30/07/2024: Very nice surprise on the way to the holidays. A very warm welcome and generous cuisine and varied. The cooled room is a plus during this heatwave period.

18/07/2024: We had a great time. A very friendly and welcoming boss, cook. The server was also very cheerful and attentive. The dishes were very good.

09/07/2024: Decent and plentiful lunch, but nothing more... The restaurant room is really very noisy, difficult to chat in these conditions. Very warm welcome and perfect service. For the same price, you can find much better, there is a little lack of sophistication in the plates, for example the simmered beef is served with fries and rice, not very consistent and dry meat. The grilled piece of beef was hearty and cooked as requested.

25/08/2024: We came here for lunch having checked it out on TripAdvisor where it achieved high rankings. The only downside in my view was that it lacked atmosphere, but I’m sure that was only because it was around 12:30 for lunch, and it seemed to be quiet in Angoulême in mid-August. In any event, we greatly enjoyed our meal. My wife had a delicious burger, while I had an excellent steak tartare, all washed down with an excellent local white wine. Very attentive service by our friendly waiter.

24/08/2024: Cave à manger avec une proposition de bière bienvenue ;) et des plats tout aussi adaptés pour la famille entière. Un accueil et un service chaleureux qui nous a régalé tout autant que la justesse des plats (cuisson, sauce maison) dans un endroit tamisé. Beau travail et belle continuation à toute l’équipe. 14/12/2024: This is the second time we have come to this restaurant. The food is very good and the service is good. The prices are very reasonable and the plates are very generous. I doubt the authenticity of the negative comments that I read before coming.

13/12/2024: I ate with my daughter 2 days ago and it was a pleasant experience. For my part, we took a plancha with prawns, scallops and fish. What a delight and as much as you want. My daughter tasted tartare, beef and duck and this tasting was a nice surprise. To do again.

14/09/2024: Restaurant découvert pour notre passage à Angoulême. Très bonne expérience en famille (5 personnes) ! Le cuisinier fait griller les viandes au feu de bois au coeur du restaurant. Satisfaits à la fois de l'accueil ( très agréables et à l'écoute), des plats ( Burger city et côtelettes d'agneau) et des desserts ( Charlotte aux fraises et moelleux au chocolat, très bons ! ) Bref, toute la famille est ravie. Merci d'avoir fait de notre moment en famille une réussite !

21/07/2024: A slight disappointment with the atmosphere of the restaurant which made us rush a little towards the exit, thus altering our peace of mind during the meal. The dishes offered were generally appreciated, with the exception of the avocado and shrimp maki which presented a lack of texture and an excessively spicy flavor. The price still remains expensive.

24/09/2024: We came for dinner after our Hennessy experience at Hennessy, and there they recomend us this place for dinner. The place is located in a super nice building in front of the local market. The service was exceptional (our waiter said was his first day, but he was super good). The food was exceptional, the music is an interesting option, with rap and a bit more modern music, but in a very good volume and selected with very good taste. And gives a very good ambience to the place. Was really difficult to choose what to eat, everything on the menu looks amazing. About the price we spent 37€ per person for a meal with a starters, mains, dessert and drinks (beers and cocktail). So I think is a very good price. We are going to come back for the lunch, they told us that for lunch they have a “markets menu”. We can only recommend this place on your next visit to Cognac.

22/09/2024: We experienced the Origins restaurant as a family last night and what can we say, just incredible, we had a great evening. Very warm welcome, background music, very pleasant setting 😊 The cocktails and the cuisine reflect the incredible restaurant 🤤 we had a great time, I really recommend this restaurant without hesitation 😊

03/09/2024: I found myself in this place by chance (no more time) A starter buffet with only fresh produce, the main course was generously served and the dessert was very good and fresh. For a price of €17.90 I find that it is worthy of what I ate. Thank you for this meal. I forgot to say that the staff are very welcoming.

15/01/2025: Our first Formule du Marché and it is highly recommended. The service and food was excellent. The steak was the best we have ever been served. The profiterole dessert was the largest one we have ever seen ! We will return.
