23/01/2025: We have just experienced a lunar situation. This had never happened to me in my life in a bar. We stay in the bar for 30 minutes while having two drinks. One of the waiters comes to serve us a cheese board that we hadn't ordered. We thank him warmly for this. After all, a cute puppy had just gone to the bathroom next to our table and was eating his feces to clean up. Thank you for the smell. We then naively thought that this gesture was linked to this astonishing situation. After several minutes, his colleague told him that the board was not for us and told us that we should not have consumed it. We are a little stunned and decide to leave. The waiter asks us to pay for the board and we refuse. He tells us to leave with our good conscience. Thank you and forever.

10/12/2024: De passage à Angoulême, sans connaissance de la ville, nous sommes arrivés devant ce restaurant ; ne pas se fier à la devanture ; il faut entrer et découvrir ; l'accueil est chaleureux ; le service est soigné, la présentation des plats est idéale ; la cuisine est délicate, raffinée ; c'est un restaurant de très bon niveau.

05/12/2024: Nous y allons au moins 1 fois par mois et les plats sont toujours excellents. L'accueil et le service sont parfaits. Dernièrement nous avons goûté les truffes en chocolat. Un délice.

24/07/2024: dans un cadre agréable en plein centre ville de Cognac, une carte comportant peu de proposition ce qui est parfait, un service impeccable un personnel aux petits soins ...donc je m'attendais à un bon diner ! mais quelle déception, le poisson (du bar ce jour là n'avait aucun gout ),le baba au cognac ( une petite pipette de Cognac , fait sourire dans la région productrice), un bon point pour la glace excellente ( fournie par le meilleur ouvrier de France).

19/09/2024: Table réservée pour 16 personnes pour le déjeuner du circuit des remparts le dimanche 15 septembre, pas de problème, mais surtout venez à midi! Service de l’apéro un peu long mais ok. On nous prévient que l’on ne prend pas nos commandes repas car les cuisiniers sont débordés..... Et un moment après, on nous informe qu’ils nous offrent l’apéro et ne peuvent pas nous servir le repas!!! Ce n’est pas du tout correct, nous avons heureusement trouvé un établissement qui nous a servi mais, certains devaient partir en voiture à 14h et ne sont partis qu’à 15h et les autres ont raté tout le début des courses ! Il faut réfléchir avant de prendre des réservations messieurs!!!

06/09/2024: soirée entre filles pour boire un verre avec des tapas. très bien accueillies, service nickel. nous commandons differents tapas pour mixier. des gyozas aux légumes arrivent, sur lequel un filet de balsamique est déposé. je fais la remarque que je n'en mangerais pas n'aimant pas ça. et bien 10 minustes après j'ai vu apparaitre un plat sans vinaigre!! c'est ce que j'apelle prendre soin de ses clients, nous aons vraiment apprécié. et en plus ils étaient excellents ces gyozas!!! nous reviendrons avec plaisir!

15/08/2024: Restaurant routier simple, de qualité, efficace et bon avec un excellent rapport qualité /prix Que demander de plus ? Un service rapide, mais sans stress, des serveurs et serveuses agréables, un parking facile. N’hésitez pas à couper votre voyage en y faisant une halte, vous ne serez pas déçus.

19/08/2024: One Sunday lunchtime in August, we stopped at Le Coq d'Or which is well rated on Google. We are with our 2 daughters on the terrace who behave well. The food is ok nothing more. I take my daughters to the bathroom and in the meantime, the waiter offers my husband a coffee and says "you must need it with all these girls". I find it sexist and unwelcome, especially since the children behaved very well at the table.

We were served by Olivier who amazed our meal with his kindness, his attention and his understanding while waiting and demanding the quality of service that we expected, the dishes were very good. We didn't set out to eat at the basic Léon de Bruxelles because we are from Bordeaux and we usually eat Léon de Bruxelles, in Pessac, and lately. We were very disappointed by the quality of the cuisine, thanks to the Chefs at Léon de Bruxelles, Angoulême and Olivier's service. We have really changed our opinion and our opinion, and we will happily come back to eat in this restaurant. Even if it means traveling to Bordeaux Angoulême to be properly and attentively served. 24/01/2025: Disappointing experience. There were three of us on the terrace, ready to eat, except one of my daughters who was not thirsty. We were refused service because “a place was occupied without consumption”. An incomprehensible and very uncommercial attitude, especially when the terrace was not full. This kind of behavior doesn't make you want to come back, and that's a shame. Very unfriendly service

09/09/2024: Expensive ! For parking and one dinner or lunch you have to pay 20 euros... Sliced ​​meats, salads, snacks are of very mediocre quality... Hot food (second) is also average... Beef steak is unbreakable: stimorol + car tire... Breaded fish - a reheated creation prepared food from the supermarket... Only one dessert is allowed, and it’s small.., There are no mustard drinks on the menu.. Neither tea nor coffee... Apparently intended for a decanter of wine (about 250-300 ml..) After wine I really want to sleep (diphenhydramine)) it seems... Wine light (pink!!, I haven’t tried red..) but also of average quality, slightly yeasty... You can only go to the shower once... The toilet works by the hour (not 24 hours a day)... On Monday it didn’t work at all (need or shitting in the bushes or moving (!!) to a free (!!) parking lot is nonsense! In general, a parking lot for boogers...
