08/07/2025: This only applies to the bistro, not the restaurant. The cafe has very dirty restrooms, smells of urine, a dirty sink, and most importantly, I had a drink in a glass with food scraps stuck to it. It wasn't limescale. A tourist spot like Cordes-sur-Ciel deserves a bistro that lives up to this place's reputation.

08/07/2025: Only concerns the bistro, not the restaurant. The cleanliness of the glasses leaves something to be desired. As for the toilet area, I don't think it's cleaned often. Black deposit all around and at the bottom of the bowl. Sink is the same. Too bad the hygiene service doesn't come. Smells of urine. Move on by.

07/03/2026: I recently visited Le Grand Balcon in Mazamet and wanted to leave a review to congratulate the new owners who took over at the beginning of March. Frankly, they're doing an excellent job! The welcome is warm, the service is attentive, and you can tell they genuinely want to do things right. The food is simply excellent: well-prepared, flavorful dishes, made with care. You can taste the difference, and to be honest, it's clearly a step up from the previous owners. It's a fantastic new venture and a place I wholeheartedly recommend. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!

05/03/2026: On Wednesday evening, we had the chance to discover the new menu. A new beginning for this iconic Mazamet establishment, now under the ownership of a family with strong values, for whom elevating local ingredients to the delight of our palates is a true mission... So I would say mission accomplished! The welcome, the atmosphere, and the dishes were all simply perfect. If you're looking for a place for a bistronomic experience or a premium brasserie experience... then Le Grand Balcon is the place for you. We'll be back again and again!

21/02/2026: This hotel is really cool. The self-service piano in the entrance is a real treat. Géraldine gave us a very warm welcome; thank you for your good humor and professionalism. ++

26/12/2025: This was a real saga! Thanks to Tempete Benjamin we were stranded at Albi station. After 2 hours, our promised train was cancelled. We had to get off. No alternative! As we got off, all of the passengers were hit by an epic downpour. There were about 300 wet people crammed into the waiting room. I had to act quickly. Standing outside in the rain I used my phone to book a couple of rooms in the hotel across the road. We were there 2 minutes later, a couple of drowned rats! We got our keys within a minute. Now that's a good welcome! An hour later we were sipping Kir Royales in the bar. The restaurant was excellent!

24/05/2025: Slow service. Average dishes. The soft dessert was extremely dry with only four strawberries and a little whipped cream... Not at all what one would expect from this type of restaurant. Very disappointing...

03/12/2025: I came to pick up some pastries on Monday morning. I was greeted by an extremely unpleasant young woman... The bakery offers pastries "with sugar" or "without sugar," I asked for "with sugar" and saw that she was giving me "without sugar" ones... I repeated that I wanted them "with sugar" and she rolled her eyes and sighed deeply, explaining that the sugar was in them anyway... She even went back to the kitchen for a few seconds to complain to a colleague... I have a job where I have to work 8 hours a day, so please, is it possible in the future to avoid working overtime first thing in the morning at your bakery? Because I come regularly and I appreciate your products (pastries and even sometimes sandwiches), it's a shame to maintain this negative image... I think this person, given their very young age, should reflect on their future and the choice of whether or not to be involved in customer relations.

09/11/2025: Convenient access and parking in front and on the side are great. They have pastries and a lunch menu. The lunch special is uninteresting in my opinion. You can eat in or take away. However, the prices are a bit high.

07/09/2025: The boss blows in front of us, preferring to sweep rather than serve us.

04/12/2025: Very nice cafe, but very expensive, avoid it. Hygiene leaves much to be desired; the same cloth is used to clean the tables, the bar, and the coffee machine, especially the nozzle used to make cream or heat milk... (the cloth wasn't rinsed).

31/12/2025: Room. Strange smell. Noise from the refrigerator compressors all night, terrible breakfast. No bread or brioche, the staff's response was, "That's just how it is," in a... [unclear] tone. I don't recommend it. However, the food was excellent.

16/02/2026: Thank you for the very warm welcome! We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday. The meal was excellent, all homemade, with a special mention for the smoked salmon and scallop purse which was a hit with everyone! A truly excellent place. I highly recommend it.
