13/11/2024: Very good restaurant, family restaurant, at the foot of Mont Gerbier des. Rushes. Dishes, typically local, with a very beautiful presentation. Well done to the cook and his staff who are friendly and available. The omelette with porcini mushrooms and chestnut and verbena was delicious. I recommend this establishment. Be careful after November 11th maybe closed! 👍

02/11/2024: Honestly I haven't been able to try a meal! The reception, which was initially rough, unfriendly and unsmiling, discouraged us from going beyond a simple coffee. We didn't want to disturb them further.

21/11/2024: Friendly and friendly welcome. The meals (dinner and breakfast), nothing to say. Very correct and succulent meat. Where it is much less good is the accommodation. So I'm curious to see what the boss will say because he defends himself against everything. But in view of the numerous comments, I am willing that some exaggerate (the music in the morning is very zen and therefore not disturbing at all) but the majority seem to agree on the lack of comfort and above all, for my part, the lack of cleanliness. The rooms are very simple but no problem there. On the other hand, bathroom with small face towels, no bath sheets, lots of cobwebs. Hop a little vacuum cleaner and duster and we're done. Well, you have to unmake the beds before leaving, but here too, oh surprise, room 1 the mattress is moldy, room 2 the mattress pad is immaculate with blood! The mattresses are very worn and therefore sagging. We stayed 3 days so 2 nights. No sweeping of the dining room. As for the dresser, it is loaded with plates but they are full of bread crumbs and sawdust, due I think to worms that have lodged in the wood. Nothing serious in short but here too a good cleaning would be more than necessary. The freezer in which the ice trays are located is filled with bread crumbs. The lids are not properly placed on the bins, ... There is a very nice view through the window of the room but again no cleanliness. Lots of dead animals, dust. Housekeeping doesn't seem to be their strong suit. No problem, a cleaning lady could take care of it. The establishment was taken over 4 years ago but a good refresh seems necessary, even urgent! 19/10/2024: The place could be exceptional, except that the dormitories are not up to standard. Beds are crammed together, with little or no room to drop backpacks into the spaces. Place it under the bed, we forget, the dust does not have to be removed often. No bedside table, only one coat rack at the entrance (practical for 10 people...). No fire detector (it's just obligatory), no emergency lighting unit (obligatory). Insufficient number of toilets, fortunately, there is one in the street and public 20m away. A shower for 10. Phew, the meal was excellent.

31/08/2024: Super location, very nice owner and staff and fantastic views above this valley in the Ardeche. Also live music every Friday.

30/08/2024: Splendid view (although they put us in a corner even though we had reserved and pretended that a table with a bird's eye view was reserved when that was not the case) Attractive menu but the welcome from the manager made us leave the table when taking our order. When you work in this sector of activity these things are prohibitive. Next

17/09/2024: L endroit est joli (il y a juste une belle vue sur le Rhône). Grosse attente. Serveuses désagréables, mal aimables. Assiette de charcuterie déplorable en qualité et en quantité. Entrecôte demandée à point servie braisée à l extérieur et saignante à l intérieur. Coupe de fruits jolie mais peu fournie. Tout ça pour un maître restaurateur. A éviter.

07/09/2024: Restaurant agréable et de qualité. Bon accueil également. Le plat du jour (poisson, sauce seiche, tres bon) aurait juste mérité un petit accompagnement de légumes ou riz. Bien à vous.

17/08/2024: Un restaurant, très bien, des salariés souriants, très accueillants, l’assiette Castel est excellente, service plus que satisfaisant, avec des cocktails succulents. La terrasse bien entretenue, c’est un restaurant plus que recommandable, la cuisine y est excellente.

