08/02/2026: It's only open for residents and usually noone there.
06/01/2026: We are regulars here as perfect sleep over prior to early morning flight with direct access via a covered walkway to T4. Service excellent and rooms always pristine.

The Stone Bar
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
19/09/2025: Frankly the worst attitude I have ever seen from a waitress. We sat down waiting for her to take our order (or greet us) and she saw us from the bar and yelled: “Yes?” like it’s my job to take her order, not the other way around. I understand that sometimes you have to order at the bar, but a “Hello, please order inside” won’t hurt anyone. I can’t say anything about the food or drinks in there because we obviously left after this encounter. Too bad, getting paid to act like this is really embarrassing.
09/09/2025: We loved our dinner at Le Stone while hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc. The pizza and salad was excellent! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Eden Restaurant
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
10/04/2026: We had some very unpleasant surprises upon arrival. We rented a studio for three people, and when we got to the key box, there were no keys.
It was 11 p.m., and we had to call the manager about ten times before getting an answer. The person finally arrived with a key and told us that the other one must have been stolen—"it happens often in Chamonix." So, there were three of us girls in an apartment with a key held by a stranger.
We asked the manager to find a solution to ensure the safety of our belongings and ourselves. She didn't reply again until 9 a.m. the next day. We had to prop the door open with a chair during the night. After numerous messages from us trying to find out, management finally told us that the previous guests had forgotten to return the keys.
We then asked for some kind of compensation for this stressful first night and the lost money on ski and lift pass rentals, which we only used for the afternoon while waiting for a response. But they did nothing. Too bad for them.
Aside from these issues, the apartment is very well located and clean, but unfortunately, the organization was very poor. Management called us back upon our return because they couldn't open the apartment door. But we had already left... So, very strange.
26/03/2026: Everything was great! A quiet hotel, close to the mountains, and excellent service. Plus, they gave me a room upgrade!

The Office Bar
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
21/03/2026: As a cocktail person I was disappointed with my pornstar martini because it was literally only orange juice, so sweet, couldnt even taste any alcohol and wasn't even made of passionfruit. Full of fake flower petals that made the drink uncomfortable, and for the price I was not happy with it. The food was ok, staff nice even though it took so long for them to give us the bill
13/03/2026: Such a fun place in the center of town. The menu is extensive and the atmosphere is festive.

Le Bistrot du Dahu
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
14/03/2026: You don’t need anything more than this…
09/03/2026: The hotel lost my reservation, which I only discovered one week before arrival during peak season. I had already paid a €130 deposit 4 months prior.
The deposit was eventually refunded, but being left without accommodation at such short notice created an extremely stressful situation and forced me to find last-minute lodging elsewhere at a much higher price. Hotel Le Dahu was of no help, despite this being their error. I recommend avoiding them.

Les Tables Du Chef
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
22/12/2025: A SHAME — RUN AWAY!
We chose Les Tables de Philippe because of its advertised "gastronomic" positioning, linked to Les Chalets de Philippe. The gap between the promise and the reality is unfortunately obvious.
We came via the Gourmet Passport, which has already allowed us to discover some excellent gastronomic establishments, including some at reduced rates. The price paid therefore has no bearing on the standards or the legitimacy of our opinion.
We were informed at the beginning of the meal that the current Italian chef had only arrived a few days or weeks prior. This information is important because it means that older photos and reviews visible on Google do not necessarily reflect what is offered today.
The menu offered during our visit was as follows:
– beef carpaccio,
– pumpkin risotto with sausage pieces,
– vitello tonnato, accompanied by raw vegetables (a simple bowl of salad combining lettuce and a little red cabbage),
– aged, but very young, cheeses,
– followed by a moist chocolate cake with yogurt sauce.
Overall, it's very classic Italian cuisine: recipes lacking any particular creativity, predictable flavors, basic textures, and a presentation without any noticeable effort. It's acceptable, but unremarkable, and far from the claimed gastronomic level.
The service was also subpar. One of the waiters spoke neither French nor English, only Italian, making any interaction difficult. His service was very abrupt, with no apparent etiquette. A second waiter was more conventional, pleasant, but offered nothing of value. No presentation of the dishes was offered: the plates were simply placed on the table, and the staff immediately withdrew.
During our conversation with the owner, he explained that "this isn't French gastronomy, but haute Italian cuisine," which he claimed was the work of a chef trained at one of Capri's finest schools. He also implied that, as holders of the Gourmet Passport, our comments were of little consequence and that the restaurant would always be full anyway. However, when we visited, the restaurant was far from full, which raises questions about the consistency of his claims.
The conversation took place in a tone that was not conducive to discussion and offered no real opportunity for self-reflection, further exacerbating our disappointment.
We didn't take any photos—or rather, we didn't even consider it—as the presentation of the dishes was so poor. To get an idea, simply search for the dishes listed above on Google and look at the first corresponding Google Images result.
Conclusion:
If you're looking for a truly exceptional gastronomic experience, both in terms of food and service, this isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for classic, decent, but nothing more, dishes, then this is the right place for you.
21/12/2025: We would like to share our experience regarding our dinner at Les Tables de Philippe in Chamonix. We had booked a six-course tasting menu for €95. Upon arrival, we were informed of a change of chef, which we accepted without difficulty. However, a new five-course menu was offered in its place, at the same price.
Presented as a gourmet Italian menu, it unfortunately proved very disappointing. While the carpaccio was acceptable, it was rather simple. The next course, a pumpkin and sausage risotto, lacked any real finesse. The vitello tonnato was the most disappointing element: meat drowning in sauce, accompanied by a simple bowl of salad, whereas the menu advertised raw vegetables. As I don't eat raw vegetables, I asked for an alternative and was served mini-quiches that seemed to have been frozen, which is hardly acceptable in a restaurant claiming to be gourmet.
The cheeses were bland, and the dessert—a chocolate cake with a yogurt sauce—was something you'd expect from a brasserie. Considering the price of the menu, it was a complete disappointment.
Furthermore, the service was anything but gourmet.
We should point out that we had the Gourmet Passport, and therefore only one of the two menus was charged. However, our complaint is not at all related to the amount paid, but rather to the quality of the meal, which fell far short of the standards expected of a gourmet menu.
Finally, when we tried to express our disappointment to the owner, he was dismissive, arguing that having the Gourmet Passport didn't give us the right to complain. A regrettable and unprofessional reaction that only exacerbated our poor experience.

