17/05/2026: Delicious food in a most pleasant setting, topped off with friendly service. A moment you'll want to repeat.
16/05/2026: Superb setting, warm and very pleasant staff. There were six of us, and the menu was very diverse, featuring local produce. We ordered very different dishes, and they were all a hit. The food was exceptionally good—gourmet, sophisticated, and above all, delicious.
I recommend it 1000%!

19/05/2026: A very pleasant experience. The welcome, service, and staff were top-notch; we even got a bit of French history while our water was being served. The meal was excellent.
Excellent value for money. The set menu and pretty tablecloth were lovely; we'll be back.

24/05/2026: What a fabulous hotel! Classy without being snobby. Our room overlooking the river was stunning, the staff were absolutely amazing, and as for the meal in the restaurant... no words! We felt welcome and at home. If you're considering staying here, stop thinking and just book it!
12/05/2026: This small and beautiful hotel is perched above the weir (to supply the mill wheel) and you enjoy the sound of torrents of water constantly rushing. My room was spacious, well appointed and had a lovely view over the pretty town of Brantôme en Périgord. The staff were lovely and helped with anything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning sunshine was perfect! The scrambled eggs were cooked exactly as I like them (and I’m very fussy about scrambled eggs!) and the bread and croissants were delicious. Home made preserves too.
A really lovely stay!
Two small criticisms. They charge €15 to park your car (you have to give them the keys), the WiFi is unbelievably slow (less than 1 MB/s)

25/05/2026: The only one to welcome us, and in good spirits, even though it was 2 pm. Great atmosphere, excellent meal on the magnificent terrace overlooking the Drone. Beautiful place, I recommend it.
24/05/2026: The local dishes were excellent, generous portions, and prepared with quality ingredients. The riverside setting is truly delightful and adds to the restaurant's charm.
We visited at the end of May, so just at the beginning of the season, which makes the situation all the more surprising. Despite a large staff, the service seemed very disorganized: several different servers for our table, orders taken out of order, desserts forgotten… The atmosphere in the dining room was quite tense, with shouting exchanges between servers in the middle of the customers, and even remarks from the owner made in front of everyone.
With such disorganization, it was unfortunately almost inevitable that there would also be problems with the bill… and indeed there were: some dishes were charged multiple times, items were missed, corrections had to be made, etc.
You can tell the staff is doing their best and running around everywhere, but the lack of coordination clearly detracts from the experience. It's a shame, because the quality of the food truly deserves better.

01/03/2026: We dined at this restaurant on the recommendation of a colleague. The setting is very pleasant, and the dish was decent, except for the vegetarian aioli. Reducing the price by €1 compared to the meat or fish versions doesn't seem like good value for money.
The chef was very friendly and made sure everyone was served properly, all by himself! Well done! It's a shame the waitress was so cold and formal in her approach, but there was also a very attentive young waiter.
17/02/2026: I was very disappointed with my stay. The hotel is poorly maintained; there was no secure lock on the door. The water barely worked, and the price was ridiculously high for just one night. Definitely not worth it. Furthermore, I was overcharged for breakfast, which included a truly awful croissant.

We ordered one course and waited over 30 minutes in the dining room.
Everyone was overwhelmed, despite the charming staff. I wouldn't recommend it, especially since the prices are relatively high.

17/05/2026: The overall stay was satisfactory. A minor drawback was the surrounding noise (traffic and neighbors), as well as the lack of a welcome tray with a kettle and some tea/coffee bags, which would have been a real plus.
Otherwise, the hotel is very well located and close to the free Henri IV parking lot!
04/05/2026: The hotel was well located – thankfully.
We opted for a superior room at €140 per night, with breakfast at €20 to keep with the theme.
The room was clean... provided you didn't look too closely at the generously stained carpet. The bathroom, delightfully frozen in time with its candy pink decor, offered the added bonus of peeling tiles in front of the sink. A certain charm, no doubt.
The price, however, is firmly rooted in the present... and rather ambitious considering the amenities.
As for breakfast, it was adequate but meager; we had to wait until the second day and a buffet to get anything close to what one might expect at this price.
On the other hand, dinner at the hotel restaurant was very good with impeccable service. It's a shame the hotel itself doesn't live up to this standard.

05/06/2026: A wonderful discovery in Brantôme. The welcome is warm, friendly, and professional. The duck andouillette is an original and particularly delicious specialty. The menus are balanced, flavorful, and prepared with high-quality ingredients.
The traditional homemade pastries are excellent and pair perfectly with the coffees and teas offered. The new owner has brought a breath of fresh air to the establishment. Her unusual background as a former pharmacist is reflected in the attention paid to the balance and quality of the dishes. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for lunch, a gourmet coffee, or afternoon tea in Brantôme.

27/05/2026: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Indeed, regarding the terrace, you have plenty of space, and generally, when a terrace is empty, it's never a good sign; we learned that the hard way! Passing through Brantôme, discovering a magnificent village whose history has forced it to defend itself, yet which has managed to retain all its splendor, we were met with a cold and very unpleasant welcome. Regarding the motorcycle helmets we had to put on the ground, a waitress nearing retirement (not a smile, as friendly as a prison guard) took our orders (for 10 people) and informed us that water was €0.20 per glass, not by the carafe. We ended up paying around €30 for coffees, Perrier with half a slice of lemon (which was charged), and soda. With such beautiful weather, we were quite thirsty! 😉
We only realized this when we went to pay at the counter, after the waitress had already collected part of the payment, that everyone would pay at the counter! With unfailing friendliness; and then, surprise!
Apparently, some drinks were missing that hadn't been paid for! Two coffees. With a manager as friendly as the English guards, we were easily insulted and disrespected, with a hint of rudeness!
Flee this establishment if you want to have a pleasant time, definitely not here! No hygiene standards whatsoever regarding the toilets, and the manager and waitress are as friendly and disrespectful as the characters in Money Heist! An establishment that thinks it's above the common folk and makes sure you know it! Shameful! I've never experienced this kind of behavior towards customers!
24/05/2026: I will never return with my biker friends. The welcome was poor; a glass of water cost 20 cents, and half a slice of lemon 🍋 also cost 20 cents – outrageous! We will not be back.

03/09/2024: Bonjour étant en vacances à Brantome nous nous sommes arrêtés dans ce restaurant pour le repas du soir, nous avons été accueillis agréablement bien le service au petit soin les plats sont délicieux et copieux. Si vous passez par Brantome je vous recommande ce restaurant sans hésiter vous ne serez pas déçu.

The managers and their team provide impeccable service.
Ideal location for day trips, and central in the town of Brantôme.
The breakfasts (hearty) and the hearty meals too (quality local specialties), are served, among other things, by the managers with professionalism and a touch of very appreciable humor.
Room/bathroom well equipped and very clean.
Book with your eyes closed!
