18/08/2026: While passing through Angoulême, we stumbled upon this restaurant which was a real treat! Superb food and the menus were more than generous considering the size of the place, it was excellent!

13/05/2026: No complaints, we've been coming once a week for a few months now and it's always just as good.

31/03/2026: Very disappointed. The welcome wasn't warm. The unlimited soup and starters were OK. The five meat dishes to choose from were appreciated, but the problem was that when we arrived early and asked for sirloin steak, we were told they were out. Then, at the till, the owner asked the chef what meat they had left, and he replied, "Silk steak." Moral of the story: a restaurant we'll forget.

21/07/2026: A warm and friendly welcome. Here they advise you on choosing your coffee: whole bean or ground, and the same goes for tea. The staff is attentive to your tastes and gives the best advice. A wide selection and high quality. I highly recommend it. Bruno

28/08/2026: Avoid at all costs. It seems that if you wear a headscarf, you don't have the right to be treated like everyone else.

25/08/2026: A very disappointing experience. The service was catastrophic: things were forgotten, and on top of that, the dishes arrived one after the other (with a VERY LONG delay). As for the food: the burgers were okay, but for the rest, and without exaggerating, we had a terrible pizza (with a crust that was more like salt dough than pizza dough), a truly awful taste... I couldn't even understand how it was possible. The salads were overpriced for ridiculously small portions. The Caesar salad deserves a gold medal at €18 for three pieces of chicken and a kilo of lettuce swimming in a liquid that was clearly a very greasy, industrial dressing. It's easy to see why the city closed the street to cars: it's the only way to trap customers.

13/09/2026: We came to eat at La Distillerie this evening. We were served by Thomas, who was remarkably professional, offered excellent advice, and had a contagious good humor. At the Rooftop, we were served by Isaac and his colleague, who advised and served us with great professionalism and good humor. The cocktails were excellent. Thomas loves Isaac, and the feeling is mutual. If Thomas asks you to pass on his love to Isaac, please do so and enjoy their affection. All joking aside: We had a wonderful evening with a delicious meal and an exceptional setting. Thank you all for the warm welcome!

25/08/2026: We came for lunch during our vacation and what a disappointment! Between the very poor service, with a grumpy blonde waitress and the owner, and the truly awful food—the ribeye steak was practically burnt (they had to clean the griddle even during service...!!), cold fries, and dry, tasteless crepes for dessert—avoid this place. And when you see the owner's responses to all the reviews, it's clearly AI replying for them! I absolutely do not recommend it! Avoid at all costs!

15/06/2026: A pleasant lunch, warm goat cheese as a starter and a ribeye steak with Roquefort cheese as a main course. The setting is lovely, a small square in the middle of the village, under the trees.

23/05/2026: During our visit to the trade fair, we had a meal at Le Bilboquet. The ribeye steak was excellent and the dessert was perfect! A great place to eat in Aigre.

11/08/2026: The food is like freezer food or something from a can. The restrooms and restaurant are filthy. It's more suited to Spanish and Portuguese truck drivers. The staff are friendly and you're served quickly.

04/08/2026: Awful! The website is outdated, the salad bar is tiny, and the cheeses and desserts are so unappetizing they're almost unbearable, especially with the flies swarming around. The food served was questionable and tasteless. The restaurant was filthy, the hygiene was appalling, and the toilets were in a deplorable state. It was a complete rip-off, as I only looked at their website and didn't read the reviews. Run away!!! My grandson said we should call Chef Etchebest 😂 but first, the health department should inspect the place and shut it down!!!

07/08/2026: We came for lunch as a group of six, including two teenagers and our dog, and we had a wonderful time. We received a very warm welcome: the entire team was professional, friendly, and attentive. The menu showcases seasonal and local produce, which is truly evident in every dish. Everything was delicious, with flavorful and well-prepared meals. The value for money is excellent. The lovely view of the Charente River is a real bonus and makes the experience even more enjoyable. A big thank you to the whole team for your hospitality and this delightful culinary experience. We will gladly return!

11/07/2026: I'd love to go there, but unfortunately, someone who works there, who lives below me, is awful to the neighbors and therefore probably to the staff. Even though she's retired, she continues to be awful.