Omeletterie La Poele
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
15/04/2026: The restaurant has a lovely outdoor seating area. 😍♥️ We tried their coffee, which was delicious, as well as the crème brûlée and crepe. 😋❤️ I was impressed. Honestly, the employee said that their cheese fondue requires wine, so we canceled the order. ❤️❤️
26/03/2026: A very bad experience. Prices that do not reflect the quality of the service and food at all. A pleasant surprise was an Irish coffee for 18 euros.

12/12/2025: Review of the shop only: superb selection of quality coffees, I've become a regular customer.
The quality and taste of the chocolate are truly top-notch 👍 Finally, real chocolate! I especially love the Espresso coffee bar and the dark chocolate/ginger bar ❤️
Bonus: they sometimes have promotions on products nearing their expiration date 👍
09/12/2025: The coffee is always cold and sometimes bad… For a roaster, that's a real shame.
And then there's the endless wait… there are four of them working to make three coffees, and you wait ages… If I didn't have to come because my family lives nearby, I'd go somewhere else! Avoid it. What saves them somewhat is the location.

Le Bartavel
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
04/04/2026: Avoid at all costs! This restaurant is a restaurant in name only! The hygiene is appalling, the waiters are incredibly rude, and as for the food, it made me want to start smoking again. Simply a disgrace to world gastronomy. If I owned this place, I'd burn it down.
22/03/2026: I had the pleasure of discovering this restaurant, located right next to my workplace, and the experience was very satisfying. The dishes are delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared with quality ingredients. The price-quality ratio is quite reasonable considering what's offered. The service is also pleasant and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Le Vert Hotel
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
01/03/2026: Got charged 64 euros for a portion of chicken pieces with onion rings and 3 drinks xD said that there was something on the list I didn’t have and he said it was subtracted, did the maths after and apparently paid for a main and a beer I didn’t have. Great maths people
17/02/2026: Booked this place at the last minute as our other accommodation informed us they had bedbugs - obviously a common problem in Europe. Location was good, bus goes right past the door and the train station is about 5 - 10 minute walk away. Breakfast was basic but good, help yourself so no shortage. The room was fine no issues. We ate in the restaurant nearly every night, good value. A lot of the complaints seem to be about the building, it's a 150 years old so what do you expect? Staff were helpful, self check in which worked fine. It's a perfectly good place as long as you're not one of these moaners who what to pay bottom dollar and get 5 star service. I would happily stay here again.

07/03/2026: Zero respect from them, I had a reservation for Saturday 07.03 for my mom's birthday, I drove 1 hour 30 minutes to get there only to be told that my reservation was cancelled without warning!
07/03/2026: Amazing hotel!!!! Room size is reasonable. Perfect location and they probably have the best view to the mountains. Would totally come again

Le Rencard

27/03/2026: Generally just okay. Kinda of strange that they wouldn't let you sit inside out of the cold, even though the restaurant was empty just to have a drink only if you buy food can you have that privilege.
13/03/2026: Good atmosphere, very friendly service, and the food is good. It's a bit pricey compared to other restaurants in the area, and the service was quite (very) slow, which prevents it from getting 5 stars.

La Potiniere
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
06/04/2026: Good food, a wide variety of dishes on the menu, and just the right portions. They have traditional local dishes that are perfect for sharing. The service was also good, especially from our waitress.
Located in the center of Chamonix, they have a huge, very comfortable terrace and a lovely indoor dining room.
05/04/2026: Very disappointed with the service. They refused to open a parasol, even though it was very hot, and they opened it as soon as we left. The daily special was very tough meat and an insufficient portion. We went elsewhere for dessert. We will not be returning.