06/10/2024: Good experience for our first time, good product, well presented, correct quantity. Price in the average restaurant pleasant service if you have to look for a downside would say a menu similar to many basic restaurants salads ravioli but given quality not a problem and originality with the mussels and frankly very good fries and very good review of beautiful Hélène pear (great final touch)

07/11/2024: Nous nous sommes arrêtés au hasard.. mais ce hasard est très surprenant car le restaurant est sympa. La cuisine très bonne mes prix corrects pour le menu du jour, et le personnel à l écoute de nos envies. Je recommande sans moderation. En plus tres insonorisé...et quand on visite un peu le lieu on voit une super grande piece de restaurant ouon peut faure des seminaires ou un mariage.. Bref Je garde cette adresse

27/08/2024: AVERTISSEMENT pour les FAMILLES: Propriétaires VIOLENTS envers les femmes et enfants. Je suis choquée et en colère après l'expérience que j'ai eu avec ce restaurant aujourd'hui. Ma sœur avait appelé pour prendre une réservation ce midi et on nous avait CONFIRMÉ que c’était bon. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés sur place, nous avons été surprise de découvrir que nous devions manger à l'extérieur avec la température glaciale (10 degrés), malgré avoir précisé la présence d’un enfant en bas âge. C'était déplaisant, et le propriétaire a pris les choses à un niveau INACCEPTABLE. Il nous a dit que nous n'avions pas de réservation, bien que ma sœur ait eu une CONFIRMATION au téléphone. Le propriétaire nous a montré le récapitulatif de ses appels, nous a montrer son historique de téléphone afin de prouver ces dires, et a commencé à ce montrer MENAÇANT verbalement. Mon neveu de 2 ans était dans les bras de ma sœur et le propriétaire a commencé à l’AGRESSER verbalement, puis PHYSIQUEMENT en lui bloquant la porte. C'est incroyable que quelqu'un puisse se comporter de manière si inhumaine et agressive envers des clients, en particulier avec un bébé dans les bras. Je ne peux recommander ce restaurant à personne et je suis préoccupée pour la sécurité de futures clients.

27/08/2024: Accueil déplorable, café imbuvable c était de l' eau malgré le prix. Nous avons eu droit à un demi sucre après réclamation. D autre part si vous ne parlez pas français, n' y aller pas , car aucun effort ne sera fait pour vous comprendre et on vous incite à aller voir ailleurs. Personnel agressif.

15/09/2024: My partner and I wanted to make public the great experience we had with Thierry's partner: Nicolas. Nicolas from the house “père Nicolas” amazed us but above all delighted our taste buds: Platter of charcuterie, verines, cured ham cooked in foil. He is a true generous and friendly professional who made the baptism of our little princess a moment that will remain forever engraved. A piece of advice when he says “trust me” go there with your eyes closed 😁. And personally we will continue to place our trust in him for our upcoming marriage. The only negative thing I would have to say is that I haven't found a site that is fully dedicated to you where we could write you this lovely comment.

07/10/2024: Great welcome by a very attentive team. A special point for the motorcycle garage and the water bottle ;-) Close to the center of Aubenas! Very clean room and sanitary facilities. The new owner is very nice. He redid the entire interior of the hotel. Me and my wife will undoubtedly return there on our next trip to the region. Thanks again for the welcome.

01/09/2024: Glaces délicieuses et boutique sympathique. Le milk-shake chocolat est très bon aussi. Petites meringues proposées en attendant la commande. Endroit au calme même s’il se trouve dans une petite zone plutôt artisanale, hors centre-ville. Équipe jeune et dynamique.

10/09/2024: After being refused a restaurant I was directed to Estello and what a nice surprise. Super friendly waiters, they knew how to put me at ease even though I came alone. I chose the entire menu with the suggestions of the moment: a delight! The salmon tartare, Ardèche trout and fondant, flawless! Thank you, I'm happy to have taken the plunge of a solo restaurant at your place!

05/09/2024: Dinner on September 2. “Amateurs” Endless waiting for very disappointing dishes! (very high price). A trap that will be part of bad memories.. Forever 🙂‍↕️
