did could be fatal.
And my headaches are no joke.
And then, when my husband finally decided to pay the bill, and we were leaving, a man at the reception desk (probably the manager) attacked us, demanding the receipt.
As if we were criminals.
We told him the receipt was still on our table.
He told us to "stay put."
And went to check.
How shameful! My husband was this close to punching him.
But we're respectable people.
So he'll soon understand that I work for the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations (DDPP).
The purpose of my department is to ensure the health of consumers.
I work closely with the Departmental Directorate of Veterinary Services and the Directorate for Fraud Prevention; we act to enforce quality and hygiene standards in the restaurant industry.
The Avignon Leopard will learn that you don't play around with health.

20/05/2026: I often eat there, and this is the first time I've found insect paste in my food. It was disgusting. I know it's insect paste because there were some kind of spikes on its leg.

Le Royal Bambou
Neuville-Sur-Oise
28/05/2026: Very limited selection, the food was cold, don't go there, I got food poisoning
21/05/2026: I've been to Royal Bambou several times with my husband and friends, and we've had three very negative experiences.
The customer service is truly awful.
The first time, we were with friends, and they made it very unpleasant to tell us it was time to leave.
Then, the second time, with my husband, around 1 p.m., a woman complained that we were seated at a table meant for four… even though it was one of their employees who had seated us.
And another time, my husband found an expired yogurt! So, a word of advice: avoid this place, because judging by the previous reviews, it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident, unfortunately.
Luckily, the restaurant across the street has reopened!

Royal Gourmet
Versailles
09/05/2026: One of the best places in Versailles for good and fast Chinese food. I have been going there for more than 10 years, never disappoints.
21/03/2026: €18 per kilo for Cantonese rice is a bit of a rip-off.
Edit: €1.85 / 100g, so €18.50 per kilo indeed, my apologies :)

Le Cite d'Or
Antibes
13/05/2026: Several food options, very clean and very well maintained
03/05/2026: Frankly, a very unpleasant experience at this all-you-can-eat buffet. Upon arrival, we were asked to pay before even eating, under the pretext that "young people leave without paying." This is not only unfair but also frankly insulting. Being judged like this for no reason immediately creates a bad atmosphere.
Beyond that, the welcome was cold and unprofessional, which doesn't help one feel comfortable. You come to have a good time, not to be suspected the moment you walk through the door.
I understand that some establishments have had bad experiences, but generalizing and treating all young customers like thieves is unacceptable. I do not recommend this place, especially if you are looking for a minimum of respect and consideration.

Chinatown
Annemasse
26/01/2026: New owner, new kitchen, and most importantly, new prices!
For that price (€17-€24), go to Pacific Gaillard or Saint Julien. (Otherwise, Vénissieux-Lyon if you're willing to make the trip, but it's worth it.) It's an all-you-can-eat buffet, but you only get one regular naan. The people sitting next to us were given a cheese naan without even asking... It's served at random.
And it's not even good. I won't be back, and this review is for those who, like me, were thinking, "Let's give it a try." Absolutely not!
11/12/2025: The young man at the reception is very friendly and the food is super good! I recommend the restaurant, great find.

Tai Yien
Combat, Paris
05/05/2026: Very good, typical Chinese food! The service was quick, but they forgot three glasses of soy milk in the microwave...they were only served at the end of the meal. The restaurant was full.
It was quite noisy, but that's normal for a Chinese restaurant.
10/04/2026: A living Belleville treasure, a survivor from a bygone era
Tai Yien (大元隆家), 5 rue de Belleville, is much more than a restaurant: it's a Proustian madeleine for anyone who grew up in the Asian Belleville of the 1980s. After more than 40 years, this legendary establishment is one of the very few survivors of a time when the neighborhood was the beating heart of Paris's Sino-Vietnamese community. I went back with my mother, and as soon as we stepped inside, we were enveloped by a sweet and powerful nostalgia: the same wooden tables, the same warm and unpretentious atmosphere, the same feeling of being somewhere authentic, untouched by time and trends.
The house specialty is Cantonese rotisserie, and they master it to perfection. We ordered the Peking duck, served in generous chunks, its skin glistening and perfectly caramelized, its meat meltingly tender and fragrant, accompanied by a rich, slightly sweet homemade soy sauce. We also enjoyed the crispy roast pork (siu yuk), whose puffed, golden skin crackled as it should, revealing tender, well-seasoned meat. All of this was served with the traditional jar of pickled red chilies on the table, a detail that, in itself, encapsulates the spirit of these old-fashioned Asian eateries.
The menu is generous and varied: beyond the rotisserie, there's a melt-in-your-mouth pork belly that falls apart at the touch of a fork, succulent lacquered and caramelized pork ribs, fragrant fried rice of a kind rarely seen anymore, and many other classics of traditional Chinese cuisine. Each dish is prepared with the care and precision passed down through generations, without ever trying to do too much. Note that the half-duck is also available for takeout, an excellent option for extending the enjoyment at home.
And all this at a remarkably affordable price, which, in the heart of Paris, is almost miraculous for cuisine of this quality.
The service also deserves praise: the young women who run the dining room are charming, attentive, and efficient, with a blend of naturalness and thoughtfulness that immediately puts you at ease. You feel welcomed like a regular, even after years away.
In a Belleville that has profoundly changed, gentrified, and transformed over the decades, Tai Yien stands strong. It is the guardian of a collective memory, that of a working-class, multicultural, and vibrant neighborhood, the one many of us knew as children. Going back is like rediscovering a part of yourself.
A rare gem, absolutely recommended to all those who love real roasted Cantonese cuisine, to those who seek unpretentious authenticity, and to all the children of Belleville, past and present.

Palais d'Asie
Troyes
04/12/2025: For a restaurant that's been around for years, I was very disappointed. Too Frenchified, lacking flavor, and above all, bland. Add some zest to your dishes!
22/11/2025: Incomplete order,
Disgusting food, I really do not recommend this "restaurant". Horrible caramel chicken, horrible noodles, and I'm not even going to mention the soggy spring rolls, tasteless samosas, order not respected, no shrimp or prawns, their doughnuts are absolutely nothing like they are described, too greasy.
