19/02/2026: Visiting the region from Belgium for work, we had the pleasure of discovering La Simplicité in Nevers, and it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the warmth and kindness of the staff. The service was professional, attentive, and friendly, creating a welcoming and authentic atmosphere. The cuisine is simply remarkable. The dishes are prepared with great finesse, showcasing fresh, local produce. Each plate offers a beautiful balance of flavors, elegant presentation, and a creativity that reflects true culinary expertise. We particularly appreciated the perfect cooking and the generous portions. The restaurant's ambiance further enhances the experience: elegant, soothing, and perfectly suited for a relaxed meal or a business lunch. In short, La Simplicité lives up to its name: sincere cuisine, impeccable service, and a warm atmosphere. We highly recommend this place to anyone passing through Nevers — whether for business or pleasure. We will definitely return!

31/01/2026: To put it simply, we loved everything! I personally really enjoyed the starter of black pudding, apples, and sliced ​​scallops—original and delicious. The owner does almost everything: reception, taking orders, serving, handling the cash register, clearing the table—but despite this, we didn't have to wait long, even though we were seated at a large table of 12 and other smaller tables. I highly recommend this restaurant.

09/12/2025: Discovered the restaurant during an overnight stay. The soft-boiled eggs were excellent. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, with perfectly cooked vegetables and a subtly flavorful sauce. The service was quick and very professional. In short, a wonderful experience.

30/01/2026: A wonderful discovery! The restaurant is truly located in the middle of nowhere, in the forest. The welcome was perfect, the waitress was smiling, and the restaurant was already quite full. We all ordered the €43 weekend set menu. A small amuse-bouche to whet our appetites, light and delicious. The starter, the crab shortbread with salmon gravlax, was a real treat for the eyes and the taste buds. The avocado was slightly tangy, and the crab made it all sublime. The scallops were pan-seared to perfection. The polenta fries are a bit of a treat, but with the shellfish sauce, they're palatable. The tournedos was cooked to perfection, accompanied by potatoes and wild mushrooms—simply divine. The sweet touch to finish was the mango pavlova; it was light and delicate, just right. There was also a wide selection of cheeses. The decor is quite classic, in a guesthouse style.

22/01/2026: Fourth visit, and while they've changed the menu, everything else has changed too, and not for the better. Order a charcuterie item from the menu, and you get three slices of andouille sausage and three of salami. The sauerkraut on the menu is a disaster: cabbage with bacon, two sausages, and one potato (not very regional at all). As for the bread on the menu, it's simply leftover unfinished rolls from the regular menu. And the restrooms at the end of service are as clean as the dining room.

15/02/2026: The dishes were delicious and generous. I was disappointed by my crème brûlée, which came straight from the fridge; the caramelized sugar, which should have been crunchy, wasn't. Regarding the wine service by the glass, while you're supposed to bring the bottle to fill the glass, it arrived already filled. You just have to trust them... We were disappointed by our aperitif, which was called a spritz but had nothing to do with the Italian aperitif. There was nothing to nibble on with it, except for two measly pieces of crepe to share, served at the end of our meal! No tablecloth or placemat, just two place settings with a paper napkin. For the price, we expected better.

A restaurant not to be missed under any circumstances... I look forward to returning very soon.

04/01/2026: Okay, sorry, but I'm going to give it two stars. The first star because you can't start from scratch, and the second, which is the only good point, is that they at least said hello. After that notable event, it was like stepping into another dimension. The atmosphere was quite austere, a bit "uncomfortable" in this bar/restaurant. We were there, but we didn't exist! We waited patiently standing to order, but no one bothered to acknowledge us or even glance at us, for what seemed like an eternity. So we turned around and left. Perhaps our faces didn't deserve to boost their profits. We resigned ourselves to it, feeling ignored. Well, I don't blame them, it's just a shame to be in business when you clearly don't understand the basics. And maybe they simply don't need customers; besides, it didn't look like there was a rush of people coming in for a Saturday night. So we went to Lord's, and it was honestly great. I'd give them a solid 5/5 for their hospitality and service; they clearly know how to treat their customers. You should take note.

21/12/2025: Dining at Jean Michel Couron's restaurant is an experience not to be missed. The dishes are exquisitely refined, the pairings of spices and wine are perfectly balanced. We go there every year for our anniversary and we are never disappointed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the decor chic and elegant without being obsequious. A must-try.

16/12/2025: A fantastic meal, from the food to the atmosphere and the service! The owner is lovely and very attentive, and the meal was delicious. There were several vegetarians at our table, and modifications to our dishes were immediately offered (and it wasn't just a matter of removing the meat from an existing dish). The place is intimate and welcoming; in short, a highly recommended spot in Nevers!
