14/08/2026: A quick stop during our vacation. Very nice and the food was good. We'll be back 😉. A little message for the gentleman who didn't understand that the entrance door, decorated with a small gate, is pushed open to enter the restaurant. And that the sign with the opening hours is quite lovely. Let's respect the hard work of our last remaining independent restaurateurs. 😊

10/08/2026: Catastrophic experience!!! It's a shame I can't give zero stars. Staying at the Ibis hotel, we had dinner this Saturday evening for two to celebrate one of our birthdays. We ordered aperitifs (a pastis and a kir), a rib-eye steak with two glasses of wine to accompany it, and a half-bottle of sparkling water. The waitress brought us the rib-eye steaks, which were black (being the daughter of a traditional butcher, I have serious doubts about the quality of said steak). I asked her where our aperitifs were; she said she had forgotten them and immediately went back to the kitchen, bringing them back to us five minutes later. We asked her if she really thought a pastis was appropriate with a ribeye steak (unless you downed it in one gulp to keep the steak from getting cold). She got annoyed, claiming she was doing everything herself and couldn't possibly think of everything. We refused the pastis and kept the kir, which we shared. We went to complain directly to a waiter at the bar who said he would look into it, but NO ONE came to our table again, and we never saw the two glasses of wine we ordered. Faced with such incompetence, we decided to cut our meal short, skipping dessert and coffee, and asked for the bill. We were glad we checked it before paying because we were charged for the pastis and the two glasses of wine. The nerve! We asked if it was a joke, the bill was corrected, and the kir and half-pint of sparkling water were offered (which seemed like the bare minimum). We left the restaurant, met with complete indifference from all the staff and without an apology, at least from me. Only our neighbors at the next table were outraged. A disastrous birthday evening, thankfully salvaged by the charming Maëlys from Ibis, with whom we had a very pleasant chat. Thank you, Maëlys. Obviously, we are not thanking Courtepaille for this ruined evening. We could have accepted everything if a manager had come to our table and offered a solution, but that didn't happen. The staff needs to be reviewed or trained. Thank you for your response. I am also surprised because we immediately spoke to two servers. One of them said he would speak with a manager and come back to see us, but apparently neither of them did so right away, since neither of them returned, and we had the unpleasant feeling of bothering you. And no, my partner did receive an apology, but I did not. In this case, it is only right that all affected customers receive an apology. Thank you for your gesture of goodwill, which, once again, seems to me to be the very least you could do. Please review this with your team.

16/07/2026: Utensils (knife not washed), thankfully the young woman in charge of the grill greeted me with great embarrassment. Service without bread or salad. When I returned to pay, I found my waiter completely unashamed, claiming it wasn't his fault. Furthermore, I had no right to express my dissatisfaction. This restaurant is absolutely to be avoided. I intend to report it to the hygiene department as soon as I return to Paris. I hope I'm not sick tomorrow. Zero stars.

01/08/2026: 2026 Holiday Departure: We stopped by completely by chance, and we liked the place; the service was quick and professional. The dishes were delicious and generous. We recommend this establishment, and if you're going on holiday, don't hesitate to stop by—it's worth the detour (Langres Sud, 10 minutes away). 😉😉👍👍

21/07/2026: We stopped for a quick family lunch at this brasserie and weren't disappointed at all. The meal was good value for money (the portions were generous), and the welcome and service were impeccable. The only slight downside was the noise. In short, we had a great time 👍🏼

09/08/2026: We had reserved a table for 2 adults and 1 child for 7:15 pm. No aperitif, just a main course. On the plus side, the food was very good. On the negative side, the wait was far too long; we left at 8:45 pm without having had dessert. After mentioning this when paying, we received no apology.

06/08/2026: I highly recommend it! The set menu (salad, filet mignon/fries, apple pie) was perfect and very reasonably priced. The portions were generous. Special mention for the excellent service (friendly and quick for our large table) ☺️ Thank you!

04/06/2026: Very, very disappointed with this restaurant. The aperitif and hors d'oeuvres were well served. However, we waited an hour for the main course (and the meat was swimming in oil), which was unappetizing. Regarding the wait, the waiter criticized us for having ordered an hors d'oeuvre, claiming that those ordering the main course should have priority. For us, that was it.

16/08/2026: Even though I alerted the manager by showing him the photos this morning, August 16th, there was already a small problem with the keys; we didn't have the right ones to get into the hotel, and unfortunately, there were a lot of cobwebs in our room, N2. Spider-Man must have been here. He did, however, make a gesture, which I found very kind. Thank you, sir, and sorry about your cleaning lady.

03/05/2026: The way there A beautiful drive along the local roads to the village of Auberive. From the highway, you very quickly enter a peaceful area where time seems to stand still, with a beautiful rolling landscape. It is about a 14km drive after leaving the highway. The village of Auberive It is a very small village (approximately 250 inhabitants) that feels very old and charming. Don't expect restaurants or cafes, but rather peace, local people, and a church. It is very small and rustic. Don't expect anyone speaking English with you here 😀. The Auberge Auberge de l'Abbatiale is a historic hotel situated in a 12th-century building in the village of Auberive, located next to the Abbey of Auberive. It is open to visitors, but check the season and opening hours. The Auberge has 5 rooms. We had the family room. It has 2 floors. The room is simple and equipped with air conditioning. The shower and toilet are very basic, but you will survive. The beds are small doubles (140 cm wide) and firmly sprung. There is an outdoor area with a plastic patio table for 2 people. The prices are steep, but you do sleep in unique and quiet accommodation. The family has paid a lot of attention to detail in the renovation of the hotel/chambres d’hôtes. Dining at Auberge They provide lunch and dinner depending on the season. It is also accessible to non-hotel guests. Dinner is served in a monumental room with classic fireplaces that also serve partly as stoves (for preparing the Bœuf Bourguignon). It is very atmospherically decorated, and you immediately feel transported to the Middle Ages. For 45 Euros, you get a 3-course menu. A more than reasonable price for the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service. The host is very friendly and speaks excellent English. They have a wine list with a few very fine wines. More than enough choice, and a glass of wine is also available for 6 euros. So you can go as wild as you like. Walking routes There are many walking routes, and these are marked in the village and along the route using a combination of two colors. A lovely way to enjoy the beautiful nature and silence. Charging There are two 11kW charging stations in the village car park (a 3-4m walk from the hotel). We were able to use our Travelcard here. Hold your card in front of the sensor, open the cabinet on the side, and connect the cable. That is all. Don't forget to close the cabinet afterwards.

10/08/2026: We ordered three pizzas to take away. The crust was very good, thin, and the pizza was generous. We saw the restaurant; it's very cozy. The welcome was warm. I recommend this pizzeria.

23/05/2026: We went there for a meal. We hadn't heard of this place before, but what a pleasant surprise! The dishes were beautifully presented and expertly prepared. The setting was charming. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend it.
