02/07/2026: A visit to Cognac Blues Passion. Impeccable set menu with unbeatable value for money at €17.90 including coffee. Tomato and burrata tartare, flambéed prawns, semolina, zucchini and peas, mango dessert. Well-prepared, well-served, and lovely waiters.

01/07/2026: Meh, I was craving a croque monsieur, but I got bread and Gruyère cheese. The salad wasn't dressed, and the ham had been opened the day before yesterday. In short, very disappointed.

10/02/2026: We made a detour to Confolans to find a place to eat. We found the cafeteria and we weren't disappointed by the welcome, the food, or the service. I recommend you make the detour to discover this place. I recommend it. Thank you for the welcome.

11/03/2026: The setting is welcoming and the staff are friendly. However, I find it very expensive for two people: €17 for waffles, a flavored hot chocolate, a small flavored coffee, a little whipped cream on the waffles, and chocolate. It's still pricey.

30/06/2026: Great restaurant, very friendly staff, excellent food. My husband had steak tartare and I had a Caesar salad; the chicken was cooked perfectly. My only regret is that this restaurant isn't closer to our home (50 km away) 😅 Thank you so much!

07/05/2026: We ate well, but our reservation had been cancelled... several dishes on the menu were unavailable... the dishes we ordered were good. The service was unpleasant. No apology or explanation for the missing dishes... a shame. The atmosphere isn't what it used to be.

08/06/2026: We had the chance to try the restaurant this evening, and it was simply excellent, from the welcome to the dessert, including the breaded cod prepared perfectly in a fish and chips style! The dishes arrived promptly in a warm and friendly atmosphere! A restaurant we will definitely return to!

05/06/2026: I stopped at this restaurant one weekday evening and easily found a table outside. It was 7:30 pm and the most appealing meat dishes weren't available. Perhaps they hadn't been serving them all day? I ordered a Caesar salad and it wasn't great. Not even good. Some of the lettuce leaves underneath weren't fresh and the chicken wasn't tasty. Very disappointed with this €15 salad. The setting, however, is quite nice. The staff is very friendly. They are English but speak a little French (the bare minimum). It's the only restaurant within a 15km radius!

25/05/2026: Magnificent castle in an idyllic setting. The staff were cordial and smiling, but not at all up to the standards of a 5-star hotel, showing no understanding of the expected professionalism and etiquette for this type of establishment. They lacked discretion, class, and responsiveness. The restaurant food did not live up to the advertised standard (poor quality meat for the price, maggots in the salad). I highly recommend it for the location, the setting, the tranquility, and the choice of materials. However, I strongly advise the staff to reconsider the quality of their services.

25/05/2026: The hotel is magnificent in appearance, but unfortunately, the level of service falls far short of its advertised 5-star rating. The setting is certainly pleasant and exceptional, and the staff are agreeable, but luxury and prestige cannot be fabricated: they imply a genuine commitment to quality and, above all, an obligation to deliver results for the guests. The service proved deplorable on several levels (plastic cups, maggots in the restaurant salad, a rib-eye steak that left much to be desired despite the region's abundance and quality, and many other issues), with a clear lack of attentiveness, responsiveness, and professionalism that absolutely does not meet the standards expected of an establishment in this category. At this price point and with such a prestigious image, the customer experience should be impeccable. Today, luxury is more about appearance than reality.

01/05/2026: We first went to Duguesclin about fifteen years ago; it was a good restaurant, good value for money. About six or seven years ago, we were very disappointed. The quality had dropped significantly: the salmon pasta was far too salty and inedible, and the pasta had a watery tomato sauce that was incredibly bland. That convinced us never to go back. Recently, we decided to give the restaurant another chance, perhaps out of a touch of nostalgia... We received a poor welcome; a smile seemed to be optional, just a curt "I'll be right back." We had time to watch this person walk past us three times without even acknowledging us. We ended up leaving to eat elsewhere. It's such a shame what this restaurant has become.

21/06/2026: We tried the restaurant on a Friday evening as a family. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming, the cocktails were original, the grilled octopus was excellent, the bagel and chicken burger were very good, and there were plenty of other dishes to try...

15/06/2026: First experience that will definitely be back! Excellent welcome despite our late arrival (2 pm), drinks served very quickly. The starter was generous and truly delicious. The same goes for the main course: tender and flavorful meat cooked exactly as requested, and excellent homemade fries. It's a shame we were pressed for time and didn't have dessert. We'll have to come back. Thank you, Angélique, and your team; you can be proud of what you offer. Second visit on June 15th. The Very Good Table was truly top-notch. Fresh and delicious salads 😋 and the profiterole brioche was a real treat. Thank you 😉 to the whole team.

12/06/2026: The parking lot is large and spacious, but the lot needs minor renovations. Showers cost €2.50 in a special machine (card or cash). The downsides include a lack of lighting in most of the parking lot, and payment is by credit card or Telepass. Overall, a solid 7/10. It's better to park here than in the bushes without a toilet, running water, or a shower. Overall, I recommend it.

26/05/2026: Large parking lot. There is a good kercher car wash. But that's where it ends. For 38 hours of parking I paid 36€ (I don't for what). The restaurant didn't impress with its menu selection. Toilets and showers are old, everything is closed at night. everywhere smells of urine.

18/07/2026: An excellent restaurant that I always enjoy returning to! In winter, we feast on delicious, comforting cheese-based dishes, while in summer, the lovely terrace offers fresh, seasonal dishes perfectly suited to sunny days. The menu is varied and generous, so everyone can easily find something they like. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and family-oriented, making every meal particularly enjoyable. A real highlight deserves to be emphasized: the quality of the service. A bottle of chilled water is brought as soon as we are seated and replaced before it's even empty, the glass of wine is poured before the main course arrives (which is becoming quite rare and worth noting), and bread is offered spontaneously. These small touches demonstrate true professionalism and a team attentive to its customers (a special thank you to Karen). Thank you to the entire team for this place where we love to gather, both for the quality of the food and the consistently pleasant atmosphere.

18/07/2026: Very pleasant service and attentive staff, no waiting. The food offered a wide and tempting selection; we ordered two rib-eye steaks for €26, it's a shame they were so small – the photo in the comment below made them look very appealing – and they arrived medium-rare instead of rare. The pork pluma and salmon carpaccio were very good; perhaps the scallop risotto could have used a little more garnish? The wine was very good. Thank you for the evening.

02/07/2026: I spent a few evenings at this restaurant, as part of a multi-course meal plan. The food is very good, the staff is super friendly, I recommend it.
