28/04/2026: We discovered this restaurant thanks to Google reviews and we weren't disappointed. We opted for the €49 set menu on a Tuesday evening; be aware that reservations are essential.
The flavors were spot on. The sea bass fillet was superb, served with parsnip purée, herbs, and herb oil—a well-thought-out and balanced combination. A glass of wine ranged from €9 to €13.
The service was attentive.
The setting under a glass roof is chic but not stuffy, with a decor full of originality—kudos!
A restaurant true to its modern and creative cuisine. Don't hesitate to stop by; the value for money is excellent.

30/08/2024: Cet avis concerne le Chaplin sur 2 prestations différentes, le restaurant et le service traiteur.
Concernant le restaurant, on y trouve un menu unique composé de 2 entrées, 2 plats et 2 desserts plus une sélection sympa de viandes à la carte. Tout est très travaillé, les produits sont bons et la présentation est très belle, ce qui forcément donne envie. Le couple de gérants tout comme les serveuses sont très sympa, il y toujours un petit mot, une attention qui fait qu'on s'y sent bien !
D'un point de vu tarif, le menu est à 16.50€ difficile de faire mieux pour un repas de cette qualité ! D'autant plus que les quantités sont là !
Le traiteur : nous avons fait appel à leurs services pour nos 10 ans de mariage, je peux chercher dans tous les sens, tout était PARFAIT ! Le vin d'honneur excellent avec des quantités astronomiques, le repas était savoureux, et le dessert une merveille ! L'équipe a été aux petits soins pour nous pendant toute la soirée. Les invités étaient conquis et nous aussi bien entendu !

25/06/2026: It really wasn't to my liking... because when I went there were many foreign homeless people, the establishment was unclean and the service was very slow, and for all these reasons I left the place.
24/06/2026: Boulangerie Pâtisserie Dardonville is exactly the kind of small French bakery that makes Fontainebleau feel quietly special. It is not flashy or over-designed, but the quality comes through in the basics: good bread, proper viennoiserie, and pastries that feel classic rather than gimmicky. The croissant and pain au chocolat are the obvious starting points — flaky, buttery, light, and very easy to eat with a coffee before walking around town or heading to the château.
What stood out to me is that Dardonville feels like a real neighbourhood bakery rather than a tourist stop. The baguettes are well regarded, but the sweeter items are worth looking at too, especially the tarte aux poires, éclairs, macarons, and canelés. It is the sort of place where you can buy one thing, then immediately regret not buying two or three more. Simple, affordable, very French, and a strong Fontainebleau stop if you like bakeries more than generic cafés.
