They also recently created an opening in the kitchen, so we can see everything that's going on—talk about transparency! Special shout-out to my little bearded guy with glasses and a ponytail. He'll know who he is, won't he, my sweetie?

09/12/2025: The restaurant was a bit noisy. A main course and dessert cost €18 without wine. There were only 5 shrimp in the daily special. The French toast was dry and unappetizing; I'd avoid it. This was my second visit, and I was quite disappointed. I just didn't connect with the place. It was very busy, which I guess appeals to some and not to others, myself included.

10/12/2025: We ordered a three-cheese pizza. Honestly, the taste was awful: the cheeses were really questionable and I had trouble eating them. The goat cheese was disgusting, and the blue cheese had a very strange taste. The dough tasted like a doughnut, nothing like a real Neapolitan pizza. To top it all off, we had terrible stomach aches afterward!

06/12/2025: The new owners of this establishment have managed to maintain the professionalism and authenticity that made its reputation. The pizzas are still just as good, the service is quick, the atmosphere is friendly – ​​it's a place worth knowing about.

12/12/2024: We tested this concept of protein pizza: the bean-based dough is a change from “classic” pizzas but the whole thing remains tasty. The staff is pleasant. The prices are perhaps a little above average but Pure Vitaé Café & Proteines justifies them with fresh products and a menu displaying the Agriculture Bio logo as well as the French chicken logo. Are you ready to spend a few euros more to choose products that are healthier for you and the environment?

21/09/2024: Excellente cuisine, service originale, on partage les plats entre convives. Suggestion de vins de Montpellier remarquable. Service super sympa ! Le quartier Candolle est typique de la convivialité montpelliéraine, à proximité de la faculté historique de médecine.

11/12/2025: Review from December 2025: Oh dear, what a change Trinquefougasse has undergone. The beloved "La Mer" planche is no longer available. Unfortunately, the restaurant has only declined in quality over the last 3-4 years. The service is far less attentive than before. Today, we were simply laughed at when the squid (seiche) on the skewer was still almost raw even after being returned to the kitchen for an extra round. This is not how you handle complaints. The food is nowhere near the same quality as it was 4 years ago. Where has the freshness gone? Even the bread seems several days old. Every year, on our way to/from Spain, we used to stay overnight in Montpellier and visit this restaurant. We will unfortunately have to find somewhere else. What a shame! Review from November 2022: As always, friendly and good. We love this restaurant with its good food, great wines, and lovely atmosphere. Reservations are recommended, but not always necessary.

05/12/2025: If you want to get a table, you need to go before 10:00. Once you get a table, you will be in brunch heaven. Yummy pulled pork and egg Benedict will comfort you after the time you spent in the queue. You won't regret waiting.
