09/09/2026: Disastrous welcome. Young children not welcome. They offer a bar stool as a chair, and a baby, without the slightest shame. You really must have never attended hospitality school to dare to do that.

17/08/2026: We had a delicious meal here. My husband and I chose to share 3 starters. Gravlax salmon ceviche with citrus fruits and herbs, scallop carpaccio with samphire, and Burrata and tomatoes prepared in three different ways with homemade pesto. A glass of champagne to go with it. Delicious! We truly enjoyed the flavors and the visual presentation of the dishes. My daughter had the kids' menu. The location is also very nice. We sat outside on the beautiful square. Highly recommended!

25/07/2026: What a delightful surprise this restaurant in Charleville-Mézières was. Tables beautifully set and an excellent and surprising menu, beautifully presented. Accompanying it was a good bottle of wine unknown to us. It was very quiet on the evening we were there. This restaurant deserves good patronage. Hans and Marleen, Amersfoort

25/09/2026: Review ending September 2026. Downgraded by two stars. (Luckily, I'm not a Michelin-starred chef!) The setting is very nice, in the center of Givet near the Meuse River... The service is almost impeccable, as there are better options, and the impression is that you have to eat quickly, whereas we were taking our time. It wasn't packed, so we weren't disrupting the business or the other diners since the seats were half empty. The disaster is the food. Outrageous prices compared to the mediocre quality. We ordered a simple vol-au-vent, and yet the presentation was grandiose, even without Céline Dion singing. The taste and cooking were deplorable. I had the simplest starter at €16 or €17 for two croquettes with Orval cheese or Orval beer... in short, I didn't notice the difference. At that price, it's 200% overrated. House wine and beer remain reasonably priced. One more thing... used to foreigners, even Belgians, we remind you that tap water is customary in France. In short, we drank well, ate poorly, but paid a lot for low-quality food.

28/07/2026: An excellent restaurant in Sedan, ideally located right opposite the castle. We had lunch inside, as the terrace was full, and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is very clean, the service is impeccable, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the lovely bouquet of flowers on each table, as well as the basket of assorted breads—a very nice and original touch. The dishes were delicious and served promptly. A wonderful discovery that we highly recommend. We will gladly return!

26/07/2026: We discovered this restaurant for the first time. Perfect! Very pleasant waitresses. High-quality products, very well cooked and presented. I recommend it.

03/10/2026: Hello, What's going on at Le Cardinal? We usually eat there, and it wasn't great last time. Have you changed chefs? There was an insect in a poached egg, and the chicken in a salad was overcooked… Also, there was a very long wait for the second seating… We even had a gourmet coffee to finish our meal at a nearby establishment. It needs improvement, if I may say so. ☝️

23/09/2026: Restaurant, if you can even call it a restaurant, I'd call it more of a cafeteria. Having a medical condition, I asked if mashed potatoes were available instead of fries. They refused, so I ordered the steak tartare and asked them to remove the capers and ketchup. I received raw meat with an egg on top—essentially, an unprepared tartare. Avoid this place; they have absolutely no consideration for their customers.

10/10/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an absolutely amazing dining experience! We stopped in for dinner and were completely blown away! We ordered the 1.2 kg bone-in rib steak to share, and it was absolutely delicious! The portion was so generous that even between the two of us, we couldn’t finish it and had to take the remaining meat home! 😂 Everything was fantastic, from the food to the drinks. We both left incredibly full, happy, and so impressed with our experience. The restaurant is situated in a charming little French village, making the evening even more special. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. Such a wonderful experience!

04/10/2026: Shameful service. 45 minutes to get a drink. Cold glasses with no ice. And the waiters were awful, never smiling, practically throwing the drinks on the table. Reduce the number of tables or hire more waiters...

10/09/2026: We ordered the salade de chèvre chaud and it was incredible. The service was exceptional and they tried hard to translate into English. Eat here and don't miss out.

01/08/2026: A Belgian tourist was pleasantly surprised, especially since they had halal meat. I highly recommend it; the location and restaurant were clean, and the service was quick. The waiter was very welcoming. We ordered two burgers with sides, and they were very good. I will be back.
