Starters, main courses, and desserts were all equally delicious, with remarkable presentation.
A friendly and professional team.

21/02/2026: We had a reservation at this restaurant and arrived with our dog. Upon arrival, we were stopped outside and clearly refused service because of his presence, even though our small dog weighs 4 kg. No prior exception was made, nor was any solution offered, despite the 30-minute drive.
If pets are not allowed, this should be clearly stated at the time of booking. Refusing service to customers on the spot, despite a reservation, is unacceptable.
We had to leave without being able to have dinner, with a feeling of complete disregard. A very disappointing experience and a clear lack of professionalism.
Following your response: What you seem to be missing is that I'm not criticizing you for not accepting dogs; you have every right to refuse them. It's the way we were treated, knowing that we had a reservation, that we had to be on time or risk not being served, and that we had traveled a long way! So yes, I don't allow dogs in my salon, but sometimes you have to make an exception to best satisfy your clients, especially since we didn't have an Argentinian Mastiff!
Now, dear sir, the treat wasn't very generous with us!

The owners went out of their way to accommodate my lactose intolerance.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere.
And products in the shop so I could continue enjoying them at home.

07/02/2026: A wonderful culinary experience with a truffle-based meal that surprisingly complements every course, from appetizer to dessert.
This venue is particularly recommended for group gatherings, although the service suffers somewhat as a result.

01/03/2026: We dined at this restaurant on the recommendation of a colleague. The setting is very pleasant, and the dish was decent, except for the vegetarian aioli. Reducing the price by €1 compared to the meat or fish versions doesn't seem like good value for money.
The chef was very friendly and made sure everyone was served properly, all by himself! Well done! It's a shame the waitress was so cold and formal in her approach, but there was also a very attentive young waiter.
17/02/2026: I was very disappointed with my stay. The hotel is poorly maintained; there was no secure lock on the door. The water barely worked, and the price was ridiculously high for just one night. Definitely not worth it. Furthermore, I was overcharged for breakfast, which included a truly awful croissant.

12/01/2026: Between Christmas and December 30, 2025, we stayed at this hotel and dined twice at the hotel restaurant, "CHABROL." We greatly appreciated the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The restaurant is truly gourmet, and the dining room overlooking the Dronne River is spacious and very pleasant. Pets are welcome.
09/11/2025: The receptionist was very welcoming.
We had dinner at the restaurant, a lovely experience with pleasant service.
The sommelier was attentive and offered enthusiastic recommendations.
The room was beautifully renovated.
The breakfast was adequate.
In short, a wonderful and delightful stay.

06/04/2026: Charming, peaceful spot on the banks of the Dronne. Traditional cuisine, regional dishes. One set menu, but everything can be ordered à la carte.
05/04/2026: The food was passable, bordering on mediocre. We ordered salads (average) and duck confit, which was reheated and tasteless. However, the worst thing by far was the time we spent eating. We arrived at 12:35 and left almost at 3:00 PM, even though it wasn't peak season. Far too long.

We highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

18/09/2025: I must have caught them on a bad day. After sitting on the terrace for five minutes, I went to the bar to order. The owner (?), with her lemony, acidic exterior, threw two coffees on the counter. I had to ask for a tray to serve myself on the terrace. NEVER AGAIN!!! ☹️🤮 While I have time as a retiree, as a professional (career change is possible, I recommend it to the owner) I have much less. The time saved by not waiting in vain for a coffee allows me to write positive reviews. Perhaps the owner was reading the ones left about her establishment?

02/10/2025: We understand the signs asking for leniency with hard-to-recruit staff. We don't allow a dish (hot) that made a guest sick over three different courses. We were forced to have one dish per guest, so we didn't have dessert.
Move on; other restaurants are accessible near the garden along the Dronne River.

Et quel dommage cet accueil .. une succession de remarques sur un ton pas très cool . C est dommage avec un plus de sympathie nous serions revenus .
03/09/2024: Bonjour étant en vacances à Brantome nous nous sommes arrêtés dans ce restaurant pour le repas du soir, nous avons été accueillis agréablement bien le service au petit soin les plats sont délicieux et copieux. Si vous passez par Brantome je vous recommande ce restaurant sans hésiter vous ne serez pas déçu.
