28/10/2025: Excellent restaurant, great welcome and service. The service was superb. The restrooms were spotless. We had a delicious meal for a very reasonable price, with high-quality ingredients. A wonderful surprise during our visit to Monestiés.

15/10/2025: We stopped by on Wednesday, October 14th at noon for the daily special and dessert... by 12:30 pm the daily special was gone... instead, we had frozen, dry pollock with defrosted vegetable gratin, and to top it all off, the dessert was a speculoos cream éclair... the éclair was disgusting and very dry (it was a bagged cake and not good) and the cream was just so-so... basically, avoid this place... it's not real food 😭.

02/06/2026: The two cyclists from Grenoble dined there twice in a row and everything was perfect: a very warm welcome from the waitress and the owner, a delicious meal, and top-notch service. We recharged our batteries for cycling tomorrow.

29/05/2026: Excellent restaurant. Impeccable welcome, top-notch service, and they really took care of us. Our water carafe was changed because it was very hot, even though we hadn't asked for it. Well done and thank you. We were kept cool by misting fans during our meal, which was a very nice touch.

15/05/2026: The restaurant is well located, and the staff are friendly but not very professional. The dishes arrived cold and were very sparsely filled. €18 for nine gnocchi is expensive for cold gnocchi. Furthermore, we weren't even given any bread to accompany our meals.

15/05/2026: Disappointing. Service was a bit slow. The main course was chorizo ​​sausages; the meat was undercooked, making it inedible, and the side dish was the same: raw green beans and boiled potatoes of poor quality, mealy and almost raw inside. This restaurant won't leave a lasting impression, and I confess I don't understand the good reviews, unless it was just a stroke of bad luck. The starter and dessert were average. The set menu price was reasonable.

29/03/2026: A huge thank you to Arnaud, the golf director, and his entire team (Hugues, etc.), to Jonathan, manager of the restaurant L’Assiette à Par, and his whole team for their hospitality during our USCF Atlantic Challenge held at the Albi - Château de Lasbordes golf course. All the participants were delighted by the quality of the course, the quality of the food, and also by the kindness of the entire team. 27/05/2026: Overpriced, mediocre overall. In short, €108.50. I got 3 pizzas, a half-liter of wine, 2 "gourmet" coffees made from leftovers, a sickening tiramisu, a pint of beer, and two non-alcoholic cocktails. No peanuts and a rushed delivery for the meal. Oh well, too bad, we won't be back. And the €10 pizzas on Tuesdays? Forget it, we'll go to Tutti Pizza; they have real flavor. Pito, come back.

13/05/2026: We hadn't been there for years, even though we live only a few kilometers away. It changed owners, I don't remember exactly when. The staff were very friendly... we all had the €29 set menu, which was very good and generous! We'll be back 😉

15/11/2025: We had a wonderful meal (the four of us), but the service was very average. Our tables weren't cleaned before we were seated. Tables were covered in dust, and glasses were upside down on them... not great. The waitress and waiter lacked professionalism. Their interactions with us were not very friendly. It's a shame because the setting is superb, and lunch on the terrace was very pleasant.

06/04/2026: A must-visit in Mazamet! Le Grand Balcon is simply a wonderful discovery. The welcome is impeccable: a warm, smiling, and genuinely kind team, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, it's flawless. The dishes are flavorful, beautifully presented, and prepared with great care. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the effort behind each plate. Perfect for both a special occasion and a simple moment of pleasure, especially with prices that remain very reasonable for the level of quality offered. A truly wonderful experience that I wholeheartedly recommend—I'll be back very soon!

09/05/2026: Very friendly staff, superb setting overlooking Lac des Montagnès. We went one evening and enjoyed a beautiful sunset through the restaurant window. The dishes matched our order.

01/05/2026: Vegetarian food? I carefully chose this restaurant with vegetarian options to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The lady at reception was lovely and very welcoming, the view is fabulous, although there was a bit of rain, it didn't spoil a great spot. When seated, the lady pointed out on the menu all the fish options. A true vegetarian does not eat fish. So she kindly offered a Vegetarian burger as my main and a green salad with goats cheese as a starter. I really liked the salad, the burger was a vegetable galette, with a slice of cheese on top. The chips were delicious. My husband had a lovely starter of a lardon cream, with jambon and a poached egg. His main was a sole with risotto and a sauce. Both our desserts were delicious 😋 If as a vegetarian you go to this restaurant, please be aware you will be offered fish! Staff very willing to please, but with a limited choice for vegetarians. So suggest the restaurant doesn't advertise vegetarian options as they are very limited.

18/05/2026: A good place for a brasserie. It was good, apart from a hint of lavender or something else in the pea puree. That was the only flaw.

05/05/2026: Be careful, check your bills, they're not very accurate! Starter & Main Course of the Day: "Calf's Head with Gribiche Sauce" or "Main Course of the Day & Dessert of the Day: Pavlova with Red Berries." The menu advertises a single price for both options, but when you pay at the register, you're charged €13 for the main course and €6.50 for the dessert. The math doesn't add up; it's not what was advertised! Avoid this place! It's a rip-off!

04/05/2026: I come every month and it was very good until now, but for the last two months I've noticed a significant drop in the quality of the meat—more fat and tough pieces. And the price increase makes it less appealing: €9 for a meal (small fries, minimal sauce), €6.50 just for a sandwich. It's a shame, I used to love this kebab.
