18/08/2024: Congratulations to the new relay team at Château de Chalais. We really enjoyed ourselves this Sunday lunchtime, refined and original dishes from starter to dessert, a good wine recommended by the charming manager. A special note for the two-chocolate millefeuille with its ice cream accompanied by a parcel of parsley! Very original and delicious 😋 It’s really an address that I recommend to everyone and where we will return with pleasure.

25/07/2024: During my visit to this worker's restaurant, I opted for the single menu at 13€. I have to say I was slightly disappointed. The small salad as a starter was OK, but the fries were undercooked. However, I must admit that the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with a classic and friendly atmosphere. It was also a meeting place for local workers, which added a little charm to the place. Despite a few small flaws, I'm sure this restaurant will please some with its affordable menu and warm atmosphere. Recommended for those looking for a simple and unpretentious meal.

25/06/2024: While passing through Angoulême, I came one afternoon following Google's advice. We didn't have a reservation but we were still lucky enough to get a table. And fortunately because the restaurant filled up incredibly quickly. Homemade dishes, fast service, a very fair price, I understand the craze. Well done.

We were served by Olivier who amazed our meal with his kindness, his attention and his understanding while waiting and demanding the quality of service that we expected, the dishes were very good. We didn't set out to eat at the basic Léon de Bruxelles because we are from Bordeaux and we usually eat Léon de Bruxelles, in Pessac, and lately. We were very disappointed by the quality of the cuisine, thanks to the Chefs at Léon de Bruxelles, Angoulême and Olivier's service. We have really changed our opinion and our opinion, and we will happily come back to eat in this restaurant. Even if it means traveling to Bordeaux Angoulême to be properly and attentively served. 11/08/2024: Positive: - the setting, quite simply with a beautiful, refined and tastefully decorated decoration. We feel when we see everything is going well that we are going to toast the bill 😂 - the staff, frankly very friendly and helpful (a lady with short hair and an Italian type lady). Always a plus for the restaurant! - the dishes and the presentation of the plates Negative: - frankly, the big downside was having canned peas/carrots in one of our dishes 🫤 Given the price we paid (more than 160 euros with a dish to share, 4 aperitifs and 4 main courses), I was expecting something other than canned goods for this vegetable. And even if the boss or boss tells me no based on my opinion, I would say again and maintain that it was a can. Just disappointed with this choice even though the restaurant calls itself bistronomic. For the rest, nothing to report, everything was really good. Good luck to the whole team.

08/06/2024: Having arrived completely by chance in this small restaurant of Scandinavian specialties, we highly recommend the place!! Everything was excellent, fresh and perfectly presented and prepared. Professional and very, very pleasant service staff. We really had a blast! Perfect fish cooking with great little green asparagus! Homemade marinated salmon toast, super good and fresh!! Beef toast on a bed of eggs..👍 And...a dessert...red fruit crumble to die for!!! Thank you for this relaxing and delicious break. Well done to everyone and special mention to the cooks who often remain in the shadows of their stoves. All the best for the future!! Beef steak is unbreakable: stimorol + car tire... Breaded fish - a reheated creation prepared food from the supermarket... Only one dessert is allowed, and it’s small.., There are no mustard drinks on the menu.. Neither tea nor coffee... Apparently intended for a decanter of wine (about 250-300 ml..) After wine I really want to sleep (diphenhydramine)) it seems... Wine light (pink!!, I haven’t tried red..) but also of average quality, slightly yeasty... You can only go to the shower once... The toilet works by the hour (not 24 hours a day)... On Monday it didn’t work at all (need or shitting in the bushes or moving (!!) to a free (!!) parking lot is nonsense! In general, a parking lot for boogers...

16/09/2024: Quelle déception lors de cette soirée entre amis qui n’avait pourtant pas trop mal commencée, jusqu’à l’arrivée du plat principal qui n’avait ni l’aspect, ni la saveur et encore moins la qualité de la viande qui pour plusieurs d’entre nous était immangeable. Ce constat a d’ailleurs fait l’objet d’une remarque auprès de la serveuse, manifestement pas vraiment concernée. De plus attente interminable pour le vin compris dans le menu, qu’il a fallu réclamer à plusieurs reprises, pour que l’on soit enfin servis quasiment à l’arrivée du dessert. Pour terminer, nous avions des glaces qui pour certains d’entre nous, se sont transformées en véritables glaçons. Bref un repas nullement à la hauteur de nos espérances et surtout cher au regard de la prestation. Aucune considération du gérant, trop occupé à faire le show avec le musicien qui animait cette soirée de clôture Une nouvelle expérience ne semble pas prévue.
